DANIEL BENAIM is Deputy Assistant Secretary for Arabian Peninsula Affairs in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs at the U.S. Department of State. From 2013 to 2015, he was Middle East Policy Adviser and a foreign policy speechwriter to the U.S. Vice President.
