Initial Reaction: I just finished the book..... and I'm speechless..... that ending..... Daemon...... I can't....... I can't even...... asdfghjkl;
Okay, I'm going to attempt to 'review' this book and refrain from too much fangirling. First of all, I think it's obvious that I absolutely loved it! So much stuff happened and it was so action-packed! But there were also really beautiful, tender moments between Daemon & Katy. Which leads me to.... Daemon.... *sigh* I absolutely love me some Daemon Black. And being in his head and seeing how he thinks and how much he loves his Kitten was just ahhh-mazing! I loved uncovering the mystery behind the title. I loved meeting the new character, Archer. And I absolutely loved every single page of this book! That ending.... pretty much left me writhing in agony as I await the sequel. Jennifer- you are a freakin' genius (kind of evil.....), but still a literary genius! <3

Warning: this contains foul language and also tiny spoilers!!!
For those of you who don't know what this book is about: this book is about rubbing and also groping.
There were literally 3 chapter about them (ahem) enjoying each-other! 3 CHAPTERS noting happened except them lying in bed! and then there were 2 more of them walking through Vegas and thinking about FEELINGS.
There might have been some descent action scenes somewhere around the end, but I was so fed up of this book by then, i skip-read through most of them.
The thing is, this series starts off well. You have the first, maybe even the second book, and it has its eye-rolling moments but they are neatly dispersed through the book and cut of just before you start cringing. So you finish it and you like it and you are a little ashamed to admit because of its cheesy plot but you give it 4 stars anyway and wait for the next book excitedly.
And here is where everything goes spiraling downward. Why i think that is?
First The behavior of the characters was unrealistic. I kept in mind that we (people) act differently in stressful situations but i can't imagine anyone acting the way our two MC did at the beginning. Kidnapped by the Government, tortured, scared for their life one would want comfort and closeness from their loved one not penetration. (i'm being vulgar on purpose - this book violated my mind. i'm in for revenge!)
Second the plot is stretched to tin, the story is not that complex to be divided in 5 parts. This would have been decent enough series if it was only 3 books.
Third the so-called LOVE they feel for each-other its noting more then hormones and hornyness (that's not a word - i don't care). It might pass as obsession, lust, craving, maybe crush.... But never LOVE. You don't apologize to the one you love about your feelings. They are a part of you. You don't say "thank you" just because they stays after you cried. That's what they SHOULD do, its not special and its not exclusive. It's what you DO for the one you LOVE. And you say what you want, without thinking too much about it, because that's you unfiltered - and that's the ONLY YOU they should know and love!
And Last...
We have this author, and she would not go in to history with the greatest, but she is good enough for our generation. And she writes in cliches but that's OK, because people that don't read as mach as WE do, love them - also they sell. And she is writing Young Adult and she also writes New Adult. And I think somewhere along the way she stopped seeing the line between the two.
And this Book is the result.
I read through all of this book waiting for the love i felt for its predecessors to come back. It never did. This book might have tainted the whole series form me. I now wonder how i read any of them at all?
So NO! I didn't like this book! And YES I am gonna read the last one because i came this far and i want to see how it ends! And YES i feel a little like a hypocrite because of it! (and a little sick when i remember that i have to read about their FEELINGS again!)
My recommendation?! If you are not as cynical as i am you might like this one and If you are not as old as i am then you might love this one. If you are bout of those things (and also have a brain and opinions) i don't recommend it!
(for the ones who decide to read this after all): Just be prepared for the touches and the kisses and the legs spreading and gasps and growls while the people are dying around them.

I was so thrilled to read this one because we waited a lot for this one.And when I got it in my heads I couldn't leave it.It was such a cool book and the ending was mind blowing, that great.
Me while reading the book :

