Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will struggle to recover from claims they are "whingers" following a "terrible" snub from a Hollywood executive, an expert has claimed.

Royal commentator Lee Cohen was discussing how public attitudes to Harry and Meghan have changed over the years, pointing to the time when a Spotify executive claimed the Sussexes were "f****** grifters".

Bill Simmons said the title of the series the streaming giant should have launched with the couple should have been called "The f****** grifters". The snub came after Meghan's podcast was dropped by Spotify after one series.

Mr Cohen, who was a UK policy adviser to the US Congress, told The Sun: "It all started to change through so many factors and then you have executives in Hollywood calling them... 'expletive' grifters. Now that [was] just broadcast everywhere and social media created hashtags calling them 'Harry and Meghan are grifters' - what a terrible label to have.

"Grifters is so at the other end of the spectrum from, you know, the Royal Family. It's unbelievable. But that 'grifters' comment will stay with them forever and they're now the butt of Hollywood jokes by comedians and [in] cartoons... Everyone has their number, which is that they're whingers, complainers, hypocrites, all of this.

"Quite frankly I don't know how they can recover from it."

Zara Tindall's scathing 10-word comment to Prince Harry about his wedding to Meghan Markle

Zara Tindall made a scathing 10-worded comment to Prince Harry about his wedding to Meghan Markle six years ago.

The Duke of Sussex married the former actress on May 19, 2018 at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, with Zara and many other royals in attendance.

J ust five months after Harry and Meghan's wedding, Princess Eugenie tied the knot with Jack Brooksbank at the very same venue - which led to Zara's cheeky comment.

Zara was spotted turning in her seat at Eugenie's wedding to look at Harry, with a lip reader pointing out that she cheekily said to her cousin: "It's very quiet compared to the screaming at your wedding."

In response to the comment about the 'screaming', which may have been in relation to Bishop Michael Curry's speech at the Sussexes' wedding, Harry replied: "Mine?"

Author reveals how King Charles really feels about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

King Charles has been "hurt" by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's public comments about the Royal Family and wants to "get on with life", according to a royal author.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have unleashed a series of sensational claims about the royals since stepping down as senior working members of the Firm and moving to the US in 2020.

The frosty relationship between the two camps is even more evident now, with Meghan not having set foot in Harry's home country since 2022 and the duke failing to meet with his father and brother, Prince William, during his last trip back to the UK in May.

Now royal author Robert Hardman claimed in his book Charles III: New King. New Court. The Inside Story that the monarch has had enough of hearing the Sussexes' perspective and wants to "get on with life".

Mr Hardman wrote: "Of course, the King is extremely sad about Harry and Meghan but there is a sense of exasperation, that he has done what he can and now he is King, there are many more things to think about."

Prince George, Charlotte and Louis' £8,000 Disney-themed gift from uncle Prince Harry

Prince Harry once splashed out £8,000 for an extraordinary gift for his youngest nephew Prince Louis, as a present for his christening in July 2018.

The gift was inspired by a touching memory of his life with his late mother, Princess Diana, as she loved collecting first editions of classic books.

Consequently Harry paid thousands for an original copy of A.A. Milne's beloved Winnie the Pooh, which dates from 1926, and was no doubt enjoyed by Prince George and Princess Charlotte too during family reading time.

A friend said: "One of Harry's happiest childhood memories was being read a bedtime story by his mother. She loved all the old classics and Harry had the brilliant idea of starting a little library of first editions for Louis, Charlotte and George to enjoy as they get older.

"He originally wanted to get Lewis Carroll’s Through The Looking Glass, which was on sale for £24,000, but decided Winnie-The-Pooh would be more suitable for a first tome. Robinson Crusoe was William’s favourite book, but Harry loved all things A.A. Milne."

Meghan Markle's dad compared himself to King Charles while slamming Harry and his daughter

Meghan Markle's father, Thomas Markle, previously compared himself to King Charles as according to him they both experience similar situations with the Sussexes while battling health issues.

Mr Markle, who is celebrating his 80th birthday today, told the Mail back in June that he feels "deep empathy" for the monarch and that he would love to speak to him "because I am sure he has as many unanswered questions as I do."

The King was diagnosed with a form of cancer back in February and while he's now returned to public-facing duties he's still undergoing treatment for it.

Meghan's dad said: "Neither of us deserves the treatment we’ve received. He is going through cancer treatment and I’m not in the best of health. I’m not afraid of dying. It is what it is."

He added: "I have so many questions I’d like to ask Meghan and Harry. The main one being, why have they treated not only me but the Royal Family and the King so badly."

Meghan Markle misses dad Thomas's 80th birthday after six-year feud

Meghan Markle has not spoken to her father Thomas since 2018, and is not expected to reach out to him today despite it being his 80th birthday.

The Duchess of Sussex once had a close relationship with her father, despite him separating from her mother Doria Ragland when she was very young.

However, things started to fall apart after news of her engagement to Prince Harry became public, as it emerged not long before their May 2018 wedding that Thomas Markle had staged paparazzi photos.

It was alleged that he had arranged for the photos to be taken in order to improve his public image, but the idea backfired as it instead deeply embarrassed Kensington Palace.

The Palace had insisted that Mr Markle was a private individual with no interest in working with the media, but that was not the only thing that kept him from attending the Sussex wedding.

The Duchess of Sussex described how she makes the same resolutions every year which she fails to keep, particularly after she has had a "few drinks".

Back in January 2016 and just months before she met future husband Prince Harry, the former Suits actress took to her now-defunct blog The Tig to talk about her "unladylike" habits she'd been trying to give up.

Meghan wrote: "Run a marathon. Stop biting my nails. Stop swearing. Re-learn French. These make my New Year’s resolution list nearly (AKA actually every) single year.

"The marathon hasn't happened. The swearing comes in lulls triggered by being overworked or feeling mighty cheeky after a couple of drinks."

Meghan Markle is "still less popular" than the Princess of Wales in her own country as the Sussex brand receives yet another blow following Prince Harry's acceptance of the Pat Tillman Award for Service, a recent poll has shown.

The Duchess of Sussex has seen her popularity plunge in the US and the UK ever since she and husband Prince Harry quit their royal duties and moved to America in 2020.

But even though her brand, American Riviera Orchard's soft launch in March helped boost her favourability with the American public slightly, it still stays far behind that of other British royals like the Prince and Princess of Wales and even her husband.

Overall, Prince William and Princess Kate are viewed more favourably than Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
