Sonja Morgan Finally Moves Out of Her NYC Townhouse: "End of an Era"
The RHONY alum reflects on her "cherished" abode as she prepares "to embrace a new chapter."
It’s official. Sonja Morgan has bid adieu to her Upper East Side townhome.
More than a decade after initially listing her five-story abode, The Real Housewives of New York City alum took to Instagram to share her final goodbye to the property. Sonja posted a series of photos and videos of her big move-out day, which was assisted by Piece of Cake Moving & Storage.
“Movin’ on out!” she captioned a July 5 photo that showed a moving truck parked outside the townhouse. “Did you guys think this would never happen?”

Fans got their first look at Sonja’s NYC digs when she made her Bravo debut in RHONY Season 3 (2010). The property eventually achieved iconic status, as it became the setting for some of the franchise’s most memorable moments. We're talking everything from extravagant parties to heated exchanges to LOL-inducing scenes with her gaggle of interns.
Sonja first listed the house in 2013 but pulled it off the market due to a lack of acceptable offers. She then renovated the home, rented it out, and put it back on the market after moving into a two-bedroom Columbus Circle apartment.

Fast-forward to May of 2024, when Sonja confirmed the house had been auctioned off for $4.45 million, about half of what she originally sought. She spoke about the experience during the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen’s 15th anniversary special (June 30).
“It’s such a… Every time I would list it, I would rent it ‘cause I have to pay the bills every month,” she explained. “This time, I said, ‘Auction it. I want out. I want a finite time. I am out!’ I sold the furniture. I’m feeling much lighter and I’m figuring I’m gonna eat more, sleep more, and get laid more.”

Although it can be difficult to say goodbye to a home, Sonja said she was happy with the move and optimistic about her next chapter.
“Reflecting on the wonderful memories created in our cherished townhouse—from raising my daughter to hosting unforgettable dinner parties and of course filming iconic ‘Real Housewives’ scenes,” she wrote in another July 5 Instagram post, which was captioned, "End of an Era." "This stately brownstone has been a cornerstone of me and family’s life, a beautiful sanctuary filled with laughter and love. Now, as I prepare to embrace a new chapter, I feel lighter and ready to return to my roots as an artist, with more time to be the creative individual I am… I am excited to pass on this magnificent home to its next owner, who will undoubtedly create their own wonderful memories here.”
