Need a new series to binge watch? You're in luck because everyone is talking about Netflix's brand new sci-fi drama, Supacell, and we've explained the explosive ending to the season.

Created by Rapman, the show follows five ordinary south Londoners who discover they have extraordinary powers. Think invisibility, super strength, time travel and more!

Then, as they deal with the impact of their powers, one man must bring them together to save the love of his life. So, does Michael save Dionne? Plus, what is the cause of their superpowers? Here is the ending to Supacell explained.

The five are attacked

Michael and Rodney try to meet with Andre, but he doesn't arrive after being attacked by two hooded figures. Meanwhile, Sabrina is trying to track down her sister, Sharleen, and Michael and Rodney arrive at Sabrina's house to tell her that one of them might be attacked next.

Then, Tazer is attacked by two more hooded figures but Michael, Rodney and Sabrina arrive and a fight breaks out, with Rodney being seriously injured after being set on fire.

But, they escape and Michael teleports them to Sabrina's house, where we learn that Rodney is able to heal from his injuries immediately. Then, exhausted from using their powers, the five fall asleep and wake the next day.

Sickle cell disease causes the supacell

Meanwhile, Jasmine's father tells Dionne that his daughter, and everyone else with powers, is being held at Ashington Estate. At the facility, we find Andre bloodied, unconscious and handcuffed.

Then, Jasmine is dragged into the room by guards and uses her powers to help heal and wake him. Ray, the boss, then tells Andre that he knows about his super strength and would like to employ him to bring in more people with powers.

We learn that the powers, known as supacell, comes from one or both of their parents having sickle cell disease – a hereditary condition particularly common in Black people – or the trait. So, supacell is a mutation of sickle cell that can lay dormant or awaken after close proximity with another activated supacell.

The five go to Ashington Estate

Back at Sabrina's house, Krazy calls Tayo and threatens to kill his grandmother, to which Tayo tells him to meet and Krazy says he'll be at A-Town, which Rodney tells Sabrina means Ashington Estate.

Meanwhile, Dionne is already there after Jasmine's father asks her to investigate and Michael arrives soon after, to which he finally tells her that she is going to be killed in the near future. Sabrina and Rodney arrive, and they all head inside the crime-filled estate.

Inside, we see Andre's son, AJ, dealing drugs and Krazy arrives, to which Sabrina asks him where Sharleen is and attacks him. Then, Tayo appears with a knife in hand to attack Krazy, but the hooded figures arrive.

Krazy has the supacell

Michael is knocked out when the figures arrive and they also attack Dionne, meanwhile Sabrina warns Krazy that the hooded figures are dangerous. But, we learn that Krazy is, in fact, working with them and also has supacell.

A fight breaks out and the hooded figures are soon unmasked, with Andre being one of them, meaning they are just people with supacell employed to bring others with powers into the facility.

Soon, the hunters drag an unconscious Rodney, Sabrina and Michael to the portal, but Tayo appears and stabs Andre, before Michael stops time and asks Andre to join their side. The fight continues, with the united five knocking out all of the hunters.

But, Krazy wakes up and tells them that he can take Sabrina to Sharleen, there's others inside the facility that need saving and that Tazer's mother didn't abandon him but was inside the facility for years, with them killing her when she tried to escape.

Dionne is killed

Shockingly, Krazy then brutally stabs and kills the five and Dionne. But, Michael goes back in time and stabs Krazy before he kills them, yet Krazy manages to pick up a nearby gun and shoots it at Mike, to which Rodney uses his powers to move him out the way.

But, sadly, Dionne is shot instead and she dies in Michael's arms. A few days later, Michael asks Rodney, Tazer and Sabrina to meet and tells them he wants to go to the future to find out who hired the hunters, kidnapped Sharleen and murdered Tazer’s mother.

“I’m going to the future, getting all the information I can, and when I come back, they’re all gonna f***ing pay,” he said. Then, in the final scene, we go back to the facility where we see Sharleen crying and Ray visiting Krazy, who is resting after being rescued by the agency.

Krazy apologises for failing his mission but Ray’s boss, Victoria, arrives. She is the head of the sickle cell facility Michael's mother was staying in earlier in the season, and she tells Krazy that he won't get another chance, signalling a guard outside to shoot and kill him.

Victoria tells Ray that she's done letting him run his way. “Now we do things my way,” she says, as the credits roll. Season two as soon as possible, please!
