Myths of Airren #3

A Cursed Love

Rate this book
A malignant blight ravages Tearmann, wreaking havoc on the lives of the Danú. If Tadhg and Keelynn cannot find a way to stop it before it reaches the castle, there won’t be anything left for them to save.

While the blight rages on, Aveen and Rían face troubles of their own. Between confronting ghosts from the past and fending off the Phantom Queen’s thirst for vengeance, peace and happiness seem too far out of reach.

It isn’t a matter of if the Princes of Tearmann will fall, but when .

Because the Queen is coming for them all…
And the cost of crossing her may finally be too high to pay.

A Cursed Love is the final book in the Myths of Airren series, following the events of A Cursed Kiss and A Cursed Heart , as told by Tadhg, Rían, Aveen, and Keelynn.

It truly pains me to do this, but after much deliberation, i have to give this book a 3.

Things I love:
- this series as a whole. I love the characters and the magic and the storyline outside the romance. All books prior to this were solid 4/5 stars to me.
- We will get a Ruairi book????? He’s the best part of this series TBH.
- I’m going to continue to read Jenny’s books as long as she keeps writing them.
- I do have to add, while I was not happy with all the choices Jenny made in writing this book, it DID give me many visceral reactions to the things going on. So that does have to count for something.

I know this review might seem harsh, I’m just SO sad because this series got me out of a terrible reading funk and I am just shocked at all that transpired here. I think you should still read the series.

Things I did NOT love. Warning. Spoilers ahead.
- one word. Anwen. So she basically SAs Tadhg while Keelynn is in the underworld. Gives birth to his child and dumps it off on him and splits. Then is disgusted he’s marrying a human (even though a human saved her life), but she doesn’t hate humans enough to leave her baby to be raised by one I guess?? Make it make sense.
- the surprise love child bit honestly made me ill. I was so uncomfortable how the child was conceived and left and made Keelynn’s problem.
- these men were exceptionally awful this book? I don’t like how these men consistently hurt these women and the FMCs just take it. Especially after all the betrayal they faced in their own society before living in Tearmann.
- Tadhg just drinks himself into a stupor feeling bad himself. Keelynn begging him to get it together. He has this woman he supposedly loves beyond compare in his corner who wants to be there for him… but evidently she isn’t worth getting his act together for. Just the random baby that got dumped on us. When Keelynn sticks up for herself he says “So you insist on throwing us away?” Like how manipulative????
- lack of communication trope
- it just felt like 90% of the plot of this book was just people breaking up and getting back together. The storyline with the phantom queen was infinitely more interesting and could still provide so much conflict.
- WHAAAAAT was the point of ruairi’s little confession of love?
- the ending was ok. It’s an HEA I guess which is all I can ask for but especially with Aveen’s fate I still feel kind of sad about it after all they went through for Rian’s heart.

A Cursed Love was one of my most anticipated reads of the year, and Jenny DELIVERED. Seriously, this book was the PERFECT series conclusion. There are satisfying endings for all of the main characters and the HEA is just beautiful. If you haven't started the Myths of Airren series, do so RIGHT NOW - now that the series is complete you can read right through this whole epic story!

I won't go into detail on the plot to avoid spoilers, but suffice to say that there is non-stop action, steam, banter, and swoon. Each of the first four books is told from the POV of a different character, so it was really fun that A Cursed Love included all of them. Though I did love how everything concluded, there are some SIGNIFICANT challenges along the way that had me SUPER worried in this book. Tadhg and Rian's pasts come back to haunt them, leading to some pretty stressful situations. Tearmann is in trouble, Airren is in chaos, and literally all of the characters are needed to save the day. It's a wild ride, but all the lose ends get tied up and the HEA is worth the pain.

The worst part about this series ending is that I am going to miss all of these characters SO MUCH. Though Aveen and Rian remain my favorites, I remembered how much I loved Tadhg and Keelynn reading this book. And OMG sweet Ruari! He's just the best, and I'm still kind of hoping he gets his own book in the future.

I am SO GRATEFUL to Jenny for bringing her street team along for the ride of writing this book. Seriously, I've never gotten to have so much access to an author actively writing a book, such a cool experience. And her street team is AMAZING - an amazing group of bookstagrammers that I just LOVE! A Cursed Love is out in November, and I just cannot wait until everyone is able to read it. Start catching up with the series today, you will NOT regret it!

Feckin’ brilliant. 😭

This has got to be my ALL TIME FAVORITE Romantasy series. Hickman gives me everything I need. The banter, swooning, magic, romance, lovable flawed characters, beautiful fantasy world, plot twists, so much action, and brilliant writing!

So happy this last book had all 4 POVS. The only thing I’m missing is Ruairi’s. 🥺

Please read this series. The world needs these characters.

Also the audiobooks are the best I’ve ever heard with duet narration.

