  • DeVante Parker: Announces retirement

Parker announced his retirement from the NFL on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Two months after signing a one-year contract with the Eagles, Parker has had a change of heart on a 10th season in the league. The 31-year-old cited spending more time with his family as the primary factor in his decision. He spent his first seven seasons in Miami before playing the previous two in New England. The Louisville product's most productive season came in 2019, as he tallied 1,202 yards and nine touchdowns on 72 receptions for the Dophins. He was projected to compete for a role behind A.J. Brown (knee) and DeVonta Smith at wide receiver in the upcoming season.

  • Eagles' DeVante Parker: Links up with Eagles

Parker and the Eagles are in agreement on a one-year contract, Reuben Frank of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. Frank suggests the Eagles will only have to pay Parker something around the veteran's minimum, with New England in line to cover most of his 2024 compensation. The Patriots reportedly are set to release Parker on Wednesday at the start of the 2024 league year, despite his $3.2 million base salary being fully guaranteed. The 31-year-old has never lived up to his status as the 14th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, but he does have 5,660 receiving yards through nine season and should be in the mix for Philly's No. 3 WR job behind A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. None of the guys that filled that role for portions of last season -- Julio Jones, Quez Watkins, Olamide Zaccheaus -- is under contract with the Eagles for 2024.

  • Patriots' DeVante Parker: Set to be released

The Patriots have informed Parker that they will release him Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. The report notes that Parker has been given permission to talk to other teams in the meantime. The veteran wideout is coming off a 2023 campaign in which he caught 33 passes (on 55 targets) for 394 yards in 13 regular-season games. In the wake of Parker's looming departure, JuJu Smith-Schuster (ankle), Kendrick Bourne (knee) and Demario Douglas currently head New England's WR corps, with additions to the unit presumably slated to arrive via free agency and/or the draft.

  • Patriots' DeVante Parker: Logs 33 catches during 2023 season

Parker finished the 2023 season with 33 catches on 55 targets for 394 yards in 13 games. In his second year with New England, Parker didn't catch any TD passes while working in a passing offense that struggled to find consistency. The 30-year-old is under contract with the Patriots through the 2025 campaign, but with plenty of turnover expected following a 4-13 campaign, it's way too early to get a read on Parker's chances of putting together a bounce-back effort next season, or even predict what uniform he might be wearing in 2024.

  • Patriots' DeVante Parker: Suiting up Sunday

Parker (ribs) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Jets. Parker, who exited last weekend's loss to Buffalo due to a rib injury, was a limited participant in all three of New England's practices this week, but he'll be available for the Patriots' season finale. In the process, he figures to handle a starting role on the outside against a tough Jets secondary. In 12 games to date, Parker has caught 32 of his 51 targets for 388 yards, a pace that has limited his fantasy utility to deeper formats despite steady playing time.

  • Patriots' DeVante Parker: Questionable after limited practice

Parker (ribs) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets. Parker was a limited participant in all three of New England's practices after exiting the Week 17 loss to Buffalo due to a rib injury. If he suits up, Parker will likely occupy a starting role on the outside, though a matchup with a Jets secondary that has allowed the fewest catches, yards and touchdowns to wide receivers coupled with snow in the forecast suggest his opportunities could be limited Sunday.

  • Patriots' DeVante Parker: Limited Wednesday

Parker (ribs) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. Parker sustained the injury in Sunday's loss to the Bills, finishing with just one catch for 15 yards on two targets over his 15 snaps before exiting the contest. His ability to practice in some fashion to begin Week 18 prep suggests his injury isn't too severe, but he may need to upgrade to full participation Thursday or Friday to gain clearance for this weekend's season finale versus the Jets.

  • Patriots' DeVante Parker: Hurts ribs Sunday

Parker exited Sunday's game against the Bills with a rib injury. Before leaving the contest, Parker caught one of his two targets for 15 yards. While he's sidelined Sunday, Demario Douglas, Jalen Reagor and Tyquan Thornton are available to handle the Patriots' WR duties.

  • Patriots' DeVante Parker: Heavily involved again

Parker recorded four receptions on five targets for 65 yards in Sunday's 26-23 win over the Broncos. Parker continued to play a key role in the Patriots' offense with JuJu Smith-Schuster (ankle) and Hunter Henry (knee) both inactive. He made a pair of vital receptions in the second half, the first of which went for 30 yards late in the third quarter and set up a touchdown three plays later. Parker then tacked on a 27-yard gain with under a minute left in the final quarter to set up the game-winning field goal. Overall, he now has at least four receptions in each of his last three games while racking up over 40 yards in each contest in that span.

  • Patriots' DeVante Parker: Five grabs in Week 15 loss

Parker caught all five of his targets for 44 yards in Sunday's 27-17 loss to Kansas City. He had the Patriots' longest gain of the day, a 20-yard reception on the team's second possession that helped set up a field-goal attempt for Chad Ryland that drifted wide left. Parker has had trouble staying on the field this season, missing four games including last week's win over the Steelers, and Sunday's five grabs was his highest total since Week 2. The veteran wideout is still looking for his first touchdown of 2023, but he could find it in Week 16 against a Broncos defense that just coughed up five TD passes to Jared Goff.

