The room was fine and comfortable enough. Some suggestions there should be 2 chairs in a double bedroom. The lounger is okay but we found we sat on one chair and on the bed end. Not satisfied with the bathroom. The shower was over the bath which you had to step over and there was no handle to hold onto. This is not safe and noticeable. When there are 2 people in a room, there should be adequate teas and coffees and milk for 2 people. We asked for more even though we stayed one night. We were satisfied with it and it is central with the carpark facility. The cost is satisfactory for it. The staff were outstanding and helpful from the reception desk to the restaurant and concierges. Thank you. I will check these facilities next time we go as my Aunty is 88 years old and we must have safety.

Cordis, Auckland by Langham Hospitality Group, hotel in Auckland

Located in the lively uptown area near Upper Queen Street and Karangahape Road, Cordis, Auckland is surrounded by a vibrant neighborhood.

From the moment we arrived the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and went out of their way to help us. It was our son’s birthday and we arrived to balloons on the bed and a wee note with some chocolates for him. The buffet breakfast is also amazing, we have a child with a dairy and egg allergy and when asked the chef went out of his way to make pancakes for him which made his day! Absolutely recommend, we look forward to our next stay at The Cordis!

FAQs about hotels in Auckland

Thrilling City of Sails and Volcanoes

Called the "City of Sails" due to the large number of yachts anchored in Waitemata Harbor, Auckland is the largest city of both New Zealand and Polynesia. Built on the Auckland Volcanic Field featuring about 48 extinct volcanoes, this city truly is a blast!

Auckland is a real cultural mix with strong Asian, European, Maori and Polynesian influences, celebrated in frequent festivals and sports events. Some examples of these cultures can be seen at the Auckland War Memorial Museum, one of the best in New Zealand. For more, try the upmarket dining of Viaduct Harbour.

Another must-see is the tallest free-standing tower in the Southern Hemisphere, the Sky Tower. If you’re feeling up to the challenge, you can even perform the Sky Jump, a controlled base jump from 630 feet!

Climbing the volcanic cones as well as the stunning Auckland Harbour Bridge will provide unforgettable, panoramic views of the city’s skyline. For a different perspective, why not try a cruise or sea kayaking?

Getting to the city center is an easy trip from Auckland International Airport. Find modern hotels, comfortable motels and cheap hostels on Booking.com, sure to have the perfect place to stay for your trip.

    Auckland is an old city.

Auckland is an old city. Do not expect the high tech and huge malls of Dubai, or the food sophistication of Asian countries like Taiwan, Thailand, or even Hong Kong China. But expect the people are nice and warm (but be selective)... it has something to offer nevertheless a good ol' night of partying!!!

Have given them two goes first time ok but this time manager was less caring that last time, required reception but have noticed phones do not work in room. He knew there are units that were more suitable to avoid steps but we were only given options of slippery steps after he had our prepaid money of course, and also found creamer instead of milk the manager Tom says out of stock the other milk but creamer yuck, no other hotels are out of milk where we have stayed. I had to use my mobile phone to phone reception both times we have stayed.

As I only stayed in the City - Auckland City offers a delightful balance of modern urban life and stunning natural surroundings. Nestled between two harbors, it provides breathtaking waterfront views, especially from iconic spots like the Sky Tower or the Auckland Harbour Bridge. The city's skyline, dotted with sleek skyscrapers, complements the lush greenery of its many parks, making it a picturesque urban oasis.

We arrived in Auckland on a day that was absolutely beautiful - the sun was shining, clear blue sky. We had a late lunch in the Viaduct just a short 5-minute walk from our accommodation. What a stunning spot for the food, people watching and even better - the super yachts were fabulous to see. The next day was spent at Auckland Zoo. I have not been here since I was a child and remember the sad polar bears. The zoo is nothing like it was in the 70's. The enclosures are fantastic, and you do feel like you are up close to the animals. The gardens and walkways are awesome and well kept. Our third day was spent at Cornwall Park where we enjoyed brunch at the cafe in the park then it was on to the Westfield Shopping Mall at Newmarket to shop up a storm. A fabulous destination for a mini break with something for everyone.

I travel to Auckland on a regular basis, usually 3 days a week. Always best to check out all the amazing foodie spots. a few places I'd visit is Cocoa wilds for their amazing hot chocolate, or Miann Chocolate factory in Ponsonby. Also great public transport. Also, if you have time visit the Auckland museum and the Auckland art gallery

Only spent 2 nights in Auckland.

Only spent 2 nights in Auckland. The only day we were there, we took an all-day Hobbiton tour. So we did not get to see much of central Auckland. From what we did see, there was a lot of road works going on in the central city area, making it difficult for our tour operator to navigate from hotel to hotel for drop-offs. We found a wonderful food court not too far from our hotel and we enjoyed a lovely Thai meal.