Rían and Aveen - loved them but Rían should have groveled for even thinking about Leesha. I also would've loved to see Aveen pregnant and Rian dealing with the pregnancy 😂

Ruairi, my love ❤️ Hopefully we'll get to see his HEA

Tadhg & Keelynn - I'm really disappointed with the infidelity trope. I dare anyone to say Tadhg "couldn't help it" because of the curse and I'll fight anyone who says it. Tadhg most definitely could help it because he fucking knew what can happen and precautions taken after the situation with Anwen should have been taken well before that. In fact, they should've been taken the moment Keelynn died. Also, common fucking sense - why would you go alone to a house of a woman you used to sleep with??? Hmm? With a curse like that?? While your wife is dead and you're waiting for her?? Come on.. (Also, the excuse that the witch liked to play games and their little games were silence spells..*side-eye* Keelynn didn't need that on top of everything) It was totally unnecessary to put this into the story. Considering how Keelynn didn't even think twice about forgiving him, the same tension could've been created with the child being conceived/born before Tadhg met Keelynn. There was no groveling from Tadhg whatsoever (all we got is Tadhg and his woe is me attitude) and Keelynn immediately forgave him, so what was the point of making him cheat? It was so anticlimactic to see Tadhg worry about Keelynn despising him and not forgiving him only for her to literally forgive him in an instant. Literally. Again, no feckin' rhyme or reason.

Apparently I can excuse murder but not cheating. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Review:
🚨I’m so mad. Rant ahead, sorry in advance to the author and the people who liked this book.

Calling time on this, and YIKES, this was one of my most anticipated reads of the year so no one is more shocked, disappointed and saddened than me 😭😭
The first 4 books in this series are some of my all time favourites and if I want to keep it that way, I have to DNF this as it’s spoiling them for me.
I’m so mad…

The magic of this series is completely missing in this finale for me.
The romance? Gone
The banter? Barely there
The fun?? Non-existent

I was really enjoying being back in this world and JH’s writing, but the romance, which was the main part of my enjoyment for the first books, just isn’t giving what I wanted it to.

The first 56% (Tadhg’s drama is still on going) is riddled with a tonne of other woman/other man drama and not much else. And not just OW/OM showing up to create mild tension and jealousy, like I’m talking serious soapy drama and I’m not fan of the direction of each storyline (particularly Tadhg’s).
Rían and Aveen went round in circles, at the time of DNF they had only just resolved Rían’s side of things (Aveen’s OM drama is still ongoing). And how it was resolved? 🙅‍♀️ Absolutely 0 grovelling from Rían, I expected more from one of fav MMC’s.
Tadhg’s alcoholism was a minor problem for me in ACH, and it wouldn’t have bothered me in this if it wasn’t so exacerbated to the point where it is now a serious cause of OW conflict.

I have the audio preordered so I might continue once I have that, but am in no hurry.

Reasons for continuing would be:
1. The undying plot of the blight is super interesting that I would really like to continue
2. I’m hoping for some twists that makes my issues with this all caused by the Queen in some way.
3. How Keelynn overcomes the Danù view of her as a human
4. Ruairi 💜
5. I love the world, it has become such a comfort place for me
6. I love JH’s writing. Easily consumable, enjoyable, engaging and comforting

I’m so mad that I’m continuing my rant below but 🚨Major spoilers ahead🚨
.
.

- Tadhg having a baby with another woman while Keelynn was in the underworld after saving his life? No, absolutely not. Not just any baby though? A child of what is hinted at being the result of a sexual assault from Anwen?? No no no no no, hell no. Not for me. It’s literally too painful to continue. I would have preferred the celibate trope for this. I would have made the romance mean so much more. I hope Keelynn and Tadhg can overcome it but I’m not sure I’m invested enough to care at this point. Not a fan of this plot point being created to drag the story out. Keelynn’s struggles being human in a Fae world (where humans and Fae are at the brink of war) would have been enough.

- After ACH, Rían taking so long to toss up whether he’d choose Aveen or Leesha? Super disappointing. Then all he has to say after going round and round in circles is that he loves Aveen and she’s like ‘ok’ and all is forgiven? Just before she forgave, Aveen wondered if she had ‘pushover’ tattooed on her forehead and well, honey, I think you do…

- Ruairi being used a pawn to create jealousy between Aveen and Rían, not just once, but over and over? Exhausting. He deserves better

I get the Princes are ‘morally grey’ and I love that. Killing many people? I’m onboard with that, a ridiculously attractive trait in fiction. But the above actions do not represent MG men for me, just assholes.

Deeeeeep breath, it’s just a book. It’s just a book. It’s. Just. A. Book. Clearly emotions are running high and so might delete this later….

I once saw an interview with the writer for Downtown Abbey, where he said something along the lines of how writing about happy couples in love was the most boring thing for viewers/readers because it doesn’t have any drama … My goodness, Jenny brought the drama for this one! This book - my poor heart! 😭🥵😩😍 Happy endings are hard earned!! But oh so very worth it!

