377th Theater Support Command (TSC)

The 377th Theater Support Command (TSC) of today is the result of a long and proud history of dedicated service and command excellence. Its members are participants in a long-standing tradition of military professionalism who proudly contribute to the civilian community. The citizen soldiers of the TSC owe a great deal to those who have gone before and continue to forge a vital link in the total force concept.

The unit was activated in New Orleans, LA. in November of 1948 as the 377th Transportation Major Port. On September 11, 1950 the 377th was called to Camp Kilmer, NJ. Later, the unit moved to Fort Eustis, VA. and stayed on active Federal Service until October 10, 1952. From 1953 until 1963, the 377th remained in a Reserve status and experienced several changes in unit designation.

On December 31, 1965, the unit was re-designated as the 377th Support Brigade under the Army Logistical Concept. On October 16, 1979, it was renamed the 377th Corps Support Command. It retained the designation until July 16, 1981 when it was designated as a Theater Army Area Command. ON October 1, 1998 the TAACOM wartime mission expanded and the unit designation was change to the 377th Theater Support Command.

The TSC serves as a Force Support Package unit with an ongoing support mission in its area of operation. Over 500 downtrace units throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands provide support to the TSC for training and wartime mission guidance. Whether at home station, deployed across the country or overseas, the TSC trains to achieve its peacetime and wartime mission of providing command and control of assigned units to ensure and maintain a high state of readiness. The TSC prepare wartime-aligned units to accomplish their mission by developing, executing and evaluating training. The TSC provides daily logistics support to its' wartime higher headquarter for missions and exercises.

The 377th TSC's wartime mission is to deploy with assigned units as part of an U.S. force and/or coalition force. It conducts Combat Service Support Operations for the U.S. Army and other U.S. and/or allied forces in or passing through its' area of operations.
