Burnley have signed Czech goalkeeper Vaclav Hladky on a two-year deal after he left newly promoted Ipswich Town earlier this summer.

The 33-year-old had been offered a new contract with the Tractor Boys, having helped them win promotion to the Premier League last season.

Whilst with Ipswich, Hladky won successive promotions and made a total of 71 appearances in all competitions between 2021 and 2024.

“I’ve heard a lot of things about Burnley and I’m well aware of this club, it’s got great history, an unbelievable fan base and I knew it was the place for me," Hladky said.

“I’m excited to get out and train today. I feel really well and I’m ready to get out there.”

Hladky began his career with Zbrojovka Brno and went on to join Slovan Liberec.

He later joined Scottish side St Mirren in 2019 and then spent a season in League Two with Salford City in 2020-21.

Hladky's arrival comes after Ipswich signed Burnley goalkeeper Arijanet Muric in a deal worth up to £15m.
