  • Braves' Jose Perdomo: Makes pro debut

Perdomo (hamstring) was activated from the 60-day injured list Monday and debuted in the Dominican Summer League.

He has gone 1-for-4 with one strikeout in two games since getting activated. Perdomo was one of the top international prospects to sign this year on Jan. 15, but he dealt with a significant hamstring injury that delayed his pro debut.

  • Braves' Michael Harris: Unlikely to return until August

Harris (hamstring) is still at least two or three weeks away from returning from the 10-day injured list, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

The center fielder has yet to begin a rehab assignment as he recovers from a hamstring strain that's sidelined him since June 14. Harris was slashing a disappointing .250/.295/.358 prior to the injury, and in his absence, Jarred Kelenic has seized firm hold of the leadoff job. When Harris gets activated from the IL, expect him to hit in the bottom half of the order.

  • Braves' Huascar Ynoa: Goes two innings in rehab outing

Ynoa (elbow) failed to record a strikeout and gave up one earned run on two hits and no walks over two innings in his rehab outing Tuesday in the rookie-level Florida Complex League.

Ynoa's appearance Tuesday was his first at any level since April 14, as he's been on the mend from a right elbow stress reaction for the past three months. He'll likely require the entire 30-day rehab window to get fully stretched out before he's activated from the 60-day injured list, at which point Atlanta will likely option him to Triple-A Gwinnett.

  • Braves' Aaron Bummer: Not seeing high-leverage work

Bummer has posted a 3.62 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 37:11 K:BB through 32.1 innings with two wins, zero saves and zero holds through 33 appearances.

Acquired from the White Sox in the offseason to bolster Atlanta's relief corps, Bummer hasn't been able to claim a high-leverage role in a much deeper bullpen than he was part of in Chicago. The southpaw has been effective at keeping the ball in the park, serving up only one homer despite a 54.9 percent groundball rate that's his lowest mark since he was a rookie in 2017. Barring a rash of injuries ahead of him in the pecking order, Bummer will likely continue working in middle relief in the second half, limiting his fantasy value even in formats that use holds as well as saves.

  • Braves' Huascar Ynoa: Starting rehab assignment in FCL

Atlanta sent Ynoa (elbow) to the rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate Tuesday to begin a rehab assignment.

Ynoa will be making his first appearance since he was shut down in mid-April with a right elbow stress reaction. The right-hander is on Atlanta's 60-day injured list, but he should eventually get optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett once he completes his rehab assignment. Ynoa hasn't pitched at the major-league level since 2022, having missed all of 2023 following Tommy John surgery.

  • Braves' Brian Anderson: Outrighted off 40-man roster

Atlanta outrighted Anderson to Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday.

After being reinstated from the 10-day injured list this past Wednesday, Anderson appeared in just one of Atlanta's subsequent five games before being pushed off the 40-man roster. Atlanta will announce a replacement for Anderson on the 40-man roster and 26-man active roster prior to their first game out of the All-Star break Friday versus the Cardinals.

  • Braves' Nick Montgomery: Going to Atlanta

Atlanta has selected Montgomery with the 161st overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft.

A 6-foot-4 high school catcher from California, Montgomery has a chance to provide above-average power from the right side. It's not clear that he will be able to stick behind the plate due to his big frame, but he has plenty of arm for the position. Montgomery isn't expected to develop a great hit tool and he has fringe-average speed.

  • Braves' Herick Hernandez: Nabbed in fourth round

Atlanta has selected Hernandez with the 129th overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft.

Drafted in the 19th round by the Reds last year, Hernandez elected to return to the University of Miami for his senior year instead. The 5-foot-10 lefty features a low-90s fastball with a slider and curve with good spin rates, but control issues could point to a future in the bullpen.

  • Braves' Luke Sinnard: Headed to Atlanta

Atlanta has selected Sinnard with the 99th overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft.

A 6-foot-8, 250-pound righty from Indiana, Sinnard had an elbow surgery that limited him as a junior, but he was throwing for scouts at the combine. When healthy, Sinnard can touch 96 mph with his fastball while mixing in two quality breaking balls with above-average control.

