When Dr. Carolina Rodriguez is snatching a power nap in the church parking lot before her best friend's Miami wedding after a lively hen night, she's disturbed to catch a couple having wild sex in the next vehicle - the kind of sex she's never thought herself capable of having. Trying to make a quick exit, she bumps into the couple's car and encounters the vehicle owner, Texan cowboy Matt McLemore, all man and all cowboy. He doesn't seem overly disturbed that she's interrupted him during an extremely private moment. During the wedding, she's intrigued to discover that McLemore is the man she's just signed up to work with on her next assignment. She's a vet who specializes in large animals and Matt needs Carolina to find out why his herds are being depleted by mysterious animal deaths. In order not to give away the fact that he's having the matter investigated, Matt suggests that she visits his ranch in Texas posing as his girlfriend. The babe in the parking lot had just been a casual pick up, nothing more.
It's against her better judgment, but Carolina is attracted to the down home Texan cowboy, even if he's inclined to be somewhat free with his favours. But Matt is no pushover. He's a family man through and through and now that he's set eyes on the lovely Latina, Carolina, he wants her in his life. End. Of. Story. But is he what she really wants?
A well written contemporary romance with the love scenes written in erotica style. Therefore, it's not the kind of read to give your teenage daughter. The sex scenes are long, graphic and explicit. Blow by blow, touch by touch, feel by feel. Which is fine if that's what you like. I loved the premise - the lovely Latina and the macho Texan - and the intrigue had me - well, intrigued. But the over long sex scenes, while fabulously written, somewhat took the wind out of my sails as the story about the mysterious animal deaths took a back seat and paled into insignificance as Matt and Carolina's shenanigans in bed took the centre stage.
The main characters are well drawn, their dialogue is interesting and if you love well written, erotic romances, this is for you. With bells on. I'm one of those people who'd rather do it than read about it. But if this author ever turns her hand to romantic suspense, I think she'd be fabulous.
BTW it has one of the most amazing scenes I've ever read in a romance novel - the heroine, a vet helps the hero deliver a calf. It also has one of the most romantic closing scenes I've ever read.

SUPER HOT COWBOY ALERT! I loved this book.The story is engaging, the characters are great, and the sex is AMAZING.
From the moment they meet, sparks fly between Matt and Carolina. Susan Arden expertly creates incredible sexual tension that builds and builds until the characters (and the reader!) can barely stand it. When they finally give in, the sex is explosive and incredibly well-written. Some of the scenes literally took my breath away.
Matt is a fantastic hero: a handsome, chiseled, intelligent and sexy cowboy. A modern “caveman” type, he desires to possess Carolina completely, and when he does…. just WOW. Carolina possesses both strength and vulnerability, traits that make her a relatable and likable female lead.
"He took without asking, tearing down every wall she'd erected. The kiss continued on a path of destruction, her world fighting against his. Only when she whimpered and slumped against him, did he relinquish his power, turn raw greed into tenderness, and transform fire in soothing heat. He lifted her into his arms. "Tonight, baby, you're completely mine. By the time we're finished, we won't be two separate people."
Overall, this is a fantastic read. I enjoyed the story and setting of the cattle ranch, the interesting plot, and most of all, the connection between these two characters. The evolution of their relationship is a (smokin’ hot!) delight to read, and the HEA an added bonus

Carolina never dreamed her cousin's wedding would be so eventful for her! After a hen night to remember Carolina and Sam her cousin are almost late for Sam 's wedding. Carolina snatches a power nap to recover from the night's excesses. Parked in the car park she becomes a voyeur.Later she realises she has just met her new boss 'Matt' in less than conventional circumstances.
The two main characters are well developed. Matt first appears arrogant but his life is full of conflict and you soon want to join 'Team Matt'. . Carolina is intelligent and vulnerable. Her fascinating career is integral to the plot.You instantly warm to Carolina.
Aside from a unique plot and believable characters this book has steamy love scenes which definitely make me want to visit Texas. No wonder the ranch is in trouble, when do they get time to work! This book is a fun and entertaining read, perfect for a summer afternoon.