This final book in the Myths of Airren series and picks up right where Book 2 leaves off. Rían and Aveen must deal with the consequences of deceiving the Queen, and what she might do if she discovers that Aveen survived. Meanwhile, Tadhg and Keelynn have their own concerns - from Keelynn being a human set to marry the most eligible fae prince Tearmann, to a mysterious blight that is killing the land.

While some parts of this book are truly heart wrenching, it’s the growth that all the characters go through that really makes this such a wonderful book. Each character has to learn what it means to be a true partner, and how to best support the person they love, in addition to examining some unhealthy behaviors of their own. The story that we followed throughout the first books in the series wraps up in a Cursed Love, and we follow all four of the main POVs, which gives lots of insight into each character.

Of course this is a romance, so there is plenty of longing and lots of tension too. And all the difficult moments are definitely worth it in the end for each character.

I really enjoyed this book, even though it felt like getting my heart ripped out by an evil Queen at times. But in such a good way!!! I promise! I literally could not put it down! It was a wonderful conclusion to this wonderful, charming, laugh out loud funny, and unique fantasy romance series.

Thank you so much, Jenny Hickman, for an electronic advanced reader copy of this glorious book!!

Spice: 3🌶

I've been staring at my laptop screen wondering what the best way to start this review would be, and the only thing that comes to mind is I LOVED THIS BOOK & SERIES SO MUCH & I WILL MISS THESE CHARACTERS AND WORLD WITH MY WHOLE HEART.

This was one of my most anticipated reads of 2023 & Jenny absolutely delivered with this book. This book was an amazing conclusion to this incredible series & I don't think there could have been a better ending. It is definitely bittersweet to reach the conclusion of one of your favorite series, but I truly loved it from beginning to end.

This book had two separate paces; one plot focused & one character focused. Jenny did an incredible job developing both & had me hooked the entire way through. There was so much laughter, teary eyed moments, swoon-worthy moments & fanning myself while kicking my feet moments. It was an emotional rollercoaster I would love to get to experience for the first time all over again, & I feel the same way about the series as a whole.

The growth we see for both Keelynn & Tadhg together and individually was incredible to see. Remembering Keelynn from the first book & seeing the Keelynn in ACL, my heart felt so warm from how proud I am of her. She is selfless, kind & patient & an incredible leader. She has a heart filled with so much love to give, as well as so much light. Tadhg's journey with facing his demons & becoming the prince & leader we knew he could be was also incredible. We also see a whole other side of him that I was not expecting, and yet had me swooning & falling in love with all over again. Their love is one that can defeat all darkness & curses and it is truly a love that is timeless.

Rian & Aveen, King & Queen of my heart. The way this book made my love for them grow more than I ever thought possible. The different sides of Rian & Aveen we see made my heart so happy, and their angsty & yet heart fulfilling story made my tear up & hug my kindle countless of times. Their growth together & individually was also absolute perfection. Their love is one that will last forevermore, one that defied all obstacles & odds. I will forever excuse every single one of Rian's unhinged actions because he could never do no wrong.

Ruari, Eava, so many characters that made this world so beautiful to experience. It made me happy to see these characters get the HEA they fought so hard for & deserved. I cannot wait come back to this world with Ruari's story, so I will excitedly count down the days until I have it in my hands. Jenny truly delivered with this one & I wholeheartedly recommend this book & series as a whole. 🩷

im genuinely pissed off and not only for the random unnecessary drama and trauma that is 90% of this book. it's also that the whole essence of the two previous books completely disappeared with this one. EVERYONE was so annoying it made me question who were these characters.

the worst of them were keelynn and tadhg tho. i wish this was only aveen and rían's story (without the stupid drama that literally made no sense) because by making this a book about the two couples we had to suffer through keelynn and tadhg's obnoxious povs!! it's funny how through the whole thing they think they're so much better than the other two (the two of them constantly wish aveen and rían weren't together??) when in reality there's only one couple the people (me) love and lemme tell u... it's not THEM! they're so annoying it made me wish they died. but of course they get the happiest of endings while the other two, who literally saved everyone and are the strongest duo, get that weird epilogue. idk. it doesn't sit right with me!

to sum up:

keelynn: thinks she's always right! 🤓☝gets mad when they don't let her do whatever she wants to do 😡 obnoxious, spoiled and thinks being the little sister is a character trait. biggest struggle? not knowing how to take care a of a baby 😮‍💨

tadhg: ok he was under a HORRIBLE curse (basically getting SA'd all the time.. umm.... definitely a choice), drinks and ignores everyone for months whenever something bad happens..... thinks he's soooo much better than his brother but has spent two and a half books not ruling his kingdom and leaving everything to said brother to take care of .... and he thinks he's funny or whatever..

aveen: sacrifices herself in multiple occasions for the happiness of her sister even tho her sister doesn't even know what she wants half of the time. goes as far as to kill herself multiple times to help others. just wants a cottage by the sea. instead saves everyone AGAIN and the character with the most heart gets a weird and crappy ending 😐

rían: takes care of his brother's business bc his brother is useless. has the worst mother in the world who has killed his first love and stolen his heart and has basically tortured him his whole life. tries to protect everyone from the queen and himself when he was being controlled. dies the most horrible and painful deaths to save everyone. a little psycho but i get him. the most powerful out of the four and when he finally gets a chance to have a happy and calm life his soulmate ends like that.

yeah.... nope.

