In Out of Sight, Out of Time, the fifth installment in the Gallagher Girls series, Cammie “The Chameleon” Morgan has awoken in an alpine convent with one very important thing missing — her memory. Cammie, oh Cammie where did you go? Ever wonder about where Cammie went and what exactly did she do during her time missing? Me too, too bad we will never know. This book tells us what Cammie friends did to find her when she was away. This book is broken into ten parts. Each part says how many days it has been since Cammie left, each titled with a name of one of her friends: Bex, Zach, Liz and Macey. Find out what they did, whom they told and how they felt in this short story of classified materials.
I honestly did not mind this book. It was not as great as the series books, but it was a nice little short story of what happened between book four and book five. This book takes you into the emotional part of the girl’s summer, where they spent waiting for Cammie, and not being able to do anything to find her. My favorite part was when they had Liz talks to her little sister. It shows how much coming from a non-spy family can really change your output on life, and your family. This short story is easy to find on the internet, all you have to do is Google the title. Overall a nice book and a great read if you’re missing your Gallagher Girls.
I thought this e-book/novella/thingmabobler was a sublime look at the lives of everyone Cammie left behind after she ran away. I won’t lie; I was devasted when the girls found out that Cammie has left. And a piece of my heart broke off and plummeted into my kidney when Zach heard about it. I wish that she’d taken him with her. Or better yet, not left at all. I know that the Circle is after her and everyone around her isn’t safe, but she doesn’t get to be a constant part of her freinds’ lives and then leave them as if they were just collateral damage like that. I was honestly very surprised when Cammie’s mother wasn’t very surprised to hear that Cammie was gone. The worst part is knowing the stress and the pain that she has put all of them through. I hate to say it, but I think I will. Cammie was selfish. She doesn’t get to go off on her own just because she’s a target. The Gallagher Academy can protect her and I’d feel much better knowing where she was. She’s the Chameleon after all. She knows how to hide. But that doesn’t mean that the Circle won’t find her. I mean, they did kill her dad. I kind of feel bad that Zach doesn’t have anyone. His mom’s a nutcase that just tried to kill his girlfriend, his girlfriend ran away because of it, his mentor is in a coma, and he’s the only male student of the Gallagher Academy. (Guess I’ll have to start calling him Gallagher Boy. ;^D) I really hope that Liz’s sister doesn’t become a Gallagher Girl. I’m surprised Liz survived it, and I don’t think she should involve anyone else from her family. Besides, it’s only becoming more and more dangerous. I wished that Abby had some news for Macey. She seemed so sad in her house in the Hamptons. No one to talk to, parents that don’t expect anything from you, and the agonizing wait for word of your runaway friend. Sheesh. And seeing Bex cry was all too much. Bex doesn’t cry. Which is why I’m excited to see what Zach is planning to do in order to find Cammie. I think that I’m just kind of pissed (excuse my language) that Cammie has been missing for 100 days. Ah, well. I guess I’ll read the next book. I recommend this e-book/novella/thingmabobler to fans of the Gallagher Girls series.
Been a while since I last entered this world but reading this felt like coming home. This series was so influential to me growing up, and it was lovely to see these characters again, even if it was such a short piece and the situation they were in wasn't ideal.
The story about the summer between books 4 and 5, told in the POV's of Bex, Liz, Macey and Zach! Kinda sad though but I got a bit more info about Liz, so it was worth it! 🙂
5⭐️ my favorite of the short stories to go along with this series so far! it was super fun to read povs outside of just cammie’s, and i love how supportive all her friends are so much! it was also the perfect length.
Classified Material I don’t think this one was really necessary. It didn’t give anything new to the plot or develop it in any way. It was just Bex, Macy, Lex, and Zack’s reactions to Cam’s note. If there’s going to be “extra” material to a story or series, I think it should atleast give you something outside the story. I don’t know maybe a hint of where Cam is. I cant even fairly rate this because there just wasn’t enough of it and there just weren’t any thoughts to be had other than wanting to get on to the next book to actually see where Cam is.
I never really thought about how much time was missing between Only the Good Spy Young and Out of Sight, Out of Time. It was fascinating getting to see bits and pieces of that time and I absolutely loved getting everyone else's points of view! This just made me miss this all so much and I love all the extra things available that add to the story...
0.5) The Spies That Bind ★★★★★ 1.) I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You ★★★★★ 2.) Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy ★★★★ 3.) Don't Judge a Girl by Her Cover ★★★★ 4.) Only the Good Spy Young ★★★★
I was so heartbroken reading this, but at the same time, I am so glad that we got a chance to see the other charcaters' POV. For everyone who had seen the time jump between books 4 and 5, we were all desperate to know what had happened to everyone else immediately after Cammie's fateful decision, and how they reacted to it. To see that through the eyes of her closest friends was absolutely shattering.
I think Classified Material was a super cool idea given the big gap, and its importance, between Only the Good Spy Young and Out of Sight, Out of Time. I loved reading from Macey's perspective and thought the scene between Liz and Ellie was endearing and gave interesting insight into Liz. It was definitely...odd... reading from Zach's perspective after four books from Cammie's perspective, but I'm glad it was there. Overall, I quite liked it, even if it felt a bit like a fish-out-of-water situation.
It was cute. I wish I had actually read it after book four. Was cute to see how each of the girls handled Cammie's disappearance. Wondering if Liz's sister will come into play later in the series. Wish it showed more of Zach and Bex and how they became so close. But I guess you can't please everyone when it comes to novellas.
Wow! Just...wow! This was AMAZING!!!! And depressing.... It was heartbreaking to read Bex's, Liz's, and Macey's reactions when they realized Cammie was gone and even more heartbreaking to read Zach's... Especially when Zach told them he told her the two of them should run away earlier... Definitely should be on the reading list of every Gallagher Girls fan!
it was fun to see their povs but the one thing i found odd is that third person was still used even if its technically this particular character's pov. like it says for example, Macey's pov then the sentences go Macey goes inside blablabla. i don't know maybe it's just me that found it quite weird. also wish it was longer because i wanted more Zach ugh.
immediately jumps back into the world of Gallagher girls. I've forgotten the details about the Circle and all the drama, but it was great getting these character's summer backstories. And yet, i still wonder, what's so special about Cammie again?
Also Liz not wanting her sister to joining the academy broke my heart, because i understood, and yet, poor Liz...
I won't actually be able to determine how important this tiny novella is to the overall series until I read the fifth book, but this is a nice little interlude where we follow Cammie's friends (and Zach) post-book four. To avoid spoilers, I won't say anything else, but I am curious to see if we revisit anything that happened here in the final installments.
This shows the reactions of Cammie's friends and family to what she did at the end of book 4. I can't believe she's pulled it off for over 3 months! 🙀 I didn't take her friends to be people of inaction and apparently Zach finally goes to Bex so....guess I'll see what happens haha
It was hard to find this story but Gallagher Girls Wiki saved the day 🙌
