The Cardinals signed Haynes to a contract Tuesday.
The move corresponds with the Cardinals placing BJ Ojulari (knee) on injured reserve Monday. Haynes spent the first six years of his NFL career with the Panthers after being drafted in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He missed the first nine regular-season games of 2023 due to a back injury, and he was ruled out for the season finale due to a concussion he sustained in Week 17. Haynes' most productive campaign came in 2022, when he accumulated 29 tackles (20 solo), including 5.0 sacks, along with four passes defended and a fumble recovery for a touchdown across 17 regular-season games.

Panthers' Marquis Haynes: Out for Sunday
Haynes (concussion) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Buccaneers.
The 30-year-old was held out of practice all week after sustaining a concussion during the Panthers' Week 17 loss to the Jaguars, so it's no surprise that he'll be inactive for the team's season finale. DJ Johnson could see more work as a rotational outside linebacker in Haynes' stead.

Haynes (back) did not participate at practice Wednesday.
It appeared for a moment as if Haynes had finally shaken his lingering back issue when he managed a full practice late last week and played a season-high 26 snaps at Tennessee in Week 12, but his injury is apparently still bothering him to start the Panthers' new week of practice. Even still, it would be somewhat surprising if he didn't get back on the practice field at some point this week and suit up in Week 13 at Tampa Bay.