Daemon and Katy

Nancy's smile didn't fade. "And what are you willing to do to accomplish that?"
"Anything," I said without hesitation, and I meant it. "I will do anything, but I want to see Kat first and I want to see her now.”
I waited so long to read this book and I have to admit that it was way better than I expected it to be.I can easily say that Jennifer is my favorite author.The worlds that she creates,the characters and the stories,are so carefully written and developped.The lux series is obviously one of her series that I adore.Yes it's about aliens but nothing freaky.Everything is perfect and maybe I'm biased :D
After that awful cliffhanger the book starts with Katy's pov.She's taken and they are apart now.Daemon is determined to bring her back no matter the cost.The truth is that he doesnt even think about the consequences because he wants her safe.
“I’ll burn the world down to save her”
Daemon and Katy have more allies than they could ever imagine.
This Luc kid is more powerful than you think.
New species will come to the surface.
They are going to get betrayed.
They will have to choose between family and life.
The world will change!
After reading this book many people say that it doesnt end with a cliffhanger.Is it just me that disagrees?Personally I cant wait until the OTHER summer.
I cant really say anything else about this book because I dont want to ruin it for those who havent read it and there other readers who havent read the series so I dont think that they will understand much.
Overall this is pure perfection.(That's me being biased again)
This book combines EVERYTHING!I am serious.Not annoying characters.You will laugh your a$$ out.Sexy hot alien babes.Badass heroines and we definetely support TEAM AWESOME :D I would love it if she wrote a book about Archer and Dee!Last but not least

Jennifer Armentrout is…
a big fucking deal.
You know it.
I know it.
This woman has a manic talent with words! And plot twists. And dialogue. And skyscraper-sized cliff-hangers. And heart-splintering moments. And her characters… LAWD! Her characters…
***Daemon Black is everything that has ever been my favorite thing.***
And she does all of this is such an effortless way. It’s almost like she’s having a conversation with each and every one of her readers when she writes a book. Because she makes sure you’re a part of everything she writes. She doesn’t just want you read it; she wants you to experience it. And I get that that’s what every author tries to do… The difference is that Jennifer actually does it.
And she does it fucking well.

Origin is a turning point in Lux series. This is not a childlish game anymore. Everything is more dangerous and more serious than ever before. Everyone had to pick sides and say goodbye to the content life they once had known. Full of action, Origin is the best part in series so far!
My Daemon:
My Katy:
I loved dual POV. In this book, Daemon is in his best confident-self. He is snarky. He is determined. He will do ANYTHING to get his Kitten back. I absolutely loved how badass Daemon was in this instalment, he is definitely one of my all time favourite bookish heroes, if not the best!
I was shocked and speecheles once I found out what "origin" truly means. Action in this book blew my mind! Lux series is without a doubt the best YA paranormal series I have ever read, it is just so epic! I could not put it down, Origin was pure perfection.
And Katy's and Daemon's relationship? It matured, got stronger and I was swooning over them all the time. I loved everything about this book. The good, the bad, everything. Kudos to Jennifer L. Armentrout for creating this amazing story. I wish I had final instalment already!

I am so in love with this series - this book in particular. I feel so many emotions for it right now. This story world just keeps getting better and better, and I keep loving Daemon and Katy more and more.
So amazingly awesome. Jen's writing is spectacular. So much yum.
Oh, and don't get me started on how cool it is to have a literary reference to my book in this novel!!!!! How freaking surreal is that??? EEEK!!!
I give this book off-the-charts stars. Can't wait to see what Jen has in store for us next. :-)

Oh fudgemonkeys,I feel like I just read a combination of X-Men,Star Wars and Richelle Mead's Bloodlines with a hint of dystopia (experiments on humans and all) and scorching romance!Yet Jennifer L. Armentrout created something unique and utterly hers.The woman is brilliant!Brilliant.
And he did it.If you hurt Kat,you hurt Daemon,not because of their bond but due to his devasting,wonderful and all-consuming love for her.Surrender to the enemy?Done.Participate in horrible experiments?Done.Cause mayhem?Done.Turn your back to your own kind?Done.And he didn't stop there.
Origin was darker and more mature than the previous books in the Lux series.The plot thickened,bodies piled up,betrayals stung and the heroes found out what they were willing to sacrifice.Kat was losing herself,she struggled with the changes in her,she succumbed to her anger and felt terrified by her determination to kill when the sense of self-preservation kicked in.And Daemon,even though he wanted to be a betterman alien,he didn't hesitate to get his hands dirty if it was to protect her.Even though Daedalus messed with their heads and used twisted means (and I mean really sick means,those that make you want to go Hulk and leave nothing but ashes in order to right such tremendous injustice),they were right about one thing:war was coming.
The dual POV and the Origins added to an already captivating story,and the involvement of Archer and Luc was really intriguing.And I can't help but mention that Daemon proved time and time again that underneath his arrogance and jerky attitude he was so sweet he made your insides melt.
And now I am a puddle of goo.
“I'd take out an army,burn down an entire city,and throw the world into chaos if I had to in order to keep Kat out of that place.”

