Szekasy, who was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, is the cofounder and managing partner of Kaszek. It is the largest venture firm in Latin America, having raised over $3 billion since its launch in 2011.
The firm has invested in more than 120 startups, including Brazil's digital bank Nubank. The bank has developed digital security solutions. This includes limiting on payments and transactions when not connected to a trusted Wi-Fi network.
Other notable early stage Kaszek investments include real estate platform QuintoAndar, secured loan provider Creditas, crypto exchange Bitso and plant-based food company NotCo.
Prior to Kaszek, Szekasy served as chief financial officer for Mercado Libre, Latin America's largest online commerce and payments company. In 2007, he led its $333 million IPO.
Szekasy received an MBA from Stanford University and graduated from the University of Buenos Aires with a degree in Economics.
