There’s an old saying that goes like this: “Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver and the other gold.” Sure, it’s a little cliché, but when it comes to shows *about* friendship, it definitely applies. You can never have too many.
If you’re like me, you probably thought the only show that fits this category is Friends. Totally fair—why shouldn’t we talk about what is one of the greatest series to ever hit television? But there are so many other options for you and your BFFs to choose from. Sure, a few might focus on just one person in the group, but hey—doesn’t everyone deserve a little time to shine? Just ask Carrie Bradshaw about it, because we all know that despite her being the star, we’re all probably actually Mirandas at heart.
We decided to curate a list of shows for you that not only celebrate friendships but will also truly make you think, Damn. I’m lucky to have these folks at my side. They may make you sing your heart out or they may make you laugh until your stomach hurts. But that’s what true friendship is all about.

'Friday Night Lights'
What's more important than friendships? High school football, that's what! Whether you're watching this for the sports action, the hot characters (Tim Riggins for life!) or maybe some relationship woes, there's no way you can't walk away from this series without chanting, "Clear eyes! 'The Bold Type'
When three friends all work in different departments at a major fashion magazine, you best believe there's a whole lot of drama. Although, personally, it's how they all interact with their sexy significant others that really makes this show a delight. Champagne, anyone?

Sure, this is relatively new in the list of shows premiering on Netflix, but Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke (both medical TV alums, BTW) starring as strained best friends? Yeah, sign me up for some feuding, hot sex and maybe an occasional epiphany.

Two best friends in their twenties trying to navigate life in NYC might not sound like the most revolutionary concept. But with real-life BFFs Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson starring? Um, please excuse me as I totally binge the show in one sitting.
'The Golden Girls'
Are you more like Blanche, or do you feel like you're more Rose? You and your friends definitely had this argument at some point, so why don't you binge it to confirm it?
'Brooklyn Nine-Nine'
If you ask me, this is the perfect show for Friends fans. Think of these characters as the Central Perk crew...if only they were cops, planned Halloween heists and attempted to sing "I Want It That Way" in an iconic cold open.
'Never Have I Ever'
Yeah, Devi is going through a lot in her personal life and wants to have sex with the hottest guy in school. Everything seems to be going according to plan, until she lies about the nature of her relationship status. It's equal parts raunchy and hilarious.
'Derry Girls'
It's the 1990s, and Ireland is going through major political upheaval. But these four girls (plus a male cousin) are all just trying to make it through adolescence in their little town of Derry. And trust us—after watching this show, it'll make you want to call your best friend for a good long chat.

Oh, there were so many problems with this show behind the scenes, which we absolutely don't want to get into. But between the great musical numbers and the love the New Directions glee club had for each other, why not celebrate your friends with a little karaoke?

And one is spending way too much time looking for the mother of his future children. But hey—maybe you'll get an idea for your next friendly Slapsgiving?
