Every playthrough feels like a fresh, new experience. A new secret to find, trick to learn, or alternate way of reaching the end. Yeah, this is a cool game.

It's an interesting hybrid between the Zelda and Metroid series', with its Zelda-like dungeons and more action-shooter sections with the normal levels. Although, to me, it's an exercise in frustration having to start so under-powered. It doesn't quite have that same feeling with Metroid where I'm excited once I get stronger, but it's still a decent little game.

A step-up for the series with its remarkably cinematic presentation, and boasting one of the catchiest chiptune soundtrack's I've ever heard. There are unique concepts here for sure, but it seems to play it safe, in comparison to Simon's Quest, as its focus is to deliver a rock-solid experience. Although, Konami apparently got the memo about knockback and stairs being the most frustrating elements of the previous games, as the game design here is truly sinister.
