Goodyear shooting leaves woman dead, husband arrested
GOODYEAR, Ariz. - A man accused of shooting and killing his wife in a Goodyear neighborhood has been arrested.
The shooting happened just before 5 p.m. on July 6 near Estrella Parkway and Tanglewood Drive.
Goodyear Police say 67-year-old Michael Gelleny called them to report a shooting involving his wife, 65-year-old Brenda Gelleny.

Officers responded to the home and found Brenda dead. Michael was taken into custody.
According to court documents, Michael claimed his wife had been suffering from pain for more than four years, so he decided to end her life.
Michael Gelleny was booked into jail and is being held on a $1 million cash bond.
