The Government of Canada is engaged in a number of government-wide strategic initiatives aimed at improving security government-wide.

Canada’s Cyber Security Strategy

Led by Public Safety Canada, this strategy is designed to boost our national cyber security posture. As part of this Strategy, TBS is leading a series of initiatives to better secure Government of Canada systems.

Federating Identity Management

This initiative provides direction for policy development and the implementation of technological solutions, and the basis upon which the GC works together with other partners, the provinces, and territories, to develop interoperable and standards-based solutions. Federating Identity Management builds on the cyber-authentication solution that departments must use to authenticate their users prior to accessing Government of Canada programs and services.
