Description

These natural biological nematodes will protect houseplants and propagated seedlings from damage by the fungus/sciarid fly.

Damp conditions and organic plant matter provide an ideal breeding ground for the larvae, which feed on plant roots causing damping off and seedling collapse.

Applied as directed, the nematodes will enter the insect’s larvae, producing a natural bacterium to kill them off. Infected larvae will be completely broken down.

The nematodes also reproduce inside the larvae, releasing more into the surrounding area.

How to apply:

Apply when damage to plants or fungus fly activity has been observed. Fungus fly can occur all year round and can be treated at any time it occurs.

Choose a wet or humid day to apply. Nematodes are UV-sensitive and will not survive long when exposed to bright, sunny conditions. Apply the nematodes early in the morning or early in the evening in order to utilise the optimum humidity levels.

Soil or compost temperatures should be above 10 degrees C for the nematodes to be active.

1. Open and empty the contents into a 1 litre (1000ml) bucket or container of lukewarm water and mix thoroughly.

2. Add the nematode concentrate to a watering can and add more water to dilute. This should be at least 1 litre.

3. Mix for one minute to distribute the nematodes evenly in the solution.

4. Apply immediately to pots/containers/seed trays, directly into the growing media/compost, using all the solution.

Fungus fly killer nematodes are harmless to humans, and safe to apply to edible plants. This pack will treat up to 20 square metres or 50 houseplants.

Please note: unopened nematode packs can be stored in a fridge but it is best to apply your nematodes as soon as possible for the best results.