What an interesting way for the heroine and hero to meet in a book!!! I loved Carolina and her no nonsense exterior that she tried so hard to hold. She took one look at Matt.. Humph.... and knew that logically he was not what she needed in her life. Little did she know it was already decided that he would be in her life for quite some time!
Carolina has always been attracted to the bad boys. She is desperate to break that habit and start a new life. That is one of the reasons she has agreed to go to Texas as a large animal vet and research what is going on with the cattle on a particular ranch. Her plan is to leave Florida after her cousin's wedding and venture on to Texas for a fresh start.
Carolina runs into Matt in the parking lot of the church.... literally. There is more behind the how and why she ran into him... but I am not spoiling that one. ;) She and Matt have an instant zing and she feels an immediate bad boy vibe as well. Should she break her habit of wanting those bad boys or should she give in just one more time???
Little does Carolina know that the parking lot Matt and the rancher she has agreed to go to Texas and help, are one in the same!! This is where the story gets tricky, hot, steamy... just wow!! I LOVED Carolina ad Matt! I was definitely a fan of the give the bad boy one more chance club!! Matt is sexy, an alpha male, can mix with blue collars and white collar crowds, and sex on legs!
I give Tempted by Trouble 4 stars on the knock my socks off scale!! This is categorized as a western, but only because there are hot cowboys in it.. and TEXAS! Kudos to Susan Arden. I read this book in one night and couldn't put it down!!

After dropping her cousin in front of the church to get ready, Carolina decides to go park the car and take a quick nap to recuperate from their late night out. But when she wakes up she finds herself in a very compromising situation, for in the car next to her are a man and a woman getting it on.
Matt McLemore is at his friend’s wedding, but that does not take away the worries he has had for the past couple of months. His cattle are dying and they can’t find the reason why yet. Ok, I'll start with the negative first. I hated the ending. Why? Because I wanted more. I fell in love with Matt and Carolina, and to me, the ending meant no more feisty fighting hotness!
On to the positive. This book was Fantastic. I mean, wow. The author knows how to turn a romance novel into something hot. This book, I literally had to stop reading, put hubby in a coma, then come back to finish it. The emotions that the descriptions and writing evoked inside of me were amazing and fulfilling. There's not one part of this book that didn't have me hook, line and sinker. If you like your cowboys sexy and your woman strong, you have got to read this book.

More than I expected. Flame throwing is more like it. Stand back because right from the start things get going for the H/H. Carolina has a tendency to like a man who is reckless, and with her past she's already headed for trouble with this rancher at her cousin's wedding. There's the dynamics of their attraction, and the fact that they can't have one another that makes this read so appealing. Who hasn't wanted the impossible? I will say, that once they put aside their reasons to stay apart, the sex was riveting. When her ex shows up, stepping on everyone's toes, it it maddening. I sweated the ending, almost believing this was not going to end well. But it did!

If you like your cowboys hot and your heroines sexy, then this is the book for you! Matt is a cattleman with a huge problem.. his cows are dying. Caroline is a large animal vet who hold the answers he needs.. The sparks are hot enough to set the pages on fire. The story is spellbinding. From Miami to a little town in Texas this story will take you for a ride you will not want to get off of. I could not get enough! This is a 4 star book and I can not wait to read more from this author who knows how to add spice, and mystery, and lot of down and dirty fun.

This was a fun read. I like how the interaction was between Carolina and Matt. You could see the sparks leaping from the pages! Matt did seem a little old fashioned in some spots but I figure it is the way he was brought up. I would have liked to seen more to the ending of the story. I just felt like it dropped me. These are two passionate characters and I am hoping that Susan Arden continues with these siblings.

