ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - According to the American Parkinson Disease Association, Parkinson’s Disease is the fastest-growing neurological disease in the United States.

The APDA is partnering with 4YOU, sponsored by Onder Law, to spread awareness about the disease. While tremors are typically associated with Parkinson’s, the nonprofit also wants people to look out for other symptoms.

The APDA said the most common motor symptoms, other than tremors, can include rigidity, postural instability, walking/gait difficulties, and vocal changes.

Non-motor-related symptoms can include losing the sense of smell, sleep problems, depression and anxiety, fatigue, cognitive decline, gastrointestinal issues, weight loss, and more.
