Chase offers a variety of credit cards, from some of the best travel credit cards to valuable cash back credit cards. It even has great balance transfer credit cards. You probably know about the rewards, but do you know about all the Chase credit card benefits?
For instance, did you know that if you're renting a car, Chase credit card benefits might provide auto insurance? Or that if you have to cancel a trip last minute, you might qualify for a refund through your Chase credit card benefits?
All of this and more is explained in this comprehensive guide to the most important Chase credit card benefits.
The best Chase credit cards offer some form of coverage when it comes to rental cars. In order to take advantage, you'll need to complete the entire transaction, including the initial hold, on your Chase credit card. You must also decline any coverage offered by the rental car agency, which will usually be offered as a CDW or LDW. Otherwise, you won't be eligible to use the coverage offered by your Chase credit card.
Chase credit card benefits offer coverage for rental vehicles in the United States and most foreign countries. Coverage only applies to vehicles that are rented for 31 consecutive days or fewer.
Most credit cards provide only secondary coverage, but your Chase credit card benefits offer primary coverage depending on which card you have. Primary coverage applies before your personal car insurance and often covers full damages in the case of collision or theft. Secondary coverage only comes into effect after your own personal car insurance has been used, meaning you have to report the accident to your insurance company, and it often comes with a deductible.
The table below shows which Chase credit cards offer primary rental car coverage and how much they cover. You'll notice that the Chase Sapphire Reserve® stands out because it offers coverage for exotic and expensive cars up to the coverage maximum of $75,000. Additionally, if you have a business credit card, you must be driving for business purposes in order to receive insurance.

Most valuable purchases come with a manufacturer's warranty, but these warranties last for a limited amount of time. Have you ever wondered what happens if your laptop fails just after your manufacturer's warranty has ended? That's where extended warranty protection comes in, and luckily, it's one of the many Chase credit card benefits.
Extended warranty protection extends the warranty offered by the manufacturer on eligible purchases. If you bought that laptop with a credit card with extended warranty protection, there's a chance that you might still be covered by a warranty even after your manufacturer's warranty has expired.
Chase credit card benefits extend manufacturer's warranties of three years or less by one year on many of their cards. Chase's extended warranty protection covers a maximum of up to $10,000 per claim and $50,000 per account. Some excluded products include boats, automobiles, and other motorized vehicles, computer software, pre-owned items, and items purchased for resale or professional use.
Don't you wish you could take a peek inside a credit card expert's wallet sometimes? Just to see the cards they carry? Well, you can't look in anybody's wallet, but you can check out our experts' favorite credit cards. Get started here:
Price protection was eliminated as one of the Chase credit card benefits as of Aug. 26, 2018. If this is a benefit you're interested in, some Citi credit cards still offer limited price protection.
Many travelers purchase pricey travel insurance plans to cover unforeseen cancellations or trip interruptions without realizing that they may already have coverage. The best Chase travel credit cards, such as the Chase Sapphire cards, offer some level of trip cancellation/interruption insurance as part of their Chase credit card benefits. No-annual-fee credit cards with slimmer Chase credit card benefits typically don't include trip cancellation/interruption insurance.
Assuming you have an eligible reason, trip cancellation insurance gives protection in case you have to cancel your travels before your trip. It will reimburse any non-refundable, prepaid expenses, such as hotel reservations or flight tickets. Trip interruption covers you if your trip is interrupted by a qualifying event. It reimburses the portion of your trip you were unable to complete.
Eligible reasons for trip cancellation or interruption include accidental injury, illness, or the death of you or a family member, severe weather, terrorist action, uninhabitable accommodation, quarantine imposed by a medical professional, and a change in military orders.
Chase's cash back credit cards, such as the Chase Freedom Flex® and Chase Freedom Unlimited®, offer a relatively lower protection limit of $1,500 per person and $6,000 total for everyone on the trip. This makes the Chase Freedom cards a great option for folks who want some travel protection but prefer cash back rewards to Ultimate Rewards points. If you want more robust travel protections, most of Chase's main travel credit cards -- the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, and the United Club℠ Infinite Card -- provide up to $10,000 per person or $20,000 per trip in trip cancellation or interruption insurance. The Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card also comes with decent trip insurance -- up to $5,000 per person or $10,000 per trip. Either way, this is secondary insurance, meaning any travel insurance you've purchased will kick in first.

It can be difficult to get a reasonable reimbursement from an airline when your baggage is delayed or lost. If your bags are lost or delayed and you have to purchase items like toiletries and clothing, the Chase credit card benefits may get you a fairer reimbursement.
You will have to file a claim with the airline first. After that, most Chase travel credit cards will cover anything the airline and your travel insurance won't, up to a certain limit. That limit depends on the credit card you have, but it's usually a reimbursement for essential items of up to $100 per day for up to three or five days if your baggage is delayed. If it's lost, you can be reimbursed for the value of your belongings, up to $3,000 per person.
The best Chase credit cards for baggage delay insurance are The Ritz-Carlton Rewards Credit Card®, the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, the The World of Hyatt Credit Card, and the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card. These credit cards reimburse up to $100 per day for essential items for up to five days.
While all the issuer's cards come with Chase credit card benefits, the cards differ on their exact coverage. Chase's travel credit cards, like the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card card, reward spending on travel -- with bonus categories like travel and dining -- and offer more travel-related benefits. Their premium credit cards with high annual fees, such as the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, also reward travel spending and usually offer the highest coverage limits. If you travel often enough, an annual fee can be worth it for better coverage and the chance to earn Chase Ultimate Rewards points at a faster rate. If you don't travel enough, check out these travel cards with no annual fee.
If you're searching for the best Chase card for you, the table below compares the Chase credit card benefits offered by some of the best Chase credit cards.

Chase credit card benefits are extremely valuable, but the issuer's cash back and travel rewards (Ultimate Rewards points) are easily the best perk of having a Chase card. If you're having trouble deciding between the best Chase credit cards, look at the Chase credit card benefits like purchase protection, rental car insurance, and travel insurance. Whether you're considering the Chase Sapphire line, the Chase Freedom line, or a co-branded Chase card, these can be a great way to make sure you're getting the most out of whichever Chase card you choose. Additionally, comparing the top credit card offers can help you decide which card is best suits your needs.