Okay read
Started off quite strongly then seemed to stutter a bit. Good storyline but lots of things weren’t resolved or dealt with in a very rushed finish. Was an okay read. Not a keeper.

this book was awesome!! Carolina has been hurt and left unsatisfied by her lovers/boyfriends....she thinks some thing is wromg with her because he have is 26 and hasnt ever had a orgasm. then there is Matt owner of the Ranch Carolina is going to be working for for a couple of weeks. they first meet at Carolinas cousins wedding in the parking lot.....Matt is in the middle of geting a blow job when Carolina backs up trying not to be noticed and hits his car..( i was turning red at this point lol) When Matt gets out of his car this instant attraction between the two of them. after the wedding Carolina fimds out she's going to be stuck with him for two whole weeks. she isnt sure of she can keep her hand to self. she is torn she wants him but at the same time she doesn't she doesn't want to get hurt. and Matt has been hurt in the past by an ex girlfriend that happen to be married at the time(he didnt find out she was married to her husband confronted him) so both of them have been hurt and are scarred by past experiences but still want each other. so Matt come up with a plan for her to pretend to be his girlfriend when she's working for him so his family doesn't get upset because of the reason why she's there. the fall in bed together and have an amazing two weeks together (there are some ups and downs and some hot sex scenes that will have you having hot flashes lol) i didnt want this vook to end when it did and i hope that there is more comong because i want to know what happens and get some answers to questions in this book that I have.

I love a good romance, so I was looking forward to reading this.
Carolina Rodriguez is a wonderful character. I liked her a lot. She is a veterinarian, who has been hired to find out what is killing the cattle at Evermore Ranch. When she meets Matt McLemore sparks fly!
Matt McLemore is an intriguing character. He certainly makes an impression! He's super smart and sexy. I liked him a lot too! The chemistry between these two characters is extremely HOT!
I have literally read hundreds of romance novels over the years (if not a thousand of them). One thing about this genre of books is that I know that they roughly follow a set formula - Boy meets girl, instant attraction, happy ending. However, it is the ability of the author to flesh out the story and make the characters come alive, which this author did perfectly. This story has a few twists that gives a freshness to it. I really enjoyed meeting the McLemore clan. They were a lovely family.
There are some seriously HOT scenes in this story that I must admit I wasn't quite expecting, but they definitely were intense! *Fanning myself!*. The ending felt a bit rushed and could have gone on a little longer, but I really enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more romances by this author in the future.

Talk about starting off on the wrong foot. The sparks start flying almost immediately between our two main characters. Carolina wakes up from a power nap in her car and finds herself with front row seating to Matt’s “encounter” with another woman. Determined to be inconspicuous, Carolina backs out of the parking stall and plans a discreet exit however those plans are shot to smithereens when she hits the other car.
Since we first meet Matt during an intimate encounter with another woman, my initial impression of him was not the most favorable. My thoughts started to lean in the direction of a player or modern day rake. It was obvious this was how Carolina viewed him as well. It was nice to get to know the real Matt with the great character development shown throughout the story.
At first I thought this was going to be more of a romantic suspense type of story however despite the mystery surrounding the cattle on Evermore Ranch, I would classify this story as more of a contemporary erotica. Erotica it was too! Wowza! The heat and steam were practically rolling out of my tablet. I thought these two were going to spontaneously combust before they FINALLY got down to business.
Overall, this was an enjoyable (and HOT) read that I finished quickly. This was my first Susan Arden novel and it will not be last. If you are looking for a story that not only is hot and steamy but has a well developed plot and characters with great depth, then I recommend giving this one a try.

My thoughts started to lean in the direction of a player or modern day rake. It was obvious this was how Carolina viewed him as well. It was nice to get to know the real Matt with the great character development shown throughout the story.
At first I thought this was going to be more of a romantic suspense type of story however despite the mystery surrounding the cattle on Evermore Ranch, I would classify this story as more of a contemporary erotica. Erotica it was too! Wowza! The heat and steam were practically rolling out of my tablet. I thought these two were going to spontaneously combust before they FINALLY got down to business.
Overall, this was an enjoyable (and HOT) read that I finished quickly. This was my first Susan Arden novel and it will not be last. If you are looking for a story that not only is hot and steamy but has a well developed plot and characters with great depth, then I recommend giving this one a try.

