Kate Middleton will be attending the Wimbledon men's final today - and presenting a trophy to either Novak Djokovic or Carlos Alcaraz - Kensington Palace has confirmed. This follows tournament officials previously saying they were "hopeful" that the 42-year-old would be able to make a return to the prestigious event.

All England Club chair Debbie Jevans said: "We're hopeful that the Princess of Wales will be able to present the trophies as the Club's patron, but her health and recovery is the priority." The Princess has been a patron of the All-England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club since 2016.

Kate's Wimbledon attendance will mark her second public appearance since revealing her cancer diagnosis back in March - she was last seen in June for Trooping the Colour on the iconic Buckingham Palace balcony alongside her family.

At the time of Kate's cancer announcement, the palace also confirmed that she would be stepping back from royal duties while she undergoes preventative chemotherapy treatment.

Kate said on social media last month: "I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well."

During the message, she also noted that she hoped to "join a few public engagements over the summer," but added that she knows she is "not out of the woods yet."
