GM Joe Schoen inducted into Indiana Football Hall of Fame

Joe Schoen was recently inducted into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame.

The Giants' general manager attended Elkhart Memorial High School, where he was a four-year player and the 1997 recipient of the Tim Bringle Memorial Award, which is presented annually to the top high school senior male athlete at Elkhart Community Schools.

He then enrolled at DePauw University, a Division III program in Greencastle, Ind, where he was a quarterback as a freshman and wide receiver his final three years.

Schoen was a three-year letterman, served as a captain during his senior season, and set a school record for receptions in a season with 80.

Region 2 (St. Joe Valley Chapter) of the Indiana Football Hall of Fame inducted Schoen and seven others as their Class of 2024.

The Class of 2024 included:

  • Joe Schoen (Contributor) – Elkhart Memorial High School, DePauw University and currently the General Manager of the New York Giants
  • Joe Boland (Pioneer) – Notre Dame player and local broadcaster
  • Bill Bilinski (Contributor) – Sports editor for the South Bend Tribune
  • Marcus Carpenter (Player) – Jimtown High School and the University of Wisconsin
  • William Henry Givens (Player) – South Bend Washington High School and the University of Oklahoma
  • Dwayne O'Conner (Player) – Concord High School and Purdue University
  • Ross Perri (Pioneer) – Coached at Mishawaka, Marian, Bremen, John Glenn, SB Riley, Penn, and Edwardsburg
  • Billy Seymour (Player) – Penn High School and the University of Michigan