Going to try to keep this as spoiler-free as possible:
I really wanted to give this book four stars, but the merry-go-round of breaking up and getting back together that both pairings did deducts a whole star for me. I love this world and the characters in it (minus Tadhg and Keelyn -- sorry, but that's why I never bothered to read A Cursed Kiss), but those aspects weren't enough to save this book from the pacing hole it fell into. It felt like it took ages sometimes for the story to move forward because characters (mainly the two male leads) were sitting around drinking their feelings away. Literal chapters spent staring out windows or into fireplaces or at a wall as they mourned their relationships because no one on this fantasy island can communicate, apparently.
I won't even broach the subject of the surprise resurrection that caused strife for a few chapters, and then resolved itself nice and neat. I really wanted that to come back and bite them in the ass (and maybe make the plot just a tad bit more interesting), but nope.
If the book had been more about the actual conflict around the Phantom Queen, I think that would've made for a better read.

Also, no spoilers, but I'm not sure how I feel about the consequences to the climax and what happens during the falling action. I get the irony of it, but it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. The other couple (you know, the one I didn't actually care about) got a proper HEA, but the other got the Great Value brand HEA.

I will start this by saying I had a lot of expectations for this book. It was in my top five must-reads of 2023. And I have to say...It surpassed all my expectations BY FAR.

This book is the perfect storm. It is emotional, heartfelt, soul-crushing, heartwarming, and powerful all at the same time. The pacing was phenomenal. The story tackles all those questions that have been left hanging since A Cursed Kiss began. The conclusion was a beautiful ending to it. The four POVs blended seamlessly. Honestly, it was so nice to get Keelynn, Aveen, Rían, and Tadhg's POVs. I loved getting more of Rurari, who grows to be my favorite character more and more each time I read this series. The women were getting it done and we got some morally grey moments from our men. I want to keep this review short and sweet because I am afraid I will give away too much.

Jenny knocked it out of the part for me. It is books like this that represent why she is one of my auto-buy authors.

If you want a story with magic, passion, sexy fae men, one adorable pooka, enemies to lovers, banter, and so much more, then just listen to me and buy the whole series (or ACL if you have read all the other books).

This was the most devastating of the Myths of Airren novels. The heartbreak and pure hopelessness was written so beautifully I forgot to breathe many times and my heart actually yearned to comfort these characters. But the depth we see in character growth is unparalleled. The sweet, intimate moments created such nostalgia while giving us the perfect pause in the chaos. I repeatedly reminded myself this had a HEA, and oh my gods Jenny delivered it. I was completely shocked; crying and literally screaming for this ending and watching it unfold was one of the most terrifying but jaw dropping rollercoaster of my reading experiences. I am so pleasantly shocked and in love with this finale in the Airren world. Jenny gave us snippets of hopefully new things to come, and I can't wait to see what your brilliant brain writes.

uh… ok but that can’t be the end of this series?? i need more!!

this series has been on my radar for a long time, i’m so happy i finally decided to read it. these were my first books by this author and i really enjoy her writing style. it’s humorous and action-packed, which all shine through in this book.

i liked that we got to see the combination of aveen and keelynn’s stories in ‘a cursed love’. having them separated into 2 books felt like a bit of a drag to me even though we got lots of detail in their individual plots— but this book keeps everything in one place and allows their stories to intertwine more which made the whole experience a lot better.

the book starts where ‘a cursed heart’ ended pretty much, and from there it’s nothing but drama after drama! seriously, these characters never catch a break. just when everything seemed like it was starting to look up for the main characters, something bulldozed in and tore it down lol.

although the multiple adventures became a bit overbearing in this book, it did pave way for lots of character development. this whole series has contained more break-ups than a high school playground. this book is like a reality tv show (the real housewives of airren😂). but i liked that the girls kept the princes on their toes, and it highlighted just how much they cared about their relationships. if there’s one thing about this book that i can never fault, it’s the love in the relationships. you can always feel it on the page and it never feels rushed or fabricated.

overall, this book was a good end to a series. the plot is a little unsteady in places which makes it feel overwhelming in some parts and dull in others, but all together i was satisfied with the ending. the characters are funny, strong-willed and courageous, and i hope we get to see them again soon in a novella (ORRRR a book for ruiari. seriously, justice for ruiari. he needs his happy ending. he was my fave character. jenny hickman you will pay for leaving his ending in-the-air😂)

“Love was its own brand of magic. Overcoming impossible odds. Bringing hope to the hopeless.”

