Ukroboronprom enterprises regularly �please� the military with deliveries of new and restored equipment. Today, the press service of the concern announced the delivery of an upgraded version of the SPECTATOR-M1 reconnaissance UAV to the Armed Forces of Ukraine The first copy of the drone, developed by JSC "Meridian" imeni S.P. Korolev, was transferred on 18 June 2020 to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine as part of the defense order for 2020.

The Spectator-M1 was first introduced in 2018, and already in 2019 it was adopted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is an improved version of the Spectator BAP, which received a new thermal imager, a more advanced control station, and a reduced weight that allows the UAV to stay in the air longer. The improved complex was adopted by the Armed Forces in 2019 after the completion of state tests.

Spectator-M1 is designed for reconnaissance, can be used for state border monitoring, search and rescue operations, etc.

Preliminary modifications of the complex have been supplied to the Ministry of Defense and the State Border Guard Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine since 2015. In 2018, the team of specialists working on the implementation of the BpAK Spectator project was awarded the Prize of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for the development and implementation of innovative technologies.

Despite the fact that we had to finish work on the complex during the quarantine, we fulfilled our obligations to the Ministry of Defense,� commented Vyacheslav Protsenko, the Chairman of the Board of JSC Meridian named after. The device is intended for reconnaissance, search and rescue operations, monitoring of the state border, water and forest areas and other similar tasks. At the same time, thanks to its characteristics, it can stay in the air for more than two hours and cover an area with a radius of up to 30 km.

It should be noted that the previous modifications of the Spectator M1 UAV have been supplied to the Ministry of Defense and the Border Guard Service of Ukraine since 2015 and have proven themselves well.
