  • Eagles' Tanner McKee: Fails to make case for No. 2 job

McKee completed 13 of 21 passes for 115 yards and an interception in Saturday's 26-3 preseason loss to the Vikings. The 2023 sixth-round pick took over from Kenny Pickett to begin the season half, but McKee failed to lead the Eagles to points on any of his five drives and turned the ball over twice, getting sacked and fumbling the ball on his first snap and then chucking a red-zone interception on his last one. This was the Stanford product's last chance to make his case for the No. 2 quarterback job behind Jalen Hurts, but McKee wouldn't seem to have done enough to overtake Pickett on the depth chart.

  • Eagles' Tanner McKee: Working as emergency QB on Monday

McKee (coach's decision) is inactive and serving as the Eagles' emergency third quarterback in Monday's wild-card game against Tampa Bay. McKee didn't see any game action during the regular season, but he consistently handled emergency QB duties. That will be the case again Monday against Tampa Bay. Jalen Hurts will serve as Philadelphia's lead signal-caller, with Marcus Mariota backing him up.

  • Eagles' Tanner McKee: Handling emergency QB duties

McKee (coach's decision) is inactive for Monday's divisional contest against the Giants but will be available as Philadelphia's emergency quarterback. McKee continues to operate as Philadelphia's third-string QB, meaning he will be eligible to play Week 16 in the event that both Jalen Hurts and Marcus Mariota sustain injuries. He hasn't yet logged an appearance this season.

  • Eagles' Tanner McKee: Emergency QB for Week 14

McKee (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday night against the Cowboys but is dressing as the emergency quarterback. Just like he has for most of the season, McKee will be the QB3 and will only be eligible to enter Sunday's game if both Jalen Hurts and Marcus Mariota suffer in-game injuries.

  • Eagles' Tanner McKee: Emergency option again

McKee (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the 49ers but is dressing as the emergency quarterback. McKee will technically suit up, but he'll only be able to enter the game if both Jalen Hurts and Marcus Mariota suffer injuries.

  • Eagles' Tanner McKee: Serving as emergency QB

McKee (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jets but will serve as the emergency quarterback. Once again, McKee will technically be inactive but will be eligible to play if both Jalen Hurts and Marcus Mariota are sidelined by injury during the contest. McKee, a rookie sixth-round pick, has yet to appear in an NFL regular-season game.

  • Eagles' Tanner McKee: Inactive again Week 2

McKee (coach's decision) is inactive for Thursday's game against the Vikings. McKee has yet to dress for either of the Eagles' first two games of the season while he's stuck behind both Jalen Hurts and Marcus Mariota on the depth chart at quarterback. Unless one of the latter two players misses time at any point over the next 16 weeks, the rookie sixth-round pick out of Stanford will likely remain a fixture on the Eagles' inactive list.

  • Eagles' Tanner McKee: Newest QB in Philly

The Eagles selected McKee in the sixth round of the NFL Draft, 188th overall. McKee is a tall (6-foot-6), lanky signal-caller who lacks maneuverability in the pocket, essentially the exact opposite of star QB Jalen Hurts. The Eagles have always prioritized value at the QB position as opposed to scheme fits, so it's clear McKee's NFL arm enticed general manager Howie Roseman, but it's unlikely the Stanford product will push Marcus Mariota for the team's backup role.
