Musgrove (5-4) earned the win against the Tigers on Monday, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out eight over six scoreless innings.
Musgrove was fantastic, yielding only singles while generating 15 swinging strikes on 94 pitches. He has excelled in five outings since returning from injury Aug. 12, yielding just four total earned runs and logging three consecutive quality starts. On the season, the 31-year-old owns a 4.09 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 71:21 K:BB across 77 innings and next lines up to face the Giants this weekend.

Musgrove allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out three over six innings in a no-decision versus the Cardinals on Wednesday.
Musgrove had mixed results in this contest. It was the first time in four starts since he returned from an elbow injury that he allowed multiple runs, but he also saw a full workload of 94 pitches (61 strikes) and turned in his second quality start in a row. Musgrove has been good since his return, shaking off both the injury and his struggles from early in the campaign. He's now at a 4.44 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 63:19 K:BB through 71 innings over 14 starts this season. The right-hander's next start is projected to be at home versus the Tigers.

Musgrove (4-4) allowed one hit and struck out nine over seven scoreless innings to earn the win over the Mets on Friday.
Musgrove needed just 75 pitches (58 strikes) to get through seven frames in his best start of the campaign. That was his highest pitch count in three starts since returning from a bone bruise and bone spur in his right elbow. The 31-year-old trimmed his ERA from 4.97 to 4.43 in the process, and he's added a 1.26 WHIP and 60:18 K:BB over 65 innings across 13 starts this season. Musgrove's workload may remain limited in his next projected start, which is expected to come in St. Louis.

Musgrove allowed one run on three hits and two walks while striking out six over 4.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Rockies on Sunday.
Musgrove continues to be brought along slowly in his recovery from a bone bruise and bone spur in his throwing elbow. He stretched out to 73 pitches (47 strikes) and limited the damage to an Aaron Schunk RBI double in the third inning. Musgrove has allowed one run on five hits and three walks over 8.2 innings since his return. The veteran right-hander has a 4.97 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 51:18 K:BB through 58 innings over 12 starts this year. Musgrove will likely still have a slight workload restriction for his next start, which is tentatively projected to be at home versus the Mets.

Musgrove gave up two hits and issued one walk while striking out one batter over 4.1 scoreless innings in a no-decision against Pittsburgh on Monday.
Musgrove's first big-league start since May 26 went well, as the veteran hurler allowed just four baserunners (on two hits, a walk and a hit-by-pitch) while throwing 43 of 63 pitches for strikes. The right-hander made only one rehab appearance (Aug. 4 with Single-A Lake Elsinore) during which he tossed just 43 pitches, which explains why he was held to a limited workload Monday. Musgrove may be kept under some level of a pitch count for another start or two, but he figures to have more of a leash his time on the mound, which is tentatively slated to take place in Colorado.

The Padres activated Musgrove (elbow) from the 60-day injured list Monday.
Musgrove will rejoin San Diego's rotation Monday versus the Pirates after missing 11 weeks of action with a bone spur and bone bruise in his right elbow. The veteran right-hander threw only 43 pitches in his lone rehab start, so his workload will be curtailed against Pittsburgh.

Musgrove (elbow) will not rejoin the Padres' rotation this weekend in Miami as previously anticipated, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Manager Mike Shildt indicated previously that Musgrove would make a start against the Marlins this weekend, but he is not listed among the team's probable starters this weekend. Instead, he's likely to return Monday at home versus the Pirates, per Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune, although that has not yet been confirmed by the team. Musgrove (elbow) joined the Padres in Pittsburgh on Tuesday, and manager Mike Shildt said there's a "high probability" the pitcher returns from the 60-day injured list this weekend in Miami, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.
Musgrove went 3.1 innings and threw 43 pitches in his first rehab start with Single-A Lake Elsinore on Sunday and said Tuesday that he feels "physically ready" to rejoin the Padres rotation.
