When you're deep in the trenches of possibly being ignored to death, it can be hard to remember to stay calm and rational. Every awkward pause in a conversation can seem like the beginning of the end. Are they over it, or are they just busy? And are there any clues that can help determine whether or not you're about to be ghosted?

Lauren M., 24, submitted this conversation between her and her coworker, who matched on Tinder during the peak of their summer-long office flirtation:
Answer: Despite him strongly insinuating that they would see each other again after running into one another during lunch, Lauren literally never heard from him again.
Jane H., 25, had been dating this guy exclusively for four months but hadn't hung out with him in a month:
Answer: He didn't ghost. He was just MIA because he was going through a rough patch at work.
Hope A., 22, went on two "dates," had a couple drunken hangouts, and made out with this guy:
Answer: Yes, he ghosted. Turns out he was seeing someone else at the same time and started exclusively dating her shortly after.
Taylor A., 23, submitted this convo between her and a dude she swiped right on, but hadn't met.
Answer: Yep, ghosted.
Hannah C., 24, submitted this conversation between her and her girlfriend that she literally lives with.
Answer: No, she did not get dumped.
Esther F., 24, submitted a conversation with a woman she met on Tinder.

Answer: No, he didn't ghost, but took a full week to respond, at which point, she ghosted.
