Kate Middleton made her Wimbledon return for the final day of the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club's annual Championships tournament in what is only her second public appearance – and first solo appearance – since she revealed her cancer diagnosis earlier this year. The palace had earlier confirmed the Princess of Wales' attendance at the men's final as part of her duties as the club's patron and president.

Kate took her seat in the Royal box alongside her daughter Princess Charlotte and her sister Pippa Middleton to watch the nail-biting final match between Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz, a repeat of last year's final that saw Alcaraz take the win again. And, just as she ensured her ensemble was on theme for the 2023 tournament's conclusion in a green Roland Mouret dress, this year Kate looked to Wimbledon's other signature colour for inspiration.

She stunned in an elegant royal purple dress from British label Safiyaa.

Kate wore a custom version of the brand's Cecilia dress that featured an altered neckline, cap sleeves and elegant draping across the bust. She accessorised with a tan top handle bag, By Pariah's gold Sabine hoops and coordinating gold cuff bracelets. Tan slingback heels from Camilla Elphick completed the look.

However, her most poignant accessory was the purple and green Wimbledon brooch that was pinned to her chest. More than just an additional embellishment, the brooch is a symbol of royal patronage and was gifted to Kate by Queen Elizabeth II when the 42-year-old took over the late Queen's role as patron in 2016. Since 2017, it has been a permanent adornment to her Wimbledon attire. Though this year, it perhaps holds additional meaning as donning a lavender ribbon is seen by many as a sign of support for those living with all types of illnesses, just as Kate herself currently is.

Just like the crowd who greeted her with cheers, we couldn't be more excited to see Kate return to Wimbledon.
