October 27, 2013This is very, very long. And not quite my cup of tea.
I thought anniespinkhouse did a great job writing the sex: anything with genitals involved was beautifully described, with a remarkable lack of repetitiveness in such a long fic.
My favourite scene was right at the end when
2.5 rounded up for being free.

This is a competently written J2 slavefic. Sixteen year old Prince Jared is enslaved by twenty year old rival Prince Jensen. The usual fanfic typos and the plot is a little involved but I enjoyed the chemistry between our two boys..
'He was satisfied and fuzzy. Right now, in this moment, everything was perfect, if he was already condemned to Hell, he was going with Jensen and they were going to make it one heck of a ride.'

This was my first Supernatural fanfic, and at first it was disorientating that it was Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, rather than Sam and Dean Winchester. It did pull me into the whole fantasy of a Prince enslaved and collared, and a Prince becoming a Master ... each growing to maturity and bettering himself. Somehow it felt right that Jared is the one enslaved, and Jensen the master.
Not perfect, but really well written. Somehow she makes the basically 'fairy tale' story/setting work. Maybe its because both Jared and Jensen are not 'perfect', and have to change to be more right with who they are.
This one might change how I watch Supernatural ... LOL!

A pleasant (though that word may seem contradictory to the themes involved) and somewhat gripping read. Not really anything new to the abundant stores of slave fiction, however there was nice chemistry and little to none romanticisation of the situation (which is greatly appreciated). Some of the plot details were lost to me because I simply didn't pay enough attention and its length began to show, but this was a nicely fleshed out story that was enjoyable.