5 I wanna make some alien babies with Daemon stars!!!
After the crazy cliffhanger in Opal, we’ve all been (not so) patiently waiting to find out what happens with Daemon and Katy... one of my favorite fictional couples! I’ve been anxious to see how this one would turn out... if it would stack up to the rest of the series. It did! Amazing!
Daemon Black is on a mission to save the woman he loves and nothing and no one can stop him. He will do ANYTHING he has to do to be with Kat.
Daemon basically sacrifices himself, his freedom, just to be with Katy. Now, that is love. There is nothing else he could have done. No place else he would rather be than with her.
Even with being stuck with the DOD, Daemon and Katy are both able to keep their spunk, banter, and sense of humor...
Will Kat and Daemon find a way to escape? Will they be able to do it before they break? There is so much going on in this book. ACTION. SUSPENSE. SURPRISE. I don’t want to divulge too much of the story line. You really have to read it for yourself. It’s one of those books you want to be shocked while reading.
Daemon Black... I just love Daemon Black more than ever!!! No one else can have me swoon, get me hot and bothered, and have me laughing my ass off all at the same time like Daemon! And when ever he says the word Kitten... ah it just does things to me! He is just THE BEST in this book!

Okay... that should help :D I love how unpredictable these books are! There were so many -I didn’t see that coming- moments! Once you start this one, cave out some serious reading time because you won’t want to put it down! JLA’s writing is amazing as always! Sometimes with longer series, books start to lose their steam as it goes along. That is not the case. This was just as wonderful as the first three books in the series!
There is a minor cliffhanger, for those who are wondering. To me, it wasn’t terrible... nothing compared to the Opal cliffy. I just wish we didn’t have to wait so long for the next book to be released! Summer of 2014 seems like it’s FOREVER away! But seriously, I adore these books! If you haven’t read this series, you are truly missing out!

OKAY, OKAY, OKAY! Picking it up this series again after so much time was an INCREDIBLE DECISION that I am so happy that I made. ♥︎

This book was everything I was hoping for and more. The action, the writing, the flawed real awesome strong characters (who I love so much) and the story is just so GOOD!
This has been a blessing for my ship heart!
I’m speechless at how perfect they are for and with each other.
They are one of my favorite OTP's of all fucking time.
I couldn’t be happier with this book even if I tried.
They are so in love with each other I’m jealous. THEY ARE SOULMATES in every sense of the word.
Daemon I LOVE WITH ALL OF MY HEART, he’s the embodiment of awesomeness! I’m in love with every aspect of him.
DAMN HE’S SO FREAKING HOT AND CUTE AND PASSIONATE AND SARCASTIC AND WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR THE PEOPLE HE LOVES AND HUSBAND MATERIAL AND HOLY SHIT I WANT ONE. *faints*
And why that fuck was I denied his POV before!? I love him so much. I’m mad that I was denied the pleasure of knowing him more in the previous books, but the next one will also have his POV so I’m not so mad anymore. YEAH!
He’s too hot, the cover does not do him justice.
Kath is just FUCKINGTASTIC, seriously she’s one of the only female characters that I have read that didn’t piss me off at any bloody point of the series. She’s so selfless, strong and I love her.
I LOVE ALL OF THE CHARACTERS NEW AND OLD! They are all in they one way unique and badass.
And I have a feeling of a new couple rising and I couldn’t be more excited to see it happening.
I can’t wait to read the final book and have my heart melt of happiness because of my babies, but at the same time I’m so sad that is going to end!