  • Patriots' DeVante Parker: Another limited session

Parker (knee) remained limited during Thursday's practice. Following back-to-back limited sessions, Parker -- who was inactive Week 14 -- could potentially return to action Sunday against the Chiefs, but he may need to practice fully Friday in order to avoid a Week 15 injury designation. The same applies to fellow WRs Demario Douglas (concussion), JuJu Smith-Schuster (ankle), Tyquan Thornton (hamstring) and Kayshon Boutte (shoulder), all of whom also were deemed limited Thursday.

  • Patriots' DeVante Parker: Listed as limited Wednesday

Parker (knee) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday. Parker was inactive for last Thursday's 21-18 win over the Steelers, but the veteran wideout's ability to practice in a limited fashion Wednesday suggests that he has a chance to return to action Sunday against the Chiefs. He was one of four Patriots receivers listed as limited Wednesday, with Demario Douglas (concussion), JuJu Smith-Schuster (ankle) and Kayshon Boutte (shoulder) also joining him in on the Week 15 injury report.

  • Patriots' DeVante Parker: Won't play Thursday

Parker (knee) is inactive for Thursday night's game against the Steelers, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports. Parker, who was listed as a limited participant on practice reports Monday through Wednesday, approached the contest listed as questionable, and he'll sit this one out along with Demario Douglas (concussion) and Kayshon Boutte (shoulder). In his absence, JuJu Smith-Schuster (ankle), Tyquan Thornton, Jalen Reagor and Malik Cunningham are available to handle New England's WR duties versus Pittsburgh. Parker now will target a potential return to action Sunday, Dec. 17 against the Chiefs.

  • Patriots' DeVante Parker: Best game of season in shutout loss

Parker caught four of nine targets for 64 yards in Sunday's 6-0 loss to the Chargers. With fellow wide receiver Demario Douglas (concussion) sidelined, Parker worked as the top target for new starting quarterback Bailey Zappe. Parker led the team in targets and receiving yards while accounting for nearly half of Zappe's 141 passing yards. The veteran wideout just missed getting his feet down along the sideline on a deep ball on New England's final drive, but Parker still finished with his highest yardage total of the season. Parker should remain featured in New England's low-octane passing game Thursday against the Steelers.

  • Patriots' DeVante Parker: Three catches in return

Parker recorded three catches on five targets for 42 yards in Sunday's 10-7 loss to the Giants. Parker returned from a two-game absence and finished second on the team with 42 receiving yards. He also accounted for the Patriots' two longest plays from scrimmage on catches of 19 and 17 yards. While it was a relatively positive performance, Parker has failed to top 50 receiving yards in all but one of his eight contests on the campaign.

  • Patriots' DeVante Parker: Questionable for Sunday's contest

Parker (concussion) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants after being limited in practice this week. Parker hasn't seen game action since Week 8, but in the wake of the Patriots' Week 11 bye and a return to limited practices this week, the veteran wideout has a chance to return to action versus New York. Even though he didn't practice fully Wednesday through Friday, Parker could get the green light to play Sunday if he gains clearance from an independent neurologist at some point Saturday. In the seven outings he's played in this season, Parker has notched 15 catches for 158 yards and no touchdowns on 25 targets, a level of production that has thus far limited his fantasy lineup utility to deeper formats.

  • Patriots' DeVante Parker: Ruled out this week

Parker (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Commanders, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports. Per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, Parker was spotted at the media-access portion of Friday's practice, but he ended being listed as a non-participant and won't see Week 9 action. With Parker unavailable and Kendrick Bourne (knee) on IR, the Patriots' top current healthy WRs are Demario Douglas, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Jalen Reagor, with Tyquan Thornton (foot, questionable) -- if active -- and rookie Kayshon Boutte also candidates to get in the mix. Parker now will target a potential return to action Sunday, Nov. 12 against the Colts.

  • Patriots' DeVante Parker: Spotted at practice Friday

Parker (concussion) was present for the media-access portion of Friday's practice, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Parker didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday, but the wideout's presence at Friday's session offers hope that he could potentially be available Sunday against the Commanders. The Patriots' upcoming injury report will clarify whether Parker has a chance to suit up this weekend or is ruled out due to the concussion he sustained Week 8 at Miami.

  • Patriots' DeVante Parker: Remains sidelined Thursday

Parker (concussion) wasn't spotted at practice Thursday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Parker also missed practice Wednesday, clouding his status for Sunday's game against the Commanders. If Parker is unavailable this weekend, Demario Douglas, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Jalen Reagor could profile as the Patriots' top three wideouts, with Tyquan Thornton and Kayshon Boutte potentially seeing expanded roles behind the trio.

  • Patriots' DeVante Parker: In concussion protocol

Parker is in the NFL's concussion protocol after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit during Sunday's 31-17 loss to the Dolphins, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Prior to exiting Sunday's contest, Parker had logged 23 snaps on offense, while catching one of his two targets for 14 yards. It remains to be seen if Parker will be able to gain medical clearance ahead of this coming weekend's game against the Commanders, but either way once he's able to play, the 30-year-old, who has caught one pass in each of his last three outings, could be a candidate to see added targets, given that New England's top pass catcher Kendrick Bourne reportedly tore his right ACL versus Miami.