  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Earns save No. 22

Iglesias picked up the save in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Padres, tossing a clean ninth inning while striking out a batter in the process.

Iglesias was able to preserve a three-run lead for Atlanta and help the team go into the break on a positive note. He began with a strikeout against Kyle Higashioka before retiring David Peralta and Jurickson Profar on a pair of lineouts. Iglesias hasn't allowed a run in each of his last eight appearances and last blew a save back on May 3. The 34-year-old isn't striking out as many batters as he has throughout his career but is still posting superb numbers. Iglesias is now up to 22 saves and will take a 2.02 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 31:7 K:BB (35.2 innings) into the second half of the season.

  • Braves' Chris Sale: Picks up another win Sunday

Sale (13-3) earned the win over the Padres on Sunday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks while striking out four over five innings.

Sale let up a run in the opening frame but was able to limit the damage to just a run after allowing three base hits in the inning. He silenced the Padres from there to pick up his league-leading 13th win and his third consecutive victory. He becomes the first Atlanta pitcher since 2000 to head into the All-Star break with 13 wins. Sale has now allowed two or fewer runs in each of his last seven starts and heads into the break with a 2.70 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 140:24 K:BB in 110 innings.

  • Braves' Ozzie Albies: On base three times

Albies went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's win over the Padres.

Albies began his day with a double and later led off the fourth with a single before stealing second and coming around to score on a base hit from Matt Olson. Albies has notched a double in three straight games and now has four multi-hit efforts in July. The 27-year-old switch hitter heads into the break slashing .258/.312/.410 with eight homers, 44 RBI, 47 runs, eight steals and a 24:59 BB:K in 381 plate appearances.

  • Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Two homers Sunday

D'Arnaud went 2-for-3 with two homers, a walk, a stolen base, four RBI and three runs scored in Sunday's win over the Padres.

D'Arnaud didn't get going until later in the game. He distanced Atlanta with a three-run blast in the sixth to put them up 5-1 and then followed up with a solo home run in the eighth. The 35-year-old backstop also reached via a walk and swiped his first base of the year. The home runs were d'Arnaud's first since June 22 and are a continuation of a strong month at the plate so far. Over 26 plate appearances, d'Arnaud is slashing .333/.385/.625 with seven RBI and four runs scored in July. He continues to be in a timeshare behind the plate with Sean Murphy and won't have a clear path to an everyday role unless Murphy were to pick up another injury.

  • Braves' Carter Holton: Second-round pick

Atlanta has selected Holton with the 62nd overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft.

A 5-foot-11 southpaw from Vanderbilt, Holton's best pitch is a plus sweeper that gives lefty hitters fits, but he has a full starter's pitch mix. His size and missed time in 2023 led to some evaluators projecting a future in relief, but Atlanta has done a good job developing pitching, so Holton finds himself in a good spot.

  • Braves' Jhancarlos Lara: Moves past hamstring injury

Lara (oblique) has compiled a 5.28 ERA, 1.81 WHIP and 45:30 K:BB in 44.1 innings since reporting to High-A Rome on May 2.

Though he didn't open the season on Rome's injured list, he missed all of April while he completed his recovery from an oblique strain. Lara seems to have avoided any setbacks on the health front since joining Rome's rotation, but he's gotten off to a rough start to the season thanks in large part to his bloated 14.1 percent walk rate. The 21-year-old will likely need to improve his control if he's to stick on a starter's developmental track, but Lara probably has at least a couple of years to iron things out before Atlanta would contemplate shifting him to a relief role.

  • Braves' Cam Caminiti: Headed to Atlanta

Atlanta has selected Caminiti with the 24th overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft.

A nephew of former big-league third baseman Ken Caminiti, Cam reclassified to be part of the 2024 class and doesn't turn 18 until August. The 6-foot-2 southpaw sits 93-to-95 mph with his fastball (touches 98 mph) while mixing in potentially above-average offerings in his slider and changeup. His fastball is easily his best pitch due to good movement that elicits whiffs in the zone. Caminiti was a quality center fielder in high school, so he's pretty athletic, which scouts hope will allow him to develop starter-level command.