This was SO.DAMN.GOOD!!
And I my nerves almost killed me, and I don’t know how it will possibly go from here, and I’m really afraid of what will happen with the next book because of its title and and yeah… I’m rambling. Sorry. (I’m really not that sorry!)
Okay, this picks up right after that horrible CH in the third book, with Katy stuck God knows where with the Deadalus and Daemon turning everything and everyone around trying to save her.
I’m really not telling you everything that happens in this book, because that’s basically impossible. But it’s awesome and it will blow your mind!
Everything will change in this book and you’ll not know who the good guys are anymore. This will get confusing, messy… and you’ll love every second of it.
It’s great to see the old and new awesome characters interaction and Daemon and Katy… well, they are probably one of the greatest book-couples ever.
They’re sweet and it’s impossible not to be completely in love with every scene they have together.
I’ve already tell you that I love everything that Jennifer writes… these series are the reason why. I don’t think there are better young adult paranormal books better than these.
Neither YA nor PNR are my all time favorite genres… but somehow this has those two factors together and I just can’t stop loving it. Daemon Black is probably one of my biggest book-crushes. (Fact that should make me ashamed considering that he is a teenager and I should be a wiser adult!)
Now I will grumble and scream with everyone around me every time I remember that I’ll have to wait months and months for the next one. CAN’T FREAKIN’ WAIT!!

So I basically had an aneurysm while waiting for this book to come out. With the cliffhanger in the last book I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one. ( And also on Blake so I can strangle him.) This book just had so many reveals I think I still haven't been able to take all of the in.

I think at this point it should be obvious I absolutely loved this book. It was really fast paced and there were some really shocking moments in it. I loved the dual point of view. I mean come on we got to be in Daemon's Black head, that itself could have made the book a winner for me. But Jennifer L. Armentrout did not stop there she gave us amazing, tender moments between the perfect, sexy, dirty mouthed, sweetheart Daemon and Katy, she raised the stakes, she introduced some amazing new characters, Archer I'm looking at you, and she killed a lot of people. I didn't know if I wanted to laugh or cry or hyperventilate while reading this book. The ending... I swear at this point I should have just been expecting another cliffhanger but yeah... so surprise!!! It's a cliffhanger not as bad as Opal ( don't think anything can top that one for me) but yeah still pretty bad. I'm just going to end the review here because it would just be me fan-girling about Daemon. This book is close to perfection.

I don't think I can tolerate 50% of this book being a history lesson about the "Origin" of aliens. I need Daemon to find Katy, like, within the first ten pages. Then, I need him to kick Bart/Flake/Ben/Buford (Blake)'s ass for me. Katy so should've told him about Blake's dirty sleepover habits!! Please don't become half a psycho like Beth, Katy!!
Okay, we got everything we usually want by the third book:
-villain dead
-Katy+Daemon did..."something" we were dying for
-Dawson and Beth back together
-Dee talking to Katy again
-Daemon said something we were dying to hear in english(anyone else feel like he told Katy he loved her in his language?)
But Daemon, too little too late, don't you think, buddy?

oh my gosh that gorgeous cover!!! --> meant to be in caps lock but my keyboard thought otherwise ;)
This is serious torture...I don't like Daemon to be all alone on the cover but he looks so determined to get Katy!! The surrounding does worry me though...hope he's not the one getting a bit crazy instead of Katy. Just kidding! I'm sure he's his usual self, creating chaos and destruction for the one he loves :)
And the buzz of theories are making me uneasy - getting pregnant, losing memories, cheating-related misunderstandings are just unnecessary things that would ruin this WHOLE series for me. After a long time, I've found such an amazing series and an author I can trust to truly keep up her standards. I would be really pissed. I mean, have you seen the cover? Have you zoomed in and seen Daemon's face? Yeah, the things I mentioned above are not his style and he would NEVER let it fly for even a second...I have SO MUCH blind faith in Origin and #5 I consider myself an idiot already!! But I'm just trusting my instinct! Watch out Katy, Daemon's coming to get you!

Okay, it’s no secret that I was dying for this book to come out. Lux is surprisingly one of those series that stays in mind until the next book is out. The last book ended with a killer cliffhanger. So did this one, only it’s less torturous. Doesn’t mean that waiting a year for the next book is going to be easy. The final book. I’m scared just thinking that Daemon Black’s story is coming to an end.
Origin was different from the previous books. It has more action, more drama, more betrayal and more suspense than ever. I was somewhat disappointed by the lack of romance and humor. I get that this book needed to be a bit serious but I really want the old quirky, funny and incorrigible Daemon back. But with what happens in this book, Opposition is probably going to be lots more serious.

