Brewers' Abner Uribe: Out for rest of season
Uribe underwent surgery on his right knee Wednesday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Uribe's return timeline had been uncertain heading into the operation, though he's now been ruled out for the remainder of the 2024 campaign and hopes to be ready for the start of spring training. The 24-year-old reliever will finish the year with a 6.91 ERA and 1.88 WHIP across 14.1 innings in the majors.

Brewers' John Holobetz: Drafted in fifth round
The Brewers have selected Holobetz with the 156th overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft.
Holobetz logged a career-high 62.2 innings this spring for Old Dominion, finishing with a 4.31 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 52 strikeouts. He has primarily pitched out of the bullpen during his career and the strikeout totals don't jump off the page, so this could be a money-saving pick by the Brewers.

Brewers' Marco Dinges: Headed to Milwaukee
The Brewers have selected Dinges with the 123rd overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft.
Dinges was announced as a catcher despite not catching much at Florida State. Milwaukee has had success teaching players to be better receivers, so this could be a developmental project. He slashed .323/.415/.583 with 15 home runs and more walks (38) than strikeouts (37) in 64 games in his lone year at FSU.

Brewers' Jaron DeBerry: Selected by Milwaukee
The Brewers have selected DeBerry with the 93rd overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft.
A fourth-year senior out of Dallas Baptist, DeBerry was likely a below-slot pick for the Brewers, but the organization's ability to develop arms can't be ignored. The 6-foot-3 right-hander posted an 89:38 K:BB through 90 innings last year for the Patriots with a 3.50 ERA.

Brewers' Oliver Dunn: Moves to 60-day IL
The Brewers transferred Dunn (back) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Dunn hasn't played at any level since June 12, with his last appearance coming with the Brewers before he was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on June 19. The Brewers later revoked the transaction June 27, instead placing him on their 10-day injured list with a back strain. Though Brewers manager Pat Murphy said after Dunn's placement on the 10-day IL that the utility infielder would be sidelined for at least one month, the 26-year-old's move to the 60-day IL now indicates that Milwaukee is preparing for him to miss at least two months. In a corresponding move, Brewers selected the contract of outfielder Brewer Hicklen to take Dunn's spot on the 40-man roster.

Brewers' Brewer Hicklen: Added to 40-man roster
The Brewers selected Hicklen's contract and optioned him to Triple-A Nashville on Monday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Though he won't receive a promotion to the big leagues coming out of the All-Star break, Hicklen's addition to Milwaukee's 40-man roster at least removes a potential obstacle in him getting a call-up at a later date. The 28-year-old outfielder has been one of the top performers at Nashville this season, slashing .270/.383/.571 with 19 home runs and 26 stolen bases across 313 plate appearances.

Brewers' Jared Koenig: Kicking off rehab assignment Friday
Koenig (elbow) will make a rehab appearance with Triple-A Nashville on Friday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Koenig was placed on the 15-day injured list June 29 with left forearm tendinitis, but he looks to be progressing quickly after tossing a bullpen session Thursday and a multi-inning simulated game Sunday. The Brewers will reassess Koenig's status after Friday's rehab appearance, but he may need just the one outing with Nashville before returning to the big-league bullpen.

Brewers' Joe Ross: Another rehab start coming Friday
Ross (back) is scheduled to make the third start of his rehab assignment Friday with Triple-A Nashville, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Ross's upcoming start with Nashville could be his last before he returns from the 60-day injured list. He built up to 3.2 innings and 46 pitches in his latest start with Nashville on Wednesday, so Ross will likely be targeted for around 60-to-75 pitches in his upcoming outing. After designating Dallas Keuchel for assignment Sunday, Milwaukee has an opening in its rotation that would next need to be filled July 24 versus the Cubs. If Friday's rehab start goes well, Ross could be part of the Brewers' plans for the July 24 game as a starter or bulk reliever.

Brewers' Chris Levonas: Snagged by Milwaukee
The Brewers have selected Levonas with the 67th overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft.
A prep righty from New Jersey, Levonas has a potentially plus fastball/slider combo with shaky control. He has a very projectable 6-foot-2, 170-pound frame, so his arsenal could be filthy in a few years. If he is pounding the zone early in pro ball, his stock could take off.

Brewers' Devin Williams: Dazzles in first rehab outing
Williams (back) struck out all three batters he faced in a perfect inning during his rehab appearance Sunday with High-A Wisconsin.
Williams has been on the shelf all season while recovering from a pair of stress fractures in his back, but he didn't exhibit any signs of rust in his first game action of 2024. He needed just 14 pitches to strike out the side and generated four swings-and-misses during his brief time on the mound. The Brewers may have Williams shift his rehab assignment to Double-A Biloxi or Triple-A Nashville for a tougher test following the All-Star break, but the right-hander may not require too many more tune-up outings in the minors if he continues to look as sharp as he did Sunday. Williams should eventually supplant Trevor Megill as the Brewers' preferred option to close games once he's reinstated from the 60-day injured list.

Brewers' DL Hall: Will get stretched out in minors
Brewers general manager Matt Arnold said Sunday that Hall (knee/forearm) will continue to get stretched out for starting duty once he resumes his rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Hall has had his rehab assignment at Nashville shut down on two occasions, with the latest being the result of a bruised left forearm suffered when he was struck by a line drive Tuesday. Though Hall avoided structural damage to his pitching arm, he remains shut down from throwing but should be able to resume ramping up within a few days. Hall could still be a week or more away from resuming his assignment, however, which makes it unlikely that he'll be ready to return from the 60-day injured list before the end of July. Hall had previously covered between two and three innings in his last four rehab starts with Nashville while maxing out at 62 pitches.

Brewers' Bryce Meccage: Drafted by Milwaukee
The Brewers have selected Meccage with the 57th overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft.
Meccage, a prep righty from New Jersey, has a prototypical starter's frame (6-foot-4, 210 pounds) and already sits in the mid-90s with his fastball. His slider is his best secondary offering, and he is working on his curveball and changeup. The one knock on Meccage is he has shown inconsistent command, but his fastball/slider combo should eventually play in the majors in some role.

Brewers' Blake Burke: Goes 34th overall
The Brewers have selected Burke with the 34th overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft.
A lefty-hitting first baseman who starred at Tennessee, Burke is a strong, physical player at 6-foot-3, 236 pounds. He is a good athlete for his size and stole 11 bases while hitting 20 homers and slashing .379/.449/.702 as a junior. Burke also logged a .955 OPS with a wood bat in the Cape Cod League in 2022, which is extra impressive considering he was just 19 at the time.

Brewers' Braylon Payne: Headed to Milwaukee
The Brewers have selected Payne with the 17th overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft.
Payne's top tool is his 70-grade speed, which could lead to him being a plus center fielder in time. The lefty-hitting high schooler from Texas doesn't turn 18 until mid-August, so he is one of the youngest players in the draft. Offensively, Payne is a hit-over-power prospect who doesn't look to drive the ball much yet, although he has enough bat speed to eventually hit for double-digit homer power if he is able to max out.

Brewers' Brice Turang: Reaches 30-steal mark
Turang went 1-for-5 with a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 9-3 win over the Nationals.
Turang has struggled at the plate in July, going 9-for-48 (.188) over his first 13 games this month. That's also put a damper on his best attribute, his speed, as he's been able to log just two steals on three attempts in that span. Turang has 30 thefts on 35 attempts this year -- good for second in the majors behind only the Reds' Elly De La Cruz -- while adding six home runs, 38 RBI, 45 runs scored and a .277/.341/.390 slash line through 93 contests.
