  • Vikings' Jordan Addison: Hopeful for Week 2

Coach Kevin O'Connell said Monday he's "hopeful" that Addison (ankle) will be available versus the 49ers in Week 2, Dane Mizutani of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. O'Connell said that Addison, who was forced out of Sunday's win over the Giants in the third quarter, is dealing with "significant soreness" in his right ankle. Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports that O'Connell also said the Vikings will be "smart" with Addison and that the second-year wideout's availability will depend on how he responds to treatment. If Addison does have to miss any time, an increased role behind Justin Jefferson could fall to Jalen Nailor, who scored a 21-yard touchdown on his only reception Week 1.

  • Vikings' Jordan Addison: Ankle injury not thought to be serious

Addison will undergo tests on his injured right ankle Monday, but the issue isn't thought to be a serious one, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Addison tended to a left high-ankle sprain last month that kept him off the practice field until Sept. 2, and he eventually avoided a designation for the Vikings' Week 1 road matchup with the Giants. However, he exited Sunday's eventual win in the third quarter and didn't return due to an injury to his other ankle. If Rapoport's report proves to be true, Addison may miss little, if any, time, but the aforementioned testing ultimately will determine if an absence is possible.

  • Vikings' Jordan Addison: Ruled out Sunday

Addison won't return to Sunday's game at the Giants due to an ankle injury, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports. Addison went to the locker room in the third quarter with members of the Vikings' training staff and was ruled out shortly thereafter. He'll thus end Week 1 with three catches (on four targets) for 35 yards. Further clarity on Addison's status may be relayed by coach Kevin O'Connell after Sunday's contest.

  • Vikings' Jordan Addison: No injury designation

Addison (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game at the Giants. Addison and fellow wideout Jalen Nailor (ankle) both upgraded to full practice participation Friday after being limited the previous two days. The Vikings enter Week 1 with their full complement of wide receivers, although it is possible Addison plays a few less snaps than usual or isn't at his best, considering he suffered a high-ankle sprain Aug. 14 and just returned to practice this Monday.

  • Vikings' Jordan Addison: Practicing Friday

Addison (ankle) is practicing Friday, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports. Addison said Thursday that he'll play in Sunday's game against the Giants and anticipates being at "100 percent" strength. He was a limited practice participant Wednesday and Thursday, after suffering a high-ankle sprain Aug. 14 and missing more than two weeks of practice.

  • Vikings' Jordan Addison: Vows to play Sunday

Addison (ankle) says he will play Sunday at the Giants even though he was limited in practice Thursday. "Physically, I'm feeling great," Addison told the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "I'm going to be 100 percent on Sunday and y'all are going to see." Addison revealed he suffered a high ankle sprain in practice Aug. 14, which is a little worrisome since the injury may have been worse than first thought. However, head coach Kevin O'Connell also said he was confident Addison will play. Addison will need to make it through another practice Friday before fantasy managers can feel confident he'll get a full workload Sunday.

  • Vikings' Jordan Addison: Leaves practice on cart

Addison was carted off the field during Wednesday's practice with an unspecified injury, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports. After leaping for a contested pass, Addison was visibly hobbled as he left the field with help from the Vikings' training staff. The nature of his injury isn't yet known but likely will be clarified once head coach Kevin O'Connell next speaks to the media.

  • Vikings' Jordan Addison: Oct. 7 hearing scheduled

Addison has an Oct. 7 arraignment and plea hearing scheduled in Los Angeles County Superior Court stemming from his citation last month for suspicion of driving under the influence, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports. Per Seifert, as a result of the July incident, Addison was charged with two misdemeanors -- driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with .08 percent blood alcohol content. The report adds that the wideout could potentially face an NFL suspension once his legal proceedings are complete. As the coming season approaches, Addison is slated to work as the Vikings' No. 2 wide receiver behind top option Justin Jefferson. As a rookie, Addison, a 2023 first-rounder, recorded 70 catches (on 108 targets) for 911 yards and 10 TDs in 17 regular-season contests.

  • Vikings' Jordan Addison: Spoke about July arrest

Addison, who was arrested July 12 in Los Angeles on suspicion of driving under the influence, said Wednesday that he is ready to face any discipline. "Whatever's out there for me," he said, "whatever comes with it, I'll own up to everything. I feel like anything that comes my way is meant to happen or is deserved," he told ESPN. However, no charges in the incident have been filed as of last week. Last summer, Addison pled guilty to a misdemeanor speeding charge after being cited for driving 140 miles per hour in Minnesota. The pattern of behavior could lead the NFL to discipline Addison, but the timing of any possible suspension remains in doubt. The NFL will likely let the legal process play out, which could stretch into the regular season. Addison's remarks, however, make it seem like he anticipates some kind of punishment from either the NFL or the legal system.

  • Vikings' Jordan Addison: WRs to Sit

I'd love to see Addison finish the season with a strong performance, but he's struggled down the stretch and will be tough to trust in Week 18 at Detroit. He's scored 10.9 PPR points or less in seven of his past eight games, including 5.8 PPR points or fewer in three of his past four outings. And he's been held to five targets or less in three of his past four games. He left the first game against Detroit in Week 16 with an ankle injury that he played through in Week 17 against Green Bay, and he likely isn't at 100 percent for the rematch with the Lions. It's a good thing that Nick Mullens is starting for the Vikings, but Addison should only be used in three-receiver leagues in Week 18.