If she’s satisfied with the way Origin ended, then we are going to be mind-blown with Opposition. And the cover is enough reason to want this book. Daemon will do anything for Katy, and he’s proved that in this book. His love is fiercer than ever, and the action and suspense with have your heart pounding. Not to mention the cute kid Luc. His secrets are still quite hidden. I hope Opposition will lleave us satisfied, although who wouldn’t want more DB?
Honestly, I’m hoping that if and when Jennifer feels like it, she’ll write a NA series following Daemon and Katy’s life together. We’ve already seen it begin, but I wanna know how it lasts!

This is serious torture...I don't like Daemon to be all alone on the cover but he looks so determined to get Katy!! The surrounding does worry me though...hope he's not the one getting a bit crazy instead of Katy. Just kidding! I'm sure he's his usual self, creating chaos and destruction for the one he loves :)
And the buzz of theories are making me uneasy - getting pregnant, losing memories, cheating-related misunderstandings are just unnecessary things that would ruin this WHOLE series for me. After a long time, I've found such an amazing series and an author I can trust to truly keep up her standards. I would be really pissed. I mean, have you seen the cover? Have you zoomed in and seen Daemon's face? Yeah, the things I mentioned above are not his style and he would NEVER let it fly for even a second...I have SO MUCH blind faith in Origin and #5 I consider myself an idiot already!! But I'm just trusting my instinct! Watch out Katy, Daemon's coming to get you!

Okay, it’s no secret that I was dying for this book to come out. Lux is surprisingly one of those series that stays in mind until the next book is out. The last book ended with a killer cliffhanger. So did this one, only it’s less torturous. Doesn’t mean that waiting a year for the next book is going to be easy. The final book. I’m scared just thinking that Daemon Black’s story is coming to an end.
Origin was different from the previous books. It has more action, more drama, more betrayal and more suspense than ever. I was somewhat disappointed by the lack of romance and humor. I get that this book needed to be a bit serious but I really want the old quirky, funny and incorrigible Daemon back. But with what happens in this book, Opposition is probably going to be lots more serious.

Rounding down to 3.5 stars because of the end.
This is me at the end of Origin...
That was such a stupid way to end the book.
For some of the readers it was a 'cliffhanger', but in my opinion it was (like i said) stupid and therefore i didn't like it.
So i was like...
Origin starts off with a very pissed, sad, and heartbroken Daemon. Right were we left off in Opal
So obviously Daemon goes and rescues her (by doing a very reckless and not though-out thing that i didn't really approve of. But this is Daemon. It's kind of normal for him to do that, right?)
As Daemon becomes more careless about the sacrifices he will have to make to protect Kat and his family from danger, the consequences might be leading to war, and something far more dangerous than any of them can handle.
Together they can do it. But what if they are not together? Are Daemon and Katy even standing on the same side?
Let me start by saying why i didn't give Origin 5 stars.
One of my biggest issues was probably not liking at all where the book was going. I found myself wishing that the author would re-write it (sorry).
There were so many scenes/parts i wanted to change.
The reason i wasn't particularly excited might be because a reviewer SPOILED THE BOOK FOR ME! Well she didn't exactly say who it was, but come on, really?
It was the same as writing it on a piece of paper in big letters and then shoving it at my face.
Those 2 spoilers annoyed the f*ck out of me to no end.
On to the good things.
Daemon...

He was our usual, sarcastic, big headed and swoon worthy Daemon Black. He didn't change one bit which made me very happy and glad. Even when his and Kat's life was at risk, guess what?
He still had that 'kiss my ass, i'm the best' attitude which i love!
Katy...
I loved Katy too! She didn't annoy me and i thought she was a brilliant heroine. Very strong, independent, and kind but with a bad attitude.
I absolutely love it when the MC are a bit rebellious.
I also loved all the other characters - Dee, Dawson, Beth, Archer (can i have him for breakfast?).
I adored all the action, and the hot and sweet scenes between Daemon and Katy.
BTW - There were more of those in this book (which i was very happy about).
The twist about the traitor who was among them all along was a bit shocking to be honest.
I predicted it in the previous books but i forgot all about it so it was still a surprise.
I'm not very pleased about Beth
Overall...
Origin was still a very good read that managed to captivate me
, and i liked it. At times more than others. Loved the characters, the action, the twists and the new info we got about Daedalus and some other things too. Looking forwards to reading book 5 (Opposition - coming out 2014)

