ASAP Rocky welcomes us deeper into the long-gestating world of Don’t Be Dumb with his new track "Highjack," out today.

Speaking with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Rocky, who last rolled out a full-length studio experience with Testing back in 2018, looked ahead at the "new saga" soon set to be let loose on fans. The Jessica Pratt-featuring "Highjack," he explained, should be taken as a sign that "the real is back" to make good on the phonetic promise of the track’s title.

"Not only that, it's just we coming with a whole new aesthetic on everything, especially with German expressionism and the whole ghetto futurism GR1M thing," the two-time Grammy nominee said. "So that's just what the sound sounds like and whatnot. The sonics of it."

Lyrically, "Highjack" sees Rocky urging an unspecified party to not "compare that pussy boy to me," a line, like others in the song, that some listeners have been quick to speculatively connect to Drake.

On that front, we also have this:

Tired of them n***as sleepin' on me, I don't like naps
N***as fuck around and stole the flow and y'all like that?

Not to mention this, complete with a Rihanna reference:

These n***as want my wife bad, the people want my next track

Don’t Be Dumb is slated for Aug. 30. During his Zane chat, Rocky spoke at length about the six-year gap between Testing and Dumb, with the 35-year-old noting that much has happened for him personally in the years since his last album, not to mention the changes we’ve seen collectively as a society. Another contributing factor for the wait, per Rocky himself, is the quickness with which he might sometimes tire of a new song before it even gets a chance at going public.

"This is the most perfect time, but my opinion changes a lot," Rocky said.

Fans who have been paying close attention to what Rocky has said over the years about the long-in-the-works new album will note that none other than Morrissey has been mentioned as a collaborator on multiple occasions, though more recent teases and drop date confirmations have not included any word of his possible involvement with the final version of the project. Talking with Lowe on New Music Daily, however, Rocky made sure to tuck in a Morrissey confirmation.

The former The Smiths frontman will appear on a song by the name of "Hood Happy" alongside Slick Rick, Busta Rhymes, and Flavor Flav. It's not clear, at least as of now, whether Morrissey will appear elsewhere on Dumb.

Just over a year ago, Rocky spoke with Jordan Rose for Complex, resulting in the following summary of what his larger conceptual goal was for his latest chapter:

The death of the dummies is my new vibe.
