BRUNSWICK, Ohio --- A fire at a home on Manitoulin Pike June 5 was contained to the attic area and brought under control within 15 minutes, but still caused an estimated $70,000 in damage, Brunswick Fire Chief James Baird said.
"It will be some time before (the family) is back," Baird said June 6. "But there were no civilian or firefighter injuries."
Brunswick Police Chief, Carl DeForest, said the residents of the home are temporarily staying with relatives in Strongsville.
Units from the Brunswick Hills and Hinckley fire departments assisted in fighting the blaze at 1157 Manitoulin Pike, which was called in at 9:52 p.m.
"By nature, attic fires are easier to contain and we were able to do that," Baird said. "The cause is under investigation and currently undetermined, but it has been determined that it was not malicious."