'ORIGIN' is the fourth book in Jennifer L. Armentrout's 'Lux' series. It picks up where the previous book left off.
Still in keeping with my January challenge I'm finishing off this series!! To date I'm loving them and am so glad I took that plunge with reading PNR because this genre until now has been one I've not willingly jumped on.
Each book ends in cliffys so I can imagine the screams from many disgruntled readers because they are brutal and this one was no different, things were going to get BAD!!
So many ups and downs, so many twists, so much angst, heart break, these characters wormed their way into my heart so effortlessly that you can't help rooting for their HEA!!
Daemon Black our freaky hot alien is on a suicide mission to save Katy, the woman he's in love with and to do that he relinquishes himself to the one place he should've stayed well away from.
And from this point on we're thrown headfirst into a nail biting adventure where new and old rivals come into play. Who can they trust?
This series just ticks all the boxes.
So here’s the thing I wouldn’t class myself as a fast reader, but I’m so surprised how fast I read this book, in one sitting this book was devoured! Inhaled the f#ck out of it! God I love this series! Yet again this author has pulled that 5+++++ star rating out of me effortlessly!! can she do it 5 for 5!!
Onto the last one in this series because that cliffy made my heart stop!

Before I start my review I just want to say that this is my favorite book from the series. After the incredible and heartbreaking cliffhanger we got in Opal, I was dying to get my hands on this one, because I was sure a lot of things will change in this story. And guess what? I was right..
So, we continue our adventure from exactly the point where Opal shattered out hearts. Katy was abducted my the Daedalus and nobody could do anything to save her. She was on her own now. At least their plan worked, they could rescue Beth, but this achievement was obtained with her sacrifice. All alone and with a lot crazy people trying to make her use her maximum hybrid potential, Katy is facing a serious situation that doesn't seem to have a happy ending. She was pushed in every direction possible and had no choice but to defend herself, even if it means doing things she doesn't want to do.
In the mean time, Daemon is literally going crazy knowing Katy is out there, maybe hurt, maybe dead and he can't do a thing to help her. But of course, once you threaten the love of his life, you have to be prepared for a massive surprise, because he is willing to do ANYTHING to get Katy back alive and well. So, he makes a deal with the Daedalus and offers them his healing services, becoming exactly like Dawson. Only, they will learn not to trust this twisted people..
This book was intense from page one until last. I don't think there was a single paragraph in this book that I didn't enjoy.
Katy proved me once more how though she is and how loyal she can be to the people she loves. Besides that, I believe that in this book she was challenged the most, emotionally and physically. Her experience with the Daedalus will mark her, but it was also intended in making her stronger. Considering all that she lost in this book, I believe that she is literally ready to face anything.
Daemon was amazing as usual, and I really wanted to see how he would react when Katy was abducted. I thought that he will kill them all, burn all the planet to get her back. You just simply can't mess with him and expect a calm answer. He was willing to sacrifice everything for Katy and because of this my admiration for him as a hero grew exponentially. I got to see a very balanced Daemon in this book, with a soft and vulnerable side. We all know that Katy was his weak spot, but I just didn't know the extend of his love for her until reading this book and being blow away by its intensity.
The plot was magnificent and it never ceased to surprise me. We are introduced to new characters that will have a significant role in the story, and old characters will have their fair share of action. Speaking of old friend, you are in for a surprise when Blake is concerned and please tell me if you were as confused as me regarding his fate.
Nothing like the previous books was at intense and straight forward as in Original. Everything was different now, more darker, more complex and I could feel that Jennifer had a blast writing it, because you could read her talent and dedication.
So, there you have it, a full and complex book, with all the elements you may possibly need: earth shattering love, loyalty, adventure, twist and breathtaking moments that will not let you put the book down until the very end. And when you put it down, you will want to start the next one, because guess what? The ending will drive you crazy:) Typically..