Jenny you beautiful mastermind of surprise, pain, adventure and love! I actually had to recover from this book, it was cathartic and traumatizing, beautiful and painful, and ultimately the perfect ending for our band of magical friends!

Our group definitely doesn’t have an easy time of it but every step was necessary for the conclusion- they had to experience the pain, joy, battles and hope! There were periods of giddiness, tears, and toe curling swooning! I frequently giggled at the princes internal monologues and banter! Keelyn has an amazing character arc that made me root for her so much! Aveen is always a favorite for me, I relate to her and I knew she would continue to sacrifice herself for everyone else- I wanted her happiness and HEA so strongly!! Ruairi was already in my heart but after this, he has my whole heart! Although I am team Rían for life 🙃

What you can expect:
🖤Banter
🖤Evil queen, plots, curses, prophecies
🖤Twists and turns
🖤Morally grey, wicked mouth princes
🖤🌶️🌶️
🖤Love, hope, forgiveness
🖤Strong, determined FMCs
🖤ALL THE FEELS

For me, the best kind of books stick with you long after you finish them. You’ll catch yourself daydreaming about characters, thinking of certain lines and feeing that tightness in your heart- this series continues to do that to me. My heart yearns to reread and experience it all over again. I couldn’t recommend a series more!

1 Star - DNF @ ~50%

Books 1 & 2 in this series were fantastic, but I cannot get into this one and am giving up. I'm having a hard time connecting this back to the previous books, maybe I should have done a re-read, but I'm so lost. Everyone is being AWFUL, and kept apart from one another, so I have no urgency to finish. It's simply not very enjoyable. We are told over and over again how the Phantom Queen is such a threat, so evil, etc. but it's never shown. At least up until I DNF'd she was barely "on screen". I feel like the entire story was Rian being worked up about the queen for no reason.

I wish the story focused on either Aveen/Rian or Tadhg/Keelynn. The characters are all so similar I honestly would get confused with the current POV, thinking it was someone else, and then would have to go back and re-read. Aveen/Keelynn and Rian/Tadhg are literally the same people. I understand the attempt to tie everything up as the final book of the series, but it didn't work.

The entire thing actually made me furious. Rian being so so annoying pushing Aveen away and refusing to be around her for ages. Also the fact it took him so long to decide if he wanted Aveen or Leesha??? WHAT?! Then we have Tadhg being an absolutely f*ck up by leaving Keelynn to literally raise the child he had WITH SOMEONE ELSE (which was basically him being SA'd). That whole situation was so unnecessary I cannot fathom why it was added to the story. Both MMCs were absolute garbage. The OM/OF drama was completely unnecessary and left a horrible taste in my mouth. Not to mention the entire book was so repetitive and it felt like the same "issue" was rehashed over and over again - only to be broken up with the occasionally smutty scene. Ugh. Truly, I did not enjoy a single plotline.

I'm disappointed, but I will continue to look out for this author considering how much I loved the other books in this series.

A Cursed Love is the third and final book in the Myths of Airren series.  It has been days since I finished this book, and I'm still struggling to convey in words just how much I loved this story.

This was such an emotional and brilliant ending to the series.  You know how there are some stories that you know will stick with you long after you finish, and it's apparent within the first few chapters? This is one of those.

Though it ended in a happily ever after, it was hard earned for our beloved characters. The sorrow, pain, guilt, and fear are expertly weaved in with moments of levity, love, and Jenny's signature banter.  Sometimes, I would find myself with tears streaming down my face one moment and gasping with laughter the next.

While I'm sad that it's the end of a series that so quickly became an obsession and a new favorite, I couldn't have asked for a better ending and such an enjoyable read.

Thanks again, Jenny! I can't wait to read what you write next!

An absolute masterpiece

The heartwrenching conclusion to the Myths of Airren series, this book has the power to warm even the most absent of hearts. Just when I thought another plot twist couldn’t come, another one stole the air from my lungs and the earth from beneath my feet. I felt every emotion while completely immersed in this dreamland. My favorite characters had to complete an agonizing journey to get to their happily ever after that was painful, emotional, and stunningly executed. I can’t thank the author enough for allowing me an early glimpse at this masterpiece. I haven’t cried this hard at a book since Sirius Black died.

Long story short, if you love romantasy, you need this series in your life. Start reading it now!!!!

Excuse me while I emotionally melt into a puddle for the next month.

This was such a satisfying conclusion to what is an adored series.

I absolutely the way Jenny writes and how everything flows so beautifully the descriptive world building is so vivid and you can’t help but visualise every little detail. I loved how having the four different POVs and the short chapters kept everything moving at such a good pace.

