My schedule has been very packed recently due to starting university and several other major life events. This means I unfortunately won't be able to write a 300 page essay on why this is the best Pokemon game I've ever played 🥲. But I'll go over what I liked.

Having only Gen 5 Pokemon appear throughout most of the game was an amazing choice. I wasn't able to use my usual same old team line ups, and using Pokemon I wasn't familiar with meant I had to strategize a little differently than I regularly would. Never knowing what types of Pokemon I would encounter where, I always had to make sure I could manage with whatever I had.

Though the story is nothing crazy by most RPG's standards, it is certainly a very big step up from most Pokemon games. Especially Gen 4, mainly due to having a villain who was legitimately somewhat threatening and some very interesting concepts, even if occasionally being a bit shallow about how it explores them.

Last but not least, this is (unfortunately) the best looking Pokemon game ever. With the Pokemon company really demonstrating their lack of ability to get their shit together in recent times I would really really love if every new Pokemon game just used highly detailed and animated pixelated sprites in 3D environments.
