Labour won five of the seven seats in Northamptonshire

Labour took five of Northamptonshire's seven constituency seats.

They were all Labour targets, including the hard-fought seat of Kettering.

The Conservatives retained the two blue seats held by Dame Andrea Leadsom and Chris Heaton-Harris, both of whom decided not to stand again.

Here is an overview of all the county's MPs.

Northampton South

The constituency had a voter turnout of 62%, which was down 7% from 2019.

Corby and East Northamptonshire

Former postal worker Lee Barron won this seat for Labour from defending Tory MP Tom Pursglove

The constituency had a voter turnout of 63%, which was down 7.3% from 2019.

Labour's Lee Barron won this seat, a key target for the party, from defending MP and former Conservative immigration minister Tom Pursglove.

Mr Barron has lived in Northamptonshire his whole life.

His father was a bootmaker in Raunds. He was a postal worker with Royal Mail and became a trade union representative.

Northampton North

Lucy Rigby is the new Labour MP for Northampton North

Lucy Rigby - Northampton North

The constituency had a voter turnout of 55%, which was down 12.2% from 2019.

Lucy Rigby, a solicitor specialising in competition law, contested the Lincoln constituency in 2015 and has been a councillor for a London council.

After winning, she told the Local Democracy Reporting Service she was "passionate" about the change she wanted to deliver for people in her constituency.

Ms Rigby said her three main priorities would be tackling the cost of living, improving public services and creating a thriving town centre that Northampton could be proud of.

Wellingborough and Rushden

Gen Kitchen will continue as the MP for Wellingborough

Gen Kitchen - Wellingborough and Rushden

The constituency had a voter turnout of 57%, which was down 4.7% from 2019.

Labour's Gen Kitchen retained her seat with 17, 754 votes.

She had previously won it in a by-election triggered by a recall petition for Conservative MP Peter Bone earlier this year.

The constituency had a voter turnout of 63%, which was down 5% from 2019.

This seat previously had a Tory majority of 17,363 and now has a Labour one of 3,820 - a swing of 20%.

Sarah Bool of the Conservatives is the new MP for South Northamptonshire

The constituency had a voter turnout of 69%, which was down 4.3% from 2019.

The Conservatives managed to retain this seat previously held by Dame Andrea Leadsom, who decided not to stand in the election.

Daventry

Stuart Andrews is the new MP for Daventry

Stuart Andrew - Daventry

The constituency had a voter turnout of 66%, which was down 8.8% from 2019.

Previous Conservative MP Chris Heaton-Harris decided not to stand again and Stuart Andrew won the seat for the Tories with 17,872 votes.

During campaigning, Mr Andrew said: "We are committed to supporting a high-quality and sustainable social care system, building on our additional investment of up to £8.6bn over the last two years."