Everything that I loved in the previous books are taken to a new level in A Cursed Love. The banter, spice and all the twits just added to what a ride this book was and not to mention the characters each one developed even more in this book. Both Tadhg and Rían get thrown into some complicated situations that really effect their relationships with Keelyn and Aveen the pure emotional turmoil that happens as each one gets a curveball thrown after another but the way it all pans out just goes to how well written the plot developments are.

This book gave all the angst and emotional turmoil that you have come to expect from The Myths of Airren Series. The characters are flawed and imperfect but are so relatable which only makes their character growth so much better, the ending was so bittersweet and fulfilling.

I’ve loved every moment of this series it will always hold a special place in my heart. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an epic story of mythical creatures filled with love, pain, healing as well as all the trials and tribulations as they finally seek that happiness!

This was full of torturous twists and turns and steamy lovely moments. Basically the perfect conclusion for this series.

I love all the POVs! I loved seeing them all be completely their unhinged selves but also learning to compromise and grow together as a family.

A few things left open ended that could means we see more of this world in the future? I wouldn’t be sad about that. (I need a Ruari love story!!)

The audiobook was OUTSTANDING (as I knew I could expect from this series). Zura and Zachary killed it. Again.

Thanks to netgalley and the publishers for the chance to review an ALC.

Do yourself a favor and read this book with a big slice of chocolate cake or cherry tarts. They might not be Eava's but it will help.

It was a beautiful perfect and hard won ending for the Myths of Airren series.

I felt all the emotions. The highs and lows. The swooning, the banter, the tears and the all the laughter. This book had so much feeling, and you just get caught up in the characters.

Jenny tucked Tadhg, Keelynn, Rían and Aveen nicely into their bed and gave them the best ending. I am so happy for them all. But their HEA had to be earned. And man, did they all earn it.

I loved having the 4 different POVs. Each one was so insightful. I love the the internal thoughts of Tadhg and Rían. Keelynn's character growth throughout this whole series is amazing. She has come so far and is so fierce. Aveen is such a little viper and I love her and her weeds so much. Tadhg, I love him so much and his grew a lot as well (don't want to give too much away). And Rían, you silly man. I love you and your favorite waistcoat and boots.

Gosh, just please read these books. They are amazing. The End.
(Please read Myths of Airren in publication order and and don't skip the Princes' books.)

Reread with the audiobook: Listening to Zura and Zachary bringing this book to life as a duet narration is the most amazing thing ever! Zura knocked it out of the park with her range of female voices. Zura conveyed the characters emotions so well that I got so emotional. I loved hearing Zachary reading the Princes' POV. Loved all accents and will be listening to this again and again! The banter between the brothers and their mates were amazing. Zura and Zachary make the perfect team! I highly highly recommend this audio and the narrators.

PLEASE BE MINDFUL, THIS IS FULL OF SPOILERS

I don’t even know where to start! The whole book is so action packed and fast paced. From the first chapter shite is hitting the fan. Rian is adjusting to life with a heart, causing him to be a bit overbearing and protective of Aveen, placing their relationship on some rocky ground. Tadhg is still waiting for Keelynn’s year and a day to pass so she can wake up, and so many other things get dropped (quite literally) in their laps. Aveen’s, Rian’s, and Tadhg’s pasts all come back to haunt them (again, almost quite literally for some).

Y’all when I tell you so much happens, I mean SO MUCH HAPPENS. Where previous books were from one POV, this book combines ALL FOUR POV’S! Each character has a story to tell and arc to wrap up. (I have it on good authority that the audiobook will still be duet when it comes out!)

We get to see a whole new side of Rian. Where in the previous books he’s always dressed to perfection and a total neat freak, with his heart back, he’s feeling ALL THE THINGS. He’s struggling with Aveen’s new true immortality and the fear of what could happen if the Queen finds out she’s still alive. He’s anxious, paranoid, overprotective, and overbearing and Aveen is soooo not having it. These two go through sooo much by the end of the book but never fear, a HEA is on the horizon! Also, don’t forget that little cliffy we were left on at the end of Prince of Deception 👀

Meanwhile, a blight has taken over Tearmann and is displacing all the residents, at the same time, Human and Danu couples and families are losing their homes and businesses over in Airren, also displacing them. Tadhg and company must figure out a way to stop the blight from forcing every Danu on the island from their homes. Oh, and don’t forget that Keelynn is still mortal while literally everyone else is a true immortal, so they have THAT little detail to figure out on top of everything else.

Gosh my heart was breakingggggg for this found family who just wants to live with their soulmates and be happy. The emotions were all over the place with this one! These four are hit with new obstacles around every turn.

