It's a strong indicator that Pineiro is expected to be fine for Week 1 at New Orleans despite missing the second half of Carolina's final preseason game. He said he could've kicked if needed during the exhibition.

Panthers' Eddy Pineiro: No concern over hamstring soreness
Pineiro told reporters that he did not return for the second half of Saturday's preseason game against the Bills due to mild hamstring soreness, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
Pineiro relayed that he could have kicked in the second half if needed and said that the team wanted to "err on the side of caution" with the hamstring injury. He made both of his extra-point attempts and a 45-yard field goal in the first half of Saturday's contest. Pineiro should be good to go for the Panthers' regular-season opener against the Saints on Sept. 8.

Panthers' Eddy Pineiro: Questionable to return

While Pineiro was not really expected to lose his job to Mevis this offseason, the latter's departure should clear up any questions about this position for Carolina heading into the regular season. Pineiro (hamstring) is participating in practice Tuesday at June minicamp, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
Pineiro, who missed the final two games of Carolina's 2023 season due to a hamstring injury and has remained away from offseason activities while seeking a new contract, is now present at team facilities and appears healthy. Undrafted rookie Harrison Mevis is also present as an option to take reps in mandatory minicamp. Pineiro missed Carolina's last two games with a hamstring injury. Despite the Panthers' abysmal offense often restricting his scoring opportunities, Pineiro still clinched both of the team's victories with field goals as time expired. Although there is a potential out in Pineiro's contract for a new front office to evaluate this offseason, the veteran is currently slated to return to Carolina for the 2024 campaign.

Carolina signed Matthew Wright to the practice squad as insurance Tuesday, so Wright would handle kicking duties if Pineiro is unable to play this weekend.

Panthers' Eddy Pineiro: Doesn't play after pregame injury
Pineiro didn't log any snaps on special teams in Sunday's 26-0 loss to the Jaguars after experiencing tightness in his right hamstring during pregame warmups, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Pineiro was active for the contest, but after suffering the pregame injury, Carolina deemed him questionable to be available, according to Kaye. Linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill handled the opening kickoff in Pineiro's stead, and Carolina then bypassed a field-goal attempt on 4th-and-7 at the Jacksonville 21-yard line in pursuit of an unsuccessful first down. Carolina ultimately went three-and-out on its ensuing six possessions and fell into a 19-0 hole, after which attempting field goals became a moot point. Pineiro will presumably be sent in for further evaluation in the coming days, and if there's any concern he won't be available for the Week 18 finale versus the Buccaneers, Carolina will presumably add another kicker to its 53-man roster or practice squad.

Panthers' Eddy Pineiro: Misses two kicks
Pineiro missed two of three extra-point attempts and made his only field goal in Sunday's 33-30 loss to the Packers.
Pineiro's only multi-miss performance of the season came after he scored all of Carolina's points in Week 15's win. Although his field-goal make Sunday impressively came from 52 yards, Pineiro's misfires limited him to four points for the fourth time in six games.

Pineiro made all three of his field-goal attempts in Sunday's 9-7 win over the Falcons.
Pineiro scored all of Carolina's points, converting field goals from 34, 25 and 23 yards. His final kick came while time expired, giving the Panthers their second victory of the season. Through 14 games, Pineiro has made 40 of his 45 total attempts, accounting for 88 points.
