Capital One Venture X Launches New Travel and Dining Perks

The Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card is one of the most popular travel cards. While it has a $395 annual fee, it's easy to get your money's worth if you're able to use this card's benefits.

Capital One recently launched exclusive new benefits for its Capital One Venture X Card holders. If you have the card, or you're thinking about getting it, here's a look at these special perks.

A culinary journey through Piedmont, Italy with PRIOR

• Dates: Oct. 16 through Oct. 19, 2024
• Cost: $3,200 or 400,000 miles per person

Feel like taking a luxury vacation in Italy this fall? Capital One is offering Wine and Truffles in Piedmont with Chef Ugo Alciati.

Piedmont is home to the rare white truffle. As part of this four-day experience, you'll go on a truffle hunt and attend the Alba White Truffle Fair. You'll also go to a wine tasting, learn how to make pasta from Michelin-starred chef Ugo Alciati, and dine at two Michelin-starred restaurants:

• Guido Ristorante (one Michelin star)
• Piazza Duomo (three Michelin stars)

Since this is available to book through Capital One Entertainment, it's not the best use of your miles. You'll only get $0.008 per mile. You may want to pay in cash and save your rewards for the flight to Italy.

New York Fashion Week: Dinner at the Runway

• Date: Sept. 10, 2024
• Cost: $1,000 per person

Fashion lovers can get premium access to Wiederhoeft's runway show through this cardholder exclusive. After the show, there will be cocktails, remarks from the designer, and a private multi-course dinner. This experience can only be booked in cash, not miles.

Luxury vacation rentals

Earlier this year, Capital One added vacation rentals to its Premier Collection and Lifestyle Collection. The Premier Collection is only available to Venture X (and Venture X Business) cardholders, while the Lifestyle Collection is also available with a few other credit cards from Capital One. To book a vacation rental, go to Capital One Travel, select "Premium Stays," and then select "Vacation rentals."

With the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card, you earn 5X miles on vacation rental bookings through Capital One Travel. You could pay in miles and get a value of $0.01 per mile. But I'd recommend saving your miles for a transfer to a travel partner -- you can get much more value this way.

There are also a few other special perks for Premier Collection and Lifestyle collection bookings:

• Premier Collection: Get a $100 experience credit to use during your stay, and early check-in and late checkout when available.
• Lifestyle Collection: Get a $50 experience credit to use during your stay, and early check-in and late checkout when available.

Lounge access to upgrade your air travels

This isn't a new perk, but it's one of the card's most valuable features, so it's worth mentioning. As a Capital One Venture X Card holder, you get complimentary airport lounge access for yourself and up to two guests. You'll be able to access over 1,300 lounges, including:

• Capital One Lounges
• Priority Pass (enrollment required)
• Plaza Premium Group

Priority Pass is the largest of these lounge programs, by far. Its lounges vary in quality, but they're just about always better than the boarding area.

Capital One Lounges are also worth a mention, as they're fairly new and getting excellent reviews so far. There's one each in the Denver, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Washington Dulles airports.

Most of these recent additions to the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card are luxury benefits. That's not always the case, though, as it has also offered more budget-friendly perks in the past. If you're a cardholder, make sure to keep an eye out for these special features and offers.