Brogan/Hagan- What an unexpected twist! I never saw this coming, although I’m kinda with Rian on this one, I’m surprised there aren’t more running around 😅 these hooligan princes and their humans had no clue what to do with this poor kid and I was so relieved when Tadgh and Keelynn started warming up to parenthood. I think the revelation was an “Aha!” Moment for Tadhg and kind of made him grow up and mature a bit (even if he’s already centuries old).

Leesha- This ball was dropped at the end of the previous book, so it’s not new to this particular book, HOWEVER, I think this was something Rian needed to face. I feel bad for the poor girl, and her character arc is kinda left open-ended 👀

Caden- This was a hugeeee “WTF” moment for me. Because of courseeeeeee. As if Aveen and Rian didn’t need anything else to test their relationship, in waltzes the man who did Aveen dirty 4 years ago. I will say, though, there’s a scene with Rian and Ruairi regarding Caden and I literally shrieked laughing so hard. This was another character arc that was kind of left open-ended as well 🤔

Ruairi- This book made me fall in love with our favorite pooka even more than the previous books 🥺 There were times where I was certainly concerned for his future but his love for his family always came out stronger.

The last like 10% had me screeching, clutching my chest, sobbing, and absolutely freaking out. The ending was unexpected and gripping and full of emotion. Our characters get their happy endings, maybe not how we expected, but the epilogues (yes, plural) are soooo satisfying and sweet!

This was a trainwreck. What I thought this book would be about: two couples who had found true love banning together with a common goal of defeating an evil queen, and possibly a HEA for Ruairi. What I got instead, was a melodramatic soap opera in which every character acts like a complete idiot.

I read a Cursed Kiss and a Cursed Heart and gave both 4 stars. Yes, the princes were morally grey and Keelyn and Aveen got on my nerves, however, they all showed character growth and changed in the end. But apparently, Jenny decided she wanted to undo all of that with this book, well she succeeded.

*** A Crap Ton of Spoilers Below***

I'm not sure if she just didn't know how to incorporate tension since her characters were now together, and so she created conflict after conflict for her characters to overcome? This resulted in a slew of useless plot points, that went nowhere and did nothing to further the overall story. Resulting in the complete deterioration of her characters. Instead of the morally grey princes, who were decisive and fought for the women they loved, we have sniveling, self-loathing, self-destructing buttheads, who treated their women like crap and with very little witty banter to make up for it.

Tadhg becomes an alcoholic, who pushes his responsibilities onto others, simply because he doesn't want to deal with them. And don't get me started on the surprise love child. I thought for sure it would be revealed that the child was not his and that the queen had used Anwen as a ploy to drive Tadhg and Keelyn apart... nope he just has a child because a woman basically SA'd him while Keelyn was in the underworld... Even tho Tadhg had a history with/ this woman, knew what she was like and still let himself be alone with her.????

And then Rian and that whole plot with Leesha and the pirate captain, which was basically pointless other than to drive him and Aveen further apart (which Rian was doing a perfectly fine job of on his own). I couldn't with them and the stubbornness and miscommunication. They were both incredibly infuriating. It's like all they had overcome in a Cursed Heart went completely down the drain!

And if all that wasn't bad enough, Ruairi professing feelings for Aveen?!? Why? What was the point?

All this and no one barely thinks about defeating the Queen or the blight until the last 15%. We don't really see any action or the story begin to move forward until the very end, and so for most of the book, we are just stuck watching all these idiots totally self-destruct. Twas miserable.

The only positive thing I can say about this book is that I liked Keelyn, she was the only character who didn't allow all the growth she had made, to go completely down the drain. However, I do think she let Tadhg off the hook way too easily. I would have made that man BEG for forgiveness if it was me!

Honestly, I cannot in good conscience recommend this book. I had to flip the audiobook speed to 1.7 just so I could get through it rather than DNF it.

Full of cliches, harmful messages, and overly dramatic. The men were pathetic. The "cure" for the blight was laughable. The battle with the queen was anticlimactic. This was just not enjoyable at all. I forced myself to finish it just because I had already paid for it.

A Cursed Love was a much anticipated read for me as this was the conclusion of the Myth of Airren series. It was just perfect!

As this is the last book, I can't delve into too much to avoid spoilers but Jenny delivered. We got drama, action, angst, swoon worthy moments and we got our HEA. It was a well earned one and these characters deserve all the happiness and it makes my heart so happy to know that we got that. Jenny never disappoints with giving us a beautiful ending.

The trials that these characters go through whilst having to deal with a blight causing destruction of the world and the pasts of both Rian and Tadhg come back with consequences they must deal with. It is an absolute ride and it continues all the way until nearly the end of the book.

The banter was absolutely perfect and there were some really fantastic moments between Rian, Tadhg and Ruari that had me laughing at their antics. .

" Trollop my arse. Tadhg was a feckin' trollop " The banter was just the best!!

There were some really heart breaking moments but Jenny gave the characters their happy endings and this makes my heart feel so full.

This book is the best ending to this amazing series. I want to say thank you to Jenny for the opportunity to read an ARC.

