  • Bills' Kareem Jackson: Gets let go

Jackson was released by the Bills on Tuesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Jackson joined Buffalo in July in an attempt to complete a 15th NFL season, but the 36-year-old ultimately was unable to earn a spot on the team's final 53-man roster. The Alabama product could still draw interest from other teams looking to improve their depth with an accomplished veteran safety.

  • Bills' Kareem Jackson: Heading to Buffalo

Jackson signed a one-year contract Tuesday, Chris Jenkins of the Bills' official site reports.

Potential starter Mike Edwards has a hamstring injury that's more than a day-to-day thing, so the Bills are bringing in reinforcements. At 36 years old, Jackson is on the downside of his career, but he has a strong history as a key starter for both the Texans and Broncos for a number of years and can help the Bills if they run into depth issues.

  • Texans' Kareem Jackson: Gets claimed from waivers Tuesday

Houston claimed Jackson off waivers Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Denver waived Jackson on Monday, but it only took a day for him to find another opportunity with a different team, one he's played for in the past. He's had a better year than he did last season on a per-game basis, but staying on the field has been an issue for him in 2023.

The Broncos waived Jackson on Monday, Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post reports.

Jackson will head to waivers after logging 51 tackles (36 solo) and two interceptions in eight games for the Broncos. The 35-year-old was suspended twice earlier this season for repeated violations of the league's unnecessary roughness rules and will now try and catch on with another team.

  • Broncos' Kareem Jackson: Suspension complete

Jackson's four-game suspension was lifted Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Jackson will now return from his second suspension for repeated violations of the league's unnecessary roughness rules, bans that have caused him to miss six of the past seven games. The 35-year-old should return to his starting spot at safety alongside Justin Simmons for Sunday's matchup versus the Patriots.

  • Broncos' Kareem Jackson: Suspension upheld Wednesday

Jackson's four-game suspension was upheld on appeal Wednesday.

It's the second four-game stint this season that Jackson will have to spend on the bench for repeated violations of the league's unnecessary roughness rules. Until he's eligible to play again, 2022 fifth-rounder Delarrin Turner-Yell will likely step back into a starting role at safety next to Justin Simmons.

  • Broncos' Kareem Jackson: Suspended again

The NFL announced Monday that Jackson has been suspended for four games for violating player safety rules, Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com reports.

Jackson has now been suspended for the second time this season, after he was previously dealt a four-game ban in late October for multiple violations of unnecessary roughness rules. The ban was reduced to two games following an appeal, but he's likely to serve all four games of his latest suspension after he was deemed to have lowered his helmet during a hit on Vikings quarterback Joshua Dobbs less than two minutes Sunday's 21-20 win over Minnesota. Jackson, who wasn't penalized on the play in question and ended up taking the field for all 74 of Denver's defensive snaps in Week 11, still plans on appealing his latest suspension, according to Legwold.

  • Broncos' Kareem Jackson: Suspension reduced

Jackson had his four-game suspension reduced to two games following a successful appeal Tuesday, Ryan McFadden of The Denver Post reports.

The NFL handed Jackson the four-game ban Monday for multiple violations of the league's unnecessary roughness rules, as the safety had already been ejected from two games this season due to illegal hits. As a result of the suspension reduction, Jackson will miss games in Weeks and 8 and 10 before he's eligible to return to action Week 11 game versus the Vikings. P.J. Locke replaced the ejected Jackson in Sunday's win over the Packers and will likely enter the starting lineup beginning with the Broncos' Week 8 contest versus the Chiefs.
