Marriott Mena House, Cairo
$$ | Egypt, Cairo, 6 Pyramids Road, Giza
There's no competing with Mena House's location at the foot of the Giza pyramids—we're talking once-in-a-lifetime views guaranteed from most corners of the property. The grounds have history, too, from when an 1800s hunting lodge for the Egyptian royal family stood here, to when it hosted the likes of Winston Churchill and Franklin D. Roosevelt. As tends to happen with hotels that have an incomparable selling point (see: pyramid-side location), the rooms in the main building are just fine. But nab a pyramid view room for a stay you won't forget—or keep an eye out for the palace rooms, which are undergoing renovations and should reveal a new level of luxury for the property in 2024 or 2025. —Megan Spurrell
