A lovely place run by wonderfully hospitable people. The rooms were big and comfortable and clean. The pool was nice and always cleaned. The hotel's dining is exceptional with delicious food. Breakfast was also delicious and had a mix of continental and traditional food. You can relax in a peaceful atmosphere surrounded by beautiful nature. All the staff members are extremely polite, responsive and kind. They have been very accommodating with me, highly recommended and I will be back.

Perfect view of the Bundala national park, from your own balcony! The owners are super friendly and go out of their way to make sure you have a great time. The food they prepare is delicious and beats many restaurants easily! Very relaxing and quiet environment, and the owner is a very knowledgeable park guide + nature photographer who will happily take you to the park and explain the wildlife you will encounter and migratory patterns of the 197 bird species that this beautiful peaceful nature park has to offer.

Wonderful spot which we stopped over at for a night between Ella and the southern beaches. The pool was stunning, rooms were clean, comfortable and plenty of space, and it was a lovely surprise to have a fruit plate waiting for us. Amazing pressure in the shower (best we’ve had in Sri Lanka), and the staff were exceptional, so warm and friendly. Really loved that they’re trying to be self sufficient with the solar panels on the roof, and the property felt very secure and private.

It is basically a fishing town and industrial zone with the new Port famous for maritime transshipment of cargo to other parts of the world. Main attraction is the Shangri-La Hotel and pristine 18 hole golf course whcih I rate best in Sri Lanka.

I have read a few reviews of Hambantota where people seem mad that they don't have bars and restaurants. And to those people I say: get yourself together. Hambantota is a tsunami affected area with lovely people who invite you in for tea, lunch and dinner just to chat, or talk about their experiences. I have met so many locals who I will remember for ever because of their hospitality and the stories they shared. To degrade this town simply because it is not full of tourist attractions is embarrassing. Hambantota has so much more.
