  • Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Suffers broken foot

Jackson broke the fifth metatarsal in his right foot earlier this week and will undergo surgery Sept. 4.

The Grizzlies had a rough time with injuries in the 2023-24 season, and the team is not catching a break even in the offseason. Jackson suffered the injury while playing basketball outside Dallas on Aug. 27 when he had an unstable landing on his right foot. A timetable for recovery has not been provided, but it wouldn't be surprising if Jackson is not fully recovered for the start of the regular season in late October.

  • Grizzlies' Santi Aldama: Leads team in rebounding

Aldama recorded seven points (2-8 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 11 rebounds, four assists and two blocks in 25 minutes for Spain during Friday's 88-85 loss to Canada in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Aldama struggled with his outside shot during Friday's loss but still managed to lead Spain in minutes, rebounds and blocks. Across his three appearances in the Olympics, Aldama averaged 17.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.7 blocks in 28.3 minutes.

  • Grizzlies' Luke Kennard: Signs one-year deal with Memphis

Kennard (knee) and the Grizzlies agreed to a one-year, $11 million deal Wednesday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

The Grizzlies allowed Kennard to hit free agency when they declined his team option June 29, but there was always mutual interest to get a new deal done. Kennard is a valuable floor spacer for the Grizzlies, especially when playing alongside Ja Morant and Desmond Bane. During the 2023-24 regular season, Kennard drained 45 percent of his three-point attempts. He did miss time at the end of the campaign with a troublesome left knee issue, and that will be an injury to monitor ahead of training camp.

  • Grizzlies' Santi Aldama: Game-high 27 points in loss

Aldama tallied 27 points (6-12 FG, 6-8 3Pt, 9-10 FT), five rebounds and two steals across 30 minutes in Spain's 92-80 loss to Australia in the Paris Olympics on Saturday.

Aldama came out firing against Australia, and he converted a game-high six threes in Saturday's loss. The 23-year-old is the only player for Spain currently on an NBA roster, and he proved his position as the top option in Spain's offense in their opening matchup of the group phase. The squad still has yet to play Canada and Greece in a stacked Group A, and Aldama will likely continue to serve as the focal point of the offense moving forward.

  • Grizzlies' Santi Aldama: Star man for Spain

Aldama is on the Spanish national team's roster for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Aldama was Spain's focal point during their Olympic-qualifying run, averaging 17.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.8 blocks and 1.5 assists in 26.5 minutes across four contests. With the 23-year-old being the only player on the roster currently signed to an NBA team, he will likely be at the heart of any success Spain achieves in Paris.

  • Grizzlies' Jay Huff: Joins Memphis on two-way deal

Huff and the Grizzlies agreed to a two-way contract Wednesday.

Huff has struggled to gain his footing in the NBA, having had stints with the Lakers, Wizards and Nuggets for a total of 31 appearances. He's likely to spend the bulk of his time with the Hustle in the G League this season.

  • Grizzlies' Scotty Pippen: Scores 29 in Summer League finale

Pippen had 29 points (9-24 FG, 1-8 3Pt, 10-13 FT), five rebounds, 11 assists, four steals and two blocks in 36 minutes during Monday's Summer League Championship Game against the Heat.

Pippen didn't have his shot working from the field, but he finished second on his team in scoring by getting to the charity stripe at will. He also showcased his passing ability, securing a double-double to close out Summer League play.

  • Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Has another big night

Jackson recorded 28 points (11-16 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-8 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and two steals in 37 minutes during Monday's 120-118 Summer League loss to the Heat.

Jackson was named to the NBA 2K25 All-Summer League First Team earlier in the day, and it's not difficult to see why. He narrowly missed a double-double and shot with efficiency, converting on 68.8 percent of his tries from the field. This was a great finish to Summer League for the 19-year-old forward.

  • Grizzlies' Jake LaRavia: Ready to return

LaRavia (ankle) will play in Monday's Summer League Championship Game against the Heat, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

LaRavia was held out of Sunday's semifinal due to an ankle sprain, but he's since been given the green light to suit up for Monday's clash. He'll aim to bounce back following a quiet showing Thursday against the Pelicans, when he finished with two points and one assist in eight minutes before exiting with the injury.