Where do I start?! I have so many emotions swirling around inside me right now and I am afraid I won't find the right words to express them. But, I'll start with this...THIS BOOK WAS UNBELIEVABLY FANTASTIC!!! I think Katy and Daemon have become my favorite book couple ever. And, this book is told in both Katy and Daemon's POV. I am not always a fan of the dual POV but it really worked well this time. Sharing Daemon's thoughts and emotions added so much for me. The book starts right up where Opal left off with that huge cliffhanger. Katy is gone. And Daemon will do anything to get her back. The first maybe half of the book was really disturbing. Daedalus has Katy, and they want Daemon. Throughout her stay there, they reveal to her what they have been doing. They actually believe their actions are all for the greater good. That's what they try to convince others of anyway. Each page was some other new and horribly disturbing truth. Once Daemon and Katy are reunited, then starts the sweet parts. Daemon's love for Katy knows no bounds. Some of the moments between them are so heartwarmingly beautiful. But, Jennifer Armentrout is a master. We will be right in the middle of a beautiful moment between Daemon and Katy and getting all warm and fuzzy and then, wham, the tables turn and everything turns to chaos. These two just can't catch a break. I don't think they have more then a few hours of peace at a time throughout the book. Daemon is still our overprotective, sassy, alpha and Katy is still our strong, independent heroine. But, I saw changes in them in this book. I really saw Daemon respecting Katy more as an equal. And I also saw Katy as more accepting as well. Knowing that Daemon is just trying to keep her safe because he loves her so much. One such example is when they are physically running together. Katy wants to run on her own, not to be a burden to Daemon, to run at his side. Daemon knows and respects this. But at one point, Katy realizes that she is holding him back and that she has to give in and lets him carry her. They are a team in this book, more than ever. And then there is my beloved Dee. I have loved her from the first book. In Origin, she doesn't play as prominent of a part, but I love her. And, I am very interested in the character of Archer. I can't wait to see where that goes. I can't say enough wonderful things about this book. If I had to hand out one criticism, it is that I could not get a single thing done of my regular household chores. I could think of nothing else but to read, read, read. So, my husband may not be loving Jennifer Armentrout right about now as much as I am. This series is so fantastic so I hope that I have been able to convince you to give it a try if you haven't already. It will be torture to wait for the final book to come out.

I'll burn the world down to save her.
EPIC! Truly impressive.
From where can I start telling you about this book?
First of all if you compare the first book of the series Obsidian with Origin, you will notice that the story has evolved exponentially:
1.The high school children are not children any more. They are young adults now. They hold their future in their hands, they take painful decisions, they proceed in life-changing actions.
2. The action will move from the little town and the school to secret military underground bases where humans try to be The God.
3. Humans play a vital part in this book. Before, they seemed to be afar. They were just observing Luxen and Arum and they were setting the rules for the aliens in order to be accepted on Earth. Now, we see that humans do not really play nice for more than 50 years. What is their role in the creation of Origins? Where is the compassion and the sympathy and the understanding ? I was keep cursing and wishing painful punishment for most stupid uptight cruel humans involved in Daedalus project.
There is one shocking revelation after the other and a cliffhanger at the end of almost each chapter.
Everyone can become a casualty: human or alien, main or secondary character. After a while, you get used to it.
One thing is certain, the world will NOT be the same after this book.
And apparently everyone has to choose a side – unless the side is already chosen for him/her.

Wow, I read this sooo fast! Definitely my favorite in the series so far.
✅ I ACTUALLY LIKED DAEMON! Up until now, I had such a mehh feeling about Daemon - definitely a below average love interest for me. He was just too angsty, too rude and overprotective. But in this book, he also became really sweet and wasn't as much of a jerk so he grew on me a lot
🆗 THE ROMANCE definitely went up a notch and it was so sweet to read about how much they loved each other ❤️ The sex scenes were still vague and not explicit, which was kind of a con for me though
✅ THE SETTING IN NEVADA and the surrounding cities were so much more interesting than their small town in West Virginia. I'm definitely a city girl 😅 This finally felt more like a typical fantasy/scifi adventure because we didn't have so much of the high school drama
✅ THE PLOT MOVED FORWARD so quickly in this one. Whether it was an action sequence or a reveal of information, there was always something interesting happening that kept me on the edge of my seat. And we finally learned about the aliens and a lot of pieces came together
