Vegetation Index of Biotic Integrity surveys

Vegetation Index of Biotic Integrity (VIBI) surveys are conducted in wetlands throughout northeastern Ohio to gather botanical data used to gauge the health of the wetland. Stewardship recommendations are developed in part from results of the VIBI surveys.

Deer Exclosure Vegetation surveys

Surveys are conducted at many deer exclosures located on Museum preserves. The vegetation within deer exclosures—which are designed to protect rare and native vegetation—is surveyed on a regular basis and the data is used in monitoring the impact of deer populations on habitats where the exclosures exist.

Vegetation site surveys

Vegetation surveys conducted at field sites can include transect work, monitoring of vegetation at sites under stewardship, and general botanical inventories—typically for conservation, stewardship or outreach purposes.
