Strictly's Oti Mabuse says she's in 'the trenches' in new update

Oti Mabuse has shared an emotional update on motherhood with her fans, saying she is "re-entering the trenches again." The former Strictly professional announced the arrival of her first child in a Christmas Instagram post last year.

The 33-year-old, who is a judge on 's Dancing on Ice, has admitted that she's been back in hospital with her daughter and she's experiencing "teething" and a "high temperature."

Posting to her official Instagram story, Oti is seen cuddling her daughter at 3:48am and she attempts to sooth her back to sleep. She also shared that her baby is changing her sleeping pattern.

This isn't the first time that Oti has shared difficulties with motherhood, as her baby spent six weeks in hospital following the birth. She also said that the ordeal was "traumatic" and that she was diagnosed with sepsis.

Speaking on the Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast, she explained that her daughter was born "prematurely" in October and was put in an incubator with jaundice.

Oti recalled: "She was very premature, she came really, really early - unexpected premature which was a big, big shock. Going through that emotional trauma that you go through when you have a premature baby, and then being in hospital with the little one for six weeks and then finally coming out and having her home with friends and family over Christmas was really nice."

She added: "She was in a critical condition really for the first six weeks and me and Marius just really wanted to be there mentally, physically, emotionally.

"My mum stopped everything and flew directly to England just to be with us. Things don’t always go to plan, especially when you have a little premature baby. You give birth, you hug and then the baby gets taken away."

Oti has not revealed the name of her baby daughter, who she shares with husband Marius Iepure. She also admitted that she was told by doctors that she was diagnosed with sepsis.

The Dancing on Ice star added: "It was this moment of, I’ve been through this amazing birth, which was incredible. It was serene, it was happy and it was everything that I wanted. The last bit was not what I had wanted. [...]

"I think we didn’t hold her for about a week because she was still in an incubator with the wires, and with jaundice so she was under blue light. And she had infections because it turned out that I had sepsis."
