A-Levels. Even the royals have then. With results day tomorrow, many students around the country will be thinking about nervously opening their letters to find their grades.

It's a moment shared by many members of the Royal Family whose results have been revealed over the years.

Some of the grades obtained by the monarchy might surprise you, and one royal didn't sit any exams at all.

The most recent graduate is the daughter of Duchess Sophie and Prince Edward, Lady Louise Windsor, 20, who got high-flying results that landed her at St Andrews University where she is studying English.

You might remember her that her cousin, Prince William, also attended the university where he famously met his now-wife Princess Kate.

Princess Kate

Princess Kate has an impressive academic past and is known for her competitive streak, which makes sense when you consider her grades.

She outdid husband William, getting As in both Maths and Art, and a B in English at Marlborough College in Wiltshire.

Before studyng History of Art at St Andrews, the Princess of Wales went to Edinburgh University. It's a good thing she switched as she may never have met William otherwise.

Like William, Prince Harry also went to Eton. Here, he achieved a B in Art and D in Geography at A-level.

The Duke of Sussex was more focused on extracurriculars as he was the House Captain of Games, representing the school at polo, cricket and rugby and was a member of the Combined Cadet Force.

He didn't go to university and instead signed up for the British Army.

King Charles

King Charles attended Gordonstoun in the Scottish highlands, where he obtained five O-levels (GCSE equivalents) and two A-levels, achieving a B in History and a C in French.

And that was enough to get him into the prestigious Cambridge University where he got a 2:2 for a History degree. He also studied a term at the University College of Wales in Aberystwyth, studying Welsh history and the Welsh language.

He was the first heir apparent to go to university.

Queen Elizabeth II

The late Queen Elizabeth didn't go to a public school, and until her uncle Edward VIII’s abdication in late 1936, she was taught by a governess every day from 9.30am until 11am.

The late monarch never sat for any exams and after her home schooling was done, she was taught the necessary skills she needed to know as the future queen.

For example, she was taught constitutional history by the vice provost of Eton College, Henry Marten.

Princess Diana

The late Princess Diana actually failed her exams twice. As a teenager she worked as a nanny before she met King Charles.

She was just 16 when the pair met and then married at 20 when she assumed royal responsibilities and therefore did not have time for studies.