This was the most perfect conclusion to the series. A Cursed Love was one of my most highly anticipated reads of the year and boy did it deliver (plenty of stress... but it gave me what I wanted in the end soooo all is forgiven I suppose.)

The ending was rather bittersweet for me for many reasons, but I absolutely adored every bit of it. These characters and the story will always have a special place in my heart. I am going to try my best to encapsulate all of my thoughts on how amazing this journey was in a concise manner.

Let me start off by saying that I didn't expect this book to give me ANGST all around. I was angry, annoyed, sad... the whole damn spectrum and I was so here for every second of it.

Let's start off with Keelyn and Tadhg. I personally feel that these two experienced the most growth individually as well as a couple. Keelyn in particularly has changed her previously spoiled and prejudiced ways. I am so proud of the young woman that she has become and seeing her take on all the challenges thrown her way without a second thought. She is the perfect counterpart to Tadhg and I absolutely love how the author depicted their shifting dynamic throughout the duration of the series. I was quite surprised about the fact that Keelyn was probably the character that I wanted to give a hug to the most for the majority of this book. She has lots of things thrown her way, but she handles them with grace, kindness, and positivity. Tadhg had A LOT of issues and inner demons to fight. His reliance on alcohol and escapism from his problems is addressed here. It was incredibly heartwarming to see him slowly gather his bearings and step into the role Tearmann's leader that ever needed. Collectively, Keelyn and Tadhg had a lot of baggage to wade through but seeing them get their HEA at the end of the day was everything to me. Everything about the way these two characters were handled was perfection.

Aveen and Rian were absolute perfection. Aveen has always been my favorite FMC because of her strong will, kindness, and overall caring nature. She has such a big heart and so much love to give to all of those that enter her life. Her entire life has been controlled at the hands of men and so her determination to live a life filled with freedom of choice is so important for her ARC. Rian my dark, sassy, and unhinged love. His inner monologues are definitely some of my favorites ever. The things that Rian would say had me scandalized, gasping, and rolling on the floor. LOVE IT SO MUCH. Rian's journey consisted of battling his crippling fear of loss as well as coming to some difficult decisions between past + present. Aveen and Rian, like Tadhg and Keelyn had many obstacles in their path to happiness, but they ultimately persevered and that made their journey all the more satisfying.

Ruiari my emotionally intelligent king was the only male in this book with any sense ( as much as I love my princes.). I cannot wait for his book and to see him get his own well deserved HEA. I need him happy ASAP.

I love this book and series with my whole chest. I love how flawed and imperfect these characters are because it makes them not only more realistic, but it makes their growth all the much better. I will forever be in love with this world and this story. I HIGHLY recommend this to everybody looking for an epic story of love, pain, healing, as well as trial and tribulation, while seeking happiness.

Well, this is a first. Does it make me heartless that the only time I cried was when a little boy died? I mean there are many moments in the book that could be heartbreaking, but it didn’t really affect me (or it could be not getting enough sleep that’s doing it).
I loved the characters and the world, that characters we never really got to meet get to have page time (although Caden is awful almost as worse as Robert).
It was a good ending to the series (although I wouldn’t say no to a book on Ruiari’s pov).
100%recommend this series and book.

I liked the first book in the series the best. The second was decent but felt very long and drawn out. This just felt senseless. I really wanted to love this book. The whole danger felt over dramatized and then in the end, it just wrapped up too quickly. The tension didn’t manifest. The twist was obvious to me before the end. Much of the motivations didn’t make sense or were just blown out of portion. You could have cut this book in half and had the same book in my opinion :/ there are so many things that felt useless to the plot in this book that it’s too many to even put the spoiler tags in to talk about.

Perfect series end!!

Wow what a journey this book took us on! I did a combo of audio and reading and it was phenomenal! The narrators are perfection and this is a series I could easily listen to and read many many times!

A Cursed Love follows all four of our MCs and their journey through love and loss, insurmountable odds at times, and trying to hold out hope for the best. I laughed, bawled, swooned, and enjoyed immensely this coaster she took us on! The spice was spicing and the emotions were slicing!! They really took on the “I will go to the ends of the world for you” and when it seemed like they would lose it all, love conquered all! I loved the found family and how even though the sisters were human, they took on protecting their husbands’ land and people and finally found where they belonged, the thought that happiness can be found as long as you’re willing to fight for it.

This was the perfect ending to the trilogy and though I am sad it’s all over, I can hope Jenny revisits these characters down the road for a little “where are they now” (hint hint haha). Easily one of my favorite fantasy series!!

*sigh* I put off reading book two because I wanted to have the story fresh in my mind for book 3's release. I binged both books back to back and I feel let down. While I appreciate the road being not smooth and the HEA not totally wrapped up in a pretty bow, I can't vibe with the story ending like it did. I'm disappointed that she ended up heartless.
