From Bodrum to Mykonos, Saint-Tropez, Portofino, the Bahamas and beyond, the summer season is heralding in a host of new designer boutiques, pop-ups and takeovers, adding a splash of style to already beautiful locations. You need never be without the latest designer accessories, resort wear or jewellery needed to finesse your holiday wardrobe.
Cartier at Mandarin Oriental Bodrum, Turkey
Located at the Mandarin Oriental Bodrum, alongside Hermes, Louis Vuitton and Chanel, Cartier’s newest store sits discreetly on the edge of the resort’s multi-level infinity pool, surrounded by manicured gardens overlooking the Aegean. Within its white-washed walls, a selection of the French maison’s jewellery collections, watches, resortwear and fragrances are set against a backdrop of woven raffia-patterned wallpaper that pays tribute to local artisanal crafts, and silky textiles that draw inspiration from the archipelago’s flora and marine life. The space is also home to a terrace and private lounge, where guests can relax while they discover pieces from signature collections such as Love, Juste un Clou and Clash de Cartier. At the centre of the boutique is a commanding mural of the brand’s signature panther, painted by longtime Cartier collaborator, French artist Francois Mascarello.
Missoni at Verdura Resort, Sicily, Italy
Given its Italian roots, it makes sense that Missoni would choose to launch a pop-up on the shores of southern Sicily this summer. The original purveyor of boho-luxe resortwear, Missoni’s signature zigzags can now be found populating a dedicated boutique in Rocco Forte’s Verdura Resort, where the collection’s colourways take their cue from the blues and greens of the surrounding Mediterranean seascape. Accompanying the display of ready-to-wear clothing, Missoni’s psychedelic prints also drench the resort’s beach club, transporting the label’s uplifting summer collection onto custom cabanas, loungers and even the pool bar.
Acqua di Parma, Place des Lices, Saint-Tropez, France
The sunshine glamour of Saint-Tropez, on the storied Côte d’Azur, has enticed a clutch of luxury brands, joined this summer by Acqua di Parma, which has set up shop in the picturesque Place des Lices. Designed in collaboration with French designer Dorothée Meilichzon, the pretty pied-à-terre is decked in the sun-drenched hues that are a signature of the Italian perfumer – and sells key fragrances alongside a new resort collection that includes Art de la Table tableware, a tote bag, tray and Buongiorno picnic basket, as well as a limited-edition car diffuser and pétanque set.
Chanel Boutique, Nammos Village, Mykonos, Greece
Housed in a whitewashed villa in Nammos Village, Chanel’s 142-square-metre boutique, set across two storeys, returns for summer 2024. In the heart of the island’s luxury shopping district, the boutique offers the new Chanel Coco Beach 2024 collection: towelling beach bags in candy-hued colourways, sports-inspired separates, a splash of summery denim and pretty pastel swimwear to be worn with a choice of chic shades, pool slides and beach bags stamped with interlocking Cs.
Four Seasons and Jacquemus, The Ocean Club Bahamas, Caribbean
Simon Porte Jacquemus continues to dominate summer style with his eponymous brand, this year partnering with The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort, Bahamas, a home-from-home for the international jet set since its inception in 1962. Situated in Carlo, the hotel’s permanent on-site boutique, Les Sculptures by Jacquemus pop-up presents looks from the spring/summer 2024 collection, the epitome of relaxed resort chic. Complementing the ephemeral boutique, the Bahamian bolthole’s iconic Versailles and Ocean pools have been given a Jacquemus makeover, saturating towels, parasols and throw cushions in a signature navy stripe.
Dioriviera at D Maris Bay, Turkey
At the intersection of the glittering Aegean and Mediterranean seas on the Datça Peninsula is the secluded Turkish resort of D Maris Bay, one of this season’s chosen addresses for a coveted Dioriviera boutique – pop-ups that can only be found in the most exclusive locations around the world. Housing a selection of Maria Grazia Chiuri’s playful summer apparel and accessories, displayed among custom bamboo furniture and sculptures of wild animals, the pop-up continues to the pool, where the world is seen through the rose-tinted lens of Dior, with coral-hued Toile de Jouy Soleil print splashed across sunloungers, deck chairs, cushions and parasols to picture-perfect effect.
Dolce & Gabbana, Le Carillon, Portofino, Italy
Located on the picturesque Bay of Paraggi within the Portofino National Park, the quaint Le Carillon beach club has been a haunt of Portofino high society since 1936. This summer, Dolce & Gabbana has taken up residence, introducing its new Verde Maiolica print across everything from the sun beds and parasols to the celebrated Vesta restaurant, injecting the brand’s playful approach to La Dolce Vita to the pretty seaside venue.
Pucci at Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo, France
The ultra-luxury spa Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo, part of the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo and Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, has been doused in the pop-colour prints of Pucci. The spa’s boutique has become an homage to the Italian label, showcasing a selection of pieces from the Very Vivara collection – named after the eponymous island off Capri – designed by Pucci’s artistic director Camille Miceli. Created in 1965, the iconic Vivara comes to life on kaftans, cover-ups, dresses and swimwear, and to complement your chosen look, the spa has been decorated with cushions, swim noodles, poufs and towels in the same retro print. End a day at the spa with a Pucci-inspired cocktail at Bar l’Atlantide.
Balmain at One&Only Aesthesis, Athens, Greece
Launched during a star-studded party hosted by Olivier Rousteing and attended by celebrity guests, including Kylie Minogue and Liam Hemsworth, the pool club at One&Only Aesthesis on the Athenian Riviera has been given a glamorous Balmain makeover for summer: the brand’s signature Labyrinth pattern of interlocking B and P motifs are emblazoned across towels, sun loungers, pool floats and stylish poolside cabanas. Opened last year, One&Only Aesthesis marks Kerzner’s debut hotel in Greece, now joined by the new One&Only Kéa Island, a short 20-minute boat ride off the coast.
Loro Piana at La Réserve à la Plage, Saint-Tropez, France
Returning for its second year, Loro Piana’s pop-up at La Réserve à la Plage on glamorous Pampelonne Beach in Saint-Tropez, invites followers of the Italian fashion brand to shop its timeless resort 2024 collection – printed kimono jackets, silk harem trousers and linen separates – before taking a pew on a Loro Piana-designed sun lounger to watch the world go by.
