Suns' Devin Booker: Efficient outing to take home gold
Booker chipped in 15 points (6-10 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds and three assists across 28 minutes in Team USA's 98-87 win over France in the gold medal game of the Paris Olympics on Saturday.
After posting a team-high 13 points on 5-for-7 from the field at the half, Booker was quiet while shooting 1-for-3 in the second half. However, Team USA took home gold, and Booker's three-point shooting was a major reason why. The 27-year-old averaged 11.7 points, 3.3 assists and 2.7 rebounds across 22.0 minutes per game in six Olympic appearances. Booker also shot an impressive 56.5 percent from deep, and he was a consistent bucket for Team USA.

Suns' TyTy Washington: Lands two-way deal with Phoenix
Washington agreed to a two-way contract with the Suns on Friday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Washington has made 42 regular-season appearances between Houston and Milwaukee over his first two seasons in the NBA, averaging 3.0 points in 9.6 minutes per game. The 2022 first-rounder will attempt to carve out a role in Phoenix during the 2024-25 campaign and could have opportunities to develop in the G League.

Nurkic has been working on his three-point stroke this summer, Evan Sidery of Forbes.com reports.
It's late July, so we've hit the "big man expanding his range" portion of the news cycle. For what it's worth, Nurkic did drill a respectable 36.1 percent of his 119 three-point attempts during his 2022-23 campaign in Portland, but he saw a regression to the mean last season, converting just 24.4 percent of his long balls in Phoenix during the regular season. Throughout his 10 years of professional experience, Nurkic has gone 97 of 347 from distance, so we wouldn't expect him to suddenly become a lethal shooter from the perimeter, but he will need to shoot competently from beyond the arc to function in Mike Budenholzer's system. Don't be surprised if the 30-year-old Bosnian sees fewer minutes with a new coach in town.

After missing most of the preparation period for Team USA due to a calf strain, Durant came off the bench and scored a game-high 23 points. The superstar scored 21 points on 100 percent shooting from the field in the first half alone, proving why he is the top scorer in USA Olympic history. The 35-year-old got buckets easily, and it would not be a surprise if he eventually slots into the starting five as the squad has three more games in the group phase. Regardless of Durant's role, he will score at will and get his fair share of playing time.

After missing significant preparation with Team USA due to a right calf strain, Durant will suit up for Sunday's matchup. The superstar missed several practices and was absent from all five of the squad's showcase games. However, Team USA will get their leading scorer back in time for the start of the Olympic group phase. The last time Durant suited up for Team USA was in 2021 in Tokyo, when he averaged 27.1 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.5 blocks per game.
