Spent is ready to make its debut and viewers are curious to know who will star in the BBC series.

After Mia’s career as a catwalk model comes to an end in the US, she moves back to London and finds herself sofa surfing and struggling for money, much to her dismay.

Ahead of its premiere on Monday, July 8 at 10, on BBC Two, here’s all there is to know about the cast.

Who stars in Spent on BBC Two? 

Mia - Michelle de Swarte 

Leading the cast of Spent as Mia is actress and Spent writer, Michelle de Swarte.

The 43-year-old was inspired to write Spent following her own modelling career, having worked with major brands like Dolce and Gabbana and Tommy Hilfiger.

In terms of her acting work, Swarte was the lead in Sky’s horror series The Baby in 2022, and has appeared in Netflix’s The Duchess and Dirty Digest.

Chrissy - Juliet Cowan

Mia’s mum Chrissy is oblivious to her daughter’s struggles, completely unaware that she is penniless and assumes she’s still a successful model.

Actress Juliet Cowan starred as Nina in the comedy Cuckoo with comedian Greg Davies.

She has also been in EastEnders, Silent Witness, This Life and Casualty.

Jo - Amanda Wilkin

Mia isn’t able to tell the truth to either her mum or her best friend Jo who is getting married.

Jo is played by actress Amanda Wilkin who has been in Until I Kill You, Finding Alice, The Girlfriend Experience and The Split.

Teddy - Karl Collins

Another of Mia’s friends is Teddy but this time, it is him who is in need of her help.

Fans of Karl Collins will remember him as Danny Glaze in The Bill, Louis Loveday in Hollyoaks and Jack Whiteley in Magpie Murders.

Mills - Matt King

When Mia sees her life isn’t exactly going according to plan, she turns to her sleazy agent for advice.

Actor Matt King will be remembered for portraying Super Hans in the iconic sitcom Peep Show.

Spent premieres on Monday, July 8, at 10pm on BBC Two.
