When Tata Harper came along in 2010, they transformed the natural skin-care product category, which is now carried at luxury retailers like Bluemercury, Sephora, and Nordstrom. Now, back to the products. They’re all made without synthetic ingredients, artificial colors, or fragrances, and many of the ingredients are grown on the brand’s Vermont farm, where the products are formulated, filled, and shipped. Products that aren’t native to Vermont are specially sourced from 68 countries around the world. Sustainability is also top of mind for the brand, which is why it is certified by Ecocert, as well as the American Vegetarian Association, and uses 100% recyclable containers.

As much as I want to love Tata Harper’s leave-on products, the high amounts of botanicals (as good as they smell) send me straight to Breakout Town. So I’m super appreciative of the Superkind line, which is made with sensitive skin in mind. My favorite is this yummy eye cream, which has an icing-like texture and plumps and hydrates my flaky undereyes. I always loved Tata Harper moisturizers, but I rarely used them because the heavy botanical formulations would irritate my keratosis-pilaris-prone skin immediately. (I would break out overnight.) Not with the Superkind moisturizer, though. The texture and scent are exactly what you’d expect—floral, sweet, yummy—except it was formulated for people with sensitive skin in mind. Meaning I can (and do!) use this every morning and night without fear of breaking out. Neither too heavy nor too thin, it’s a great year-round product to have on deck.
