�Research and Production Association �PRACTIKA� is full production cycle enterprise that specialize in manufacturing of vehicles of special purpose. The company was founded in 1993 and now is private joint-stock company and legal entity registered according to the Ukraine Law. The founder and 100% actions holder is Dr. Vysotskyi Oleg Nikolaevich. �PRACTIKA� is founding member of �League of defense companies of Ukraine� umbrella organization that unites Ukrainian private manufacturers of military products. Since 1997 major profile of activity is manufacturing of specialized vehicles of various types, such as ambulances, police vehicles, armored civil vehicles, cash-in-transit vehicles, armored VIP-cars etc. During the years of company existence, it produced approximately 4300 different vehicles including the largest project of manufacturing of 1159 ambulances for the Ministry of Health of Ukraine in 2013-2014.

The lounges Arms & Security (13th edition) and Aviasvit (21th edition) took place in the International Exhibition Center in Kiev. Nearly 230 exhibitors, mainly Ukrainian, presented their latest productions, but also some concepts, to demonstrate the extent of their technological skills. Other foreign producers were also present, notably Polish, Czech, Israeli, Canadian, British and even American. This fair, which took place over four days, only one for professionals, was visited by numerous foreign delegations and an interested public.

Known for the production of the Kozak armored family, the Ukrainian group Practika presented two Otoman armored vehicles in 6x6 and 8x8 versions. Ataman was a title of Cossack and haidamak leaders of various kinds. The 8x8 version, based on a BTR-60 armored chassis, was presented in an automatic mortar version. The rear part of the roof opens in two parts. The Ukrainian forces seem to wish to modernize their fleet of wheeled armored vehicles and to move away from the BTR models hitherto used. The mortar was only a model but should be presented in the near future. It looks like the Swiss version produced by Ruag. 24 full rounds of ammunition are planned for one part.

The OTOMAN 8 � 8 APC, presented in 2016, which proposed to be the first a new family of armored vehicles on wheels, developed with the aim of replacing old BTR-60s in use in that country, but with more protection and firepower, which features a completely new design, with several innovations, compared to the BTR-60, and more similar to modern Western vehicles, such as the front-mounted engine on the right and the driver on the left, turret in the middle, compartment at the back with a large door at the rear. According to the company, its body is monobloc and modular, with the most modern ballistic steel armor, offering one with standard ballistic protection STANAG 4569 Level 2, which offers resistance against firing of 7.62x51mm caliber weapons, at 30 meters, and explosion of mines of up to 6 kg under each wheel.

It is equipped with a German 320 HP Deutz engine and automatic Alisson transmission. The tested 6 � 6 version has a turret equipped with a BM-3 �Shturm� remote weapon system, armed with a 30 mm ZTM-1 (2A72) cannon, with 400 shots, 7.62 mm KT-7 coaxial machine gun , 30mm KBA-117 grenade launcher, six 902B �Tucha� smoke grenade launchers and with the possibility of installing an anti-car missile system (ATGM). The amphibious vehicle can run at a maximum speed of 110 km / h, with a maximum range of 800 km and can carry a crew of 10 soldiers (commander, driver and eight soldiers). It was developed by the company for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in particular for the Marines, according to a joint decision by the Ministry of Defense.

The driver's window, although small, is much larger than the small windows that are used in other vehicles arranged in 3. It is a bit complicated that there are only 2 hatches in the back for soldiers to go from doing observation if necessary.

Otoman 6x6

Armored fighting vehicle with 6�6 wheel formula. Unlike traditional Soviet BTR, it is designed according to modern-day trend in compartments disposition: engine compartment in front, troops/fighting compartment � at rear. Manufactured as basic platform for differentiated modifications � armored personnel carrier, infantry fighting vehicle (with 25/30 mm. weapon station), ambulance, command-and-control vehicle, repair vehicle, fire support vehicle (with mortar or howitzer).

The 6x6 version was equipped with the 122 mm turret usually mounted on the 2S1 artillery system . As a general rule, the Ukrainian group declares that these chassis should be used as the basis for all versions intended for the armed forces (VBCI, VBTT, command, artillery, ambulance, breakdown assistance). Given the situation in Ukraine, production of this type of gear could be accelerated.

The new 6 � 6 OTOMAN infantry combat vehicle, developed by the Ukrainian private company RPA �Practika�, according to Ukraine's Defense Express magazine, completed one of the initial stages of the tests in March 2020, with trials on sandy soil terrain.

Otaman-3 6x6

The main military exhibition "Arms and Security 2019" has opened in Kiev 08 October 2019, which traditionally demonstrates the latest achievements of the defense industry. This year also had something to brag about. An important novelty of the 2019 exhibition was the modern armored personnel carrier Otaman-3 with a 6x6 wheel arrangement, developed by the Kiev NPO Praktika. This is the first Ukrainian armored personnel carrier with a front-mounted power plant. This arrangement made it possible to make a spacious amphibious compartment and provide for the installation of heavy weapons and combat modules. At the same time, Otaman-3 turned out to be compact, with a high degree of protection and in a floating design.

But the main innovations were hidden inside. So, in cooperation with Limpid Armor, the Otaman-3 exhibition was also equipped with a digital helmet, which, using cameras along the perimeter of the armored personnel carrier, creates a 360-degree visibility effect for the operator. In addition, the smart helmet also detects and identifies objects outside and provides information to the crew. Thus, the crew sees everything that happens around the armored personnel carrier. The software defines targets, identifies them on a friend or foe basis, pays attention to danger, etc. It is significant that the entire interface was developed by a Ukrainian company and implemented at Otaman-3.

In the near future, NPO Praktika plans to complete the development and start testing a highly modernized version of the BTR-60. In fact, only the lower part with the suspension and bottom remains of the original car. The armored hull was replaced with a new, more spacious and modern armor plate; the engine compartment has been moved forward + the engine itself has been replaced with a modern Deutz diesel; delivered a remotely controlled weapon station, etc.

The purpose is the same as the usual (still Soviet) BTR-60. This is a linear army armored personnel carrier. But in the modernized version, the landing compartment is located not in front, but behind the vehicle, there is mine protection (the BTR-60 did not have it), better ergonomics (a more spacious body), better weapons (there is a modern combat module) and better maneuverability (due to the new engine).

Otoman 8x8

The wheeled armored vehicle with 8�8 formula made on the platform of BTR-60/70 to inherit outstanding all terrain driving performance and unique amphibious capabilities. Unlike its predecessor, the hull is designed according to the modern trends and requirements with engine compartment in the front and troops compartment � at the rear. Its powered by modern Deutz Turbo Charged Engine along with automatic Allison transmission. In basic configuration AFV provide the STANAG 4569 Level 2 ballistic protection and may be upgraded to Level 4 on the request. Manufactured as the basic platform for differentiated type of modifications such as armored personnel carrier, infantry fighting vehicle (with 25/30 mm. weapon station), ambulance, command-and-control vehicle, field recovery vehicle or fire support vehicle is a solution for customers with the fleet of old and outdated BTR-60/70.