  • Vikings' Jordan Addison: Listed as questionable

Addison (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Packers, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports. While unable to rejoin Sunday's loss to Detroit following his ankle injury in the second quarter, Addison returned to practice Thursday as a limited participant and now heads into the weekend looking truly questionable after another limited practice Friday. A game-time call would be tricky for a lot of fantasy managers, as the Vikings and Packers are the final matchup of the week with kickoff scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET on Sunday. If Addison doesn't play, Brandon Powell likely will fill in alongside Justin Jefferson and K.J. Osborn in three-wide formations. Meanwhile, rookie quarterback Jaren Hall will make his second career start, replacing Nick Mullens after the veteran's two starts produced a lot of yards and a lot of turnovers.

  • Vikings' Jordan Addison: Returns as limited participant

Addison (ankle) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday. After being held out of Wednesday's walkthrough, Addison was able to handle some on-field work one day later as he looks to miss no game action due to the ankle sprain that he suffered this past Sunday against the Lions. Head coach Kevin O'Connell called Addison "day-to-day" Tuesday, per Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com, but it remains to be seen if the rookie first-round pick will sidestep a designation ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Packers. Friday's injury report will unveil whether or not that's the case for Addison.

  • Vikings' Jordan Addison: No activity at walkthrough

Addison (ankle) was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's practice estimate. The Vikings held a walkthrough instead of an actual practice to begin Week 17 prep, but Addison didn't mix into any on-field work as he tends to the ankle sprain that he suffered during this past Sunday's loss to the Lions. On Tuesday, head coach Kevin O'Connell called Addison "day-to-day," per Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com, so the rookie wide receiver seemingly has a chance to suit up Sunday against the Packers. Addison's activity, if any, Thursday and Friday could help forecast his odds of playing this weekend.

  • Vikings' Jordan Addison: Deemed day-to-day by head coach

Head coach Kevin O'Connell classified Addison (ankle) as day-to-day Tuesday and wasn't willing to rule the receiver out for Sunday's game against the Packers, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports. O'Connell didn't go into many details regarding the severity of the ankle sprain that forced Addison out of this past Sunday's 30-24 loss to the Lions, but the "day-to-day" label paints a rosier picture of the rookie wideout's health after Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Monday that he was being considered week-to-week. O'Connell also announced Tuesday that star tight end T.J. Hockenson (knee) will miss the rest of the season, so if Addison's able to overcome his own injury, he could be in store for a larger target share behind top pass catcher Justin Jefferson over the final two games of the campaign.

  • Vikings' Jordan Addison: Viewed as week-to-week

Addison is considered week-to-week due to the ankle sprain he sustained during Sunday's 30-24 loss to the Lions, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Per Rapoport, added context regarding Addison's status should arrive once the wideout undergoes further tests Monday. Prior to his exit from Sunday's contest, the wideout played 21 of 55 snaps on offense, catching one of his four targets for two yards. If Addison is forced to miss this weekend's contest against the Packers, both K.J. Osborn and Brandon Powell would be in store for expanded reps behind No. 1 wideout Justin Jefferson.

  • Vikings' Jordan Addison: Suffers ankle injury Sunday

Addison exited Sunday's game against the Lions due to an ankle injury, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Addison visited the sideline tent after quarterback Nick Mullens' second interception of the game, when the rookie was the intended receiver. If Addison is unable to return, he'll finish Week 16 with one catch (on four targets) for two yards. K.J. Osborn and Brandon Powell are poised for more work alongside Justin Jefferson during Addison's absence.

  • Vikings' Jordan Addison: Sleeper WRs

Addison was great in his first start with Nick Mullens in Week 15 at Cincinnati with six catches for 111 yards and two touchdowns on six targets. That was also with Justin Jefferson back, so Addison will hopefully be fine with a new quarterback and a healthy receiving corps. This week, the Vikings should be throwing a lot at Detroit, and the Lions are No. 9 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers. There also have been four times this season where a pair of receivers have scored at least 13.2 PPR points against Detroit in the same game -- Week 2 (Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf), Week 5 (Adam Thielen and D.J. Chark), Week 10 (Keenan Allen, Jalen Guyton and Quentin Johnston) and Week 12 (Christian Watson and Jayden Reed) -- so Jefferson and Addison can both thrive in this matchup.

  • Vikings' Jordan Addison: Modest production with six catches

Addison secured six of 10 targets for 39 yards in the Vikings' 12-10 loss to the Bears on Monday. Addison led the Vikings in receptions and targets but finished third in receiving yards. Outside of his 14-yard grab, Addison averaged only 5.0 yards per reception, leading to his lowest tally in that category since his first encounter with the Bears back in Week 6. Justin Jefferson (hamstring) should have a good chance of returning to action for Minnesota's Week 14 road matchup against the Raiders following a Week 13 bye, so Addison could well see a downturn in targets beginning with that game.

  • Vikings' Jordan Addison: Limited to three catches in loss

Addison secured three of six targets for 44 yards in the Vikings' 21-20 loss to the Broncos on Sunday night. Addison finished third in receiving yards despite checking in second in targets for the Vikings on the night, as he took a rare back seat to multiple pass catchers in a game that was played with Justin Jefferson (hamstring) still unavailable. Addison's catch and yardage tallies were his lowest over the last five games, and with Jefferson potentially set to return for a Week 12 Monday night clash against the Bears on Nov. 27, Addison could soon officially slot back into a No. 2 role.