Tempted by Trouble is fast paced contemporary romance taking place in Texas with a smokin' hot rancher, Matt, as the hero and a feisty if not a little vulnerable Cubian American heroine, Carolina.
The sexy scenes start from the beginning of the book and it is chock full of them. Matt and Carolina have no problem in the sex department, that is sizzling. The communications department is a whole other story. When Matt hires Carolina, a large animal vet, to find out what is killing the cattle on his ranch he never suspected she would be a petite curvy Latina with a quick temper and a connection to him that he can't deny.
I thought this was a good story and had a bit of a mystery element to it with the cattle dying of unknown causes,
it was fast paced and a good length, Matt seemed to be a good guy if not very good at communicating his feelings, Carolina seemed to be a bit immature in her reactions to Matt and the whole relationship issue. I did find that at times some rather cheesy references were made to part of the anatomy (my favorite was was hot love vice) but over all an enjoyable book.

Wow - Susan Arden certainly delivers the chemistry and sizzle in this novel about rancher Matt McLemore and Veterinarian Carolina Rodriguez. You will be hooked and not able to put the steamy read down when the sparks first fly between these two in an embarrassing church parking lot encounter.
Carolina learns her acquaintance is her new client, Matt McLemore. Their initial meeting was less than professional and full of mistaken assumptions and misunderstandings. Lucky for us these two don't let any of that get in the way of their burning attraction to each other. Their chemistry is intense and explosive.
There are enough twists and turns in this story to make for a satisfying early summer read. I hope Ms Arden has more in store for us about those intriguing McLemore brothers.

This is a classic romance short story with just the right amount of steamy sex scenes.
Matt McLemore works on his family's cattle ranch (Evermore Ranch) and hires a vet (Dr Carolina Rodriguez) to investigate the reasons behind all the cattle deaths. The only stipulation is she is to investigate in secret as he is going against his family's wishes by bringing an outsider in. So, he comes up with the idea that she be his girlfriend for the two weeks of her contract but didn't count on the instant (mutual) attraction they hold.
Without giving the storyline, this is a good book but be warned, this is actually book 2 of the series, not book 1 as shown in the title.

This is mouth-watering read. The erotic scenes are so detailed, you will not be disappointed. This book has me panting as I read, it takes my breath away. Seriously, read this book. you wont be disappointed.. I read this book twice and it was just as good on second time, and I still plans to read it again. and again! This man, matthew is deff on my fictional book boyfriend list, I would love it if he does all these things to me as he did to carolina and say all those dirty things and possesive words to me as he did to her. I can only dream, right? -mara

About 50% in this book picked up and became a lot more serious then it first started. I liked the scenes where Matt and Caroline worked together with the animals. They seemed to just fit perfectly. Lots of drama and a sudden ending..still an entertaining hot read

Are you kidding me? I couldn't get past page 12 when the heroine meets the slimy "hero" after noticing him getting a bj from another woman in the car parked next to her. She tries to get away but ends up getting into a fender bender with his car. He gets out of the car, slimes over and propositions her, literally seconds after going at it with another woman! Ugh, creepy does not even begin to cover it. What woman in real life wouldn't be absolutely disgusted by that?!?!?

Words fail me. I can count on the fingers of one hand how many 1 star reviews I have given. Usually grammatical and spelling errors don't bother me but there were so many of them in this book I lost count and they really ruined the whole book. As it was nothing really happened and the plot was very thin. The last straw for me that knocked it down to 1 star was at 76% in the middle of a steamy scene 'his fingers continued to move, lower over her public bone...' PUBLIC - really!

Liked the rancher aspect of the story, but everything else was a little bit too predictable & cliche. Still an entertaining read.
